I love a fish finger sandwich, in a white bread bap 🙌🏻

Not sorry.

You?

Yeah, ok. I’ll crack on with this bag of Revels then. At least I’ll be dead before dementia/the oil runs out/wars over resources/Russia or China start the next war.
Enjoy sitting in a cave eating your cold lentils.

This 😁😁

But isn't UPF causing dementia before it kills you

My dm was obsessed with M and S ready meals. She ate them every day. Lived to 86

I wouldn't say it is utterly pointless fuss. Wait until a heart attack hits you out of nowhere and you suddenly realise you don't want to die so young. It certainly makes you realise you can't eat crap and live a long life. Anyone of us on here might not make it through the night simply because of the crap we have eaten.

Hmmm.

"Enjoy sitting in a cave eating your cold lentils."

There isn't only one extreme or the other. There's a whole lot of middle bit.
You can eat most things but just prepare them yourself. The equivalent to a bag of revels and other sweets and chocolates are probably not possible but cakes, biscuits, nice meals and snacks are all possible.

I try to keep upfs low. Yesterday we had home made pizza and choc chip cake available. The choc chips were probably upf?
I did actually have lentil soup too but it was hot and tasty.

My dc love mayonnaise and chilli sauces so we always give those. We all love crisps so we occasionally have those. It's more the price that puts me off buying them more, to be honest. Chocolate and sweets occasionally.

Crisps
Marmite
Marg
Instant gravy
Ketchup
And sometimes (shock horror!) I eat ready meals which I love.
I'm a terrible human

It was just a joke, alluding to the phrase that the PP used.

Nobody willl believe me , but I like fresh hot lentils better than most UPFs.

But what about chocolate?! I don’t eat it often, but when I do, it’s so delicious!! I don’t think there is a substitute? Same with a cake. I’m not keen on cake, but will bake one for a child’s birthday. I’ve used dates for sweetness, but it makes it quite soggy and I think you need chocolate powder to make it more palatable. I’m not sure how you can completely give up sugar, chocolate, flour, etc. surely in moderation it’s ok?

Homemade cake, flour, and sugar you have in the house isn't upf.

There are non-upf chocolates available. Montezuma has quite a few. Lindt 70% dark is too. Generally it's dark chocolate.

I couldn't give up cake and chocolate either! I've just swapped brands. And cut back a little as it is more expensive.

I like a ham sandwich (Tesco finest ham) with white bread. I do stick a bit of salad in it.
