I'll begin...

ABBA voyage 'concert'
The London Eye
Harry Potter Studios

Sydney Opera House - smaller than you think and needs a wash. Not worth killing the planet on a 24 hour flight to see it, tbh.

Chitterlina · 20/03/2024 23:59

Kimchi 😖

TheSquareMile · 21/03/2024 00:00

Oxford Street.

I like John Lewis and sometimes Selfridge's, but the rest .......... Hmm.

The part of Oxford Street nearest to Tottenham Court Road is especially disappointing; far too many American Candy shops.

On the rare occasions when I am there, it's clear that a large percentage of the people on the pavements are tourists. I just don't understand that. What appeals to them about Oxford Street?

GarlicAndTangerines · 21/03/2024 00:01

Stuff from Aldi

Would those of you naming the Maldives care to explain? I was contemplating throwing most of my savings at a once in a lifetime holiday there... What's the deal?!

It’s just a really expensive and isolated beach holiday. Nothing that special

HedgehogB · 21/03/2024 00:04

Dubai. All inclusive culturally-bereft holidays. The Crown. Zumba. Love Island. Strictly. Most TV actually. Hen do’s . Girls night outs generally. Shopping.

gotthearse · 21/03/2024 00:04

Boden.

Good quality Nana clothes.

Singasongtime · 21/03/2024 00:05

The Swiss Butter restaurant. Feel conflicted as amazing food but the atmosphere was dire just so busy and noisy.

Wicked. Absolute worst thing I’ve ever seen at the theatre. Bored to tears.

Agree. That's two and a half hours of my life I'll never get back.

SheerLucks · 21/03/2024 00:05

PiggieWig · 20/03/2024 18:15

Starbucks

What?

MaloneMeadow · 21/03/2024 00:06

seeitthroughmyeyes · 20/03/2024 23:32

@MaloneMeadow because it's absolutely everywhere you turn. It's unavoidable...

I personally have never been forced to watch a TikTok video, that is categorically impossible if you don’t have the app (which caters the content you see to your likes and dislike, if you’re seeing rubbish it’s because you’re watching rubbish) but you do you.

PoorlyCatmummy · 21/03/2024 00:06

Chicken Katsu - it's breaded chicken with curry sauce poured over it!

2under4 · 21/03/2024 00:09

"Having a career". Unless you're a top scientist, at the cutting edge of bioengineering or something.

Most likely you're just a pleb, processing paperwork. Then processing slightly harder paperwork and managing a team of 3. How much joy can that realistically bring?

smooththecat · 21/03/2024 00:09

Weddings
Most chocolate

Flowers, fucking hate the things, mess everywhere and won’t fit in the bin

smooththecat · 21/03/2024 00:11

SheerLucks · 21/03/2024 00:05

What?

Oh yes, absolutely awful

SheerLucks · 21/03/2024 00:16

All inclusive holidays...

Overweight, bad-mannered Brits drinking cocktails from dawn until dusk; horrible
re-purposed food; sad, exhausted, overworked staff.

Outside of our lush, irrigated enclosure it was barren and poverty-stricken. It cost us ££££ - never again!

We only went that year in 2021 because the cost of Covid testing to go to our usual destination was almost £1000 and the package deal tests cost just £300.

I would never go back.

smooththecat · 21/03/2024 00:20

Spontaneity, fucking awful. I want to know what’s happening.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/03/2024 00:21

Justcallmebebes · 20/03/2024 18:43

Meant to say, is it not worth it?

I've been twice actually and loved it. Not a Harry Potter fan at all, but my DCs and friends obviously were.

The only disappointment for me was the initial reveal of the great hall, which seems so much smaller in real life. But from then on it's just fascinating.

therealcookiemonster · 21/03/2024 00:28

HappierTimesAhead · 20/03/2024 18:17

Ooooh, is this based on personal experience?

really really depends on the resort, time of year and if you are into watersports. if you are not happy to spend a big chunk of cash, go in rainy season or don't enjoy lying on the beach/ diving/snorkling/jet skis it will be a shit experience...

I have been and it was awesome.

GarlicAndTangerines · 21/03/2024 00:28

@smooththecat 'Flowers, fucking hate the things, mess everywhere and won't fit in the bin'* - 🤣🤣🤣* agreed!

It really looks amazing from a boat on Sydney Harbour. I thought Bondi Beach was very average but loved Brontë beach !
