Doner kebabs.
Cillian Murphy.
Cheesecake or brownies with biscuits or chocolate bars plonked on top.
Manic Street Preachers.
Anything that people think they should like because it makes them seems classy innit: going to The Races, ‘girlie spa weekends’, having logos on every bit of an outfit.
Andre Rieu. Gives me the heeby geebies.
Stephen Mulhearn. The only magic thing about him is how he’s convinced anyone in TV to keep employing him and his overly manicured eyebrows.

ITA about Murphy. I don't think he is remotely attractive, except mayyyybe as Tommy Shelby, and I also don't think that he deserved the Oscar.

that the public would rather watch soaps than study politics before they vote

I regret falling for the shark vacuum hype so much. Hate the thing

Moved in with one in situ - it's awful. My puppy has more blowing suction than thay thing. It just spreads the first around

Please expand more on Harry Potter land thing. Not a fan but gc are and when I researched tickets, it's a long drive for us and worked out at just under £350 just for tickets, which to my mind is extortionate for a day out

Harry Potter studios as a Harry Potter fan is amazing IMO. But, you really need to be big fans of the stories and films, even films in general. I went with someone who was a meh? Fan but they LOVED the studios.

We went first thing in the morning and were the first people in. Done by late lunch and had a great day.

20User · 20/03/2024 21:53

Spas
Bottomless brunch

😲 I love loads of these things!! 🤣

Me too! We are allowed to like popular things as they are popular for a reason but so many popular things aren't great for everyone.

I agree with Matcha Tea though 🤢 🤮

The cinema. I've given up now. People treat it as an extension of their living room. Chatting, checking their phones, eating noisily, no manners or self awareness.

Go to an Everyman cinema. It's costly so you keep out the idiots who aren't actually interested in watching the films. Also the chairs are really comfortable.

LovelyTheresa · 20/03/2024 21:55

ooochickenfriedrice · 20/03/2024 21:58

Walt Disney World Florida. Crowded and so expensive nowadays.
BBQs.
The cinema. In fact, watching films in general.

Easter. It's a bit boring and I'm not a big chocolate fan.
Festivals. Rubbish live music and drunk people. Too many people in general.
Cocktails. They are putrid and I get a headache just looking at them.

Moidershewrote · 20/03/2024 21:59

Marvel / superhero franchise films. Just so incredibly formulaic and same-y. The sheer relentlessness of the same story arc over and over and over again in every single film, just with different costumes. Please NO more!

Gin and/or tonic - both utterly vile and nothing masks the rancid, bitter flavour of either.

Bath bombs - fuck right off with your over perfumed, fanny-killer orbs of bath crust.

Chai latte - frothy and overly sweet milky tea, really? Do me a favour..

Marrakesh - wall to wall vile, leering, cat-calling men; harassing the shit out of you from morning to night. Twenty thousand carpet sellers and their brothers shout-selling at you.

Margate ‘old town’ - about 3 streets and a square with a handful of try hard, trendy-cunt coffee/gift shops and a couple of restaurants. Everywhere / everyone else a bit moody and intimidating.

Dishoom (London) - lame, overpriced Indian restaurant.

Love Island - beyond thick, shamelessly shallow, utterly boring - just can’t understand the appeal of watching these people interact with each other. Why?!

ASOS - just really poorly made crap with dreadful sizing inconsistency, every single time.

Brita water filters - just doesn’t taste better. End of story.

Turkeyhen · 20/03/2024 22:01

@Moidershewrote god yes you are so right about boring, BORING superhero shite 👏

TotalAbsenceOfImperialRaiment · 20/03/2024 22:01

Anything with the word 'pampering' in the sales blurb is guaranteed to be a let-down.
