How much milk per week do you use?

Just sorting out the weeks shopping and am astounded at the amount that's been used this week for 4 adults. 9 fresh pints and 12-14 long life litres of milk. Feels like we'll need to get a cow if this continues!

24 pints (two adults and a 5 year old)

The 5 year old drinks about half of it though!

Scampuss · 18/03/2024 20:50

3 adults, 3-4 pints a week. One person has it in cereal every day, one person has it in tea, other person doesn't have milk for anything.

KalaMush · 18/03/2024 20:51

8 pints a week, that's for 2 adults and 3 teens.

3 adults and we use about 6 2 litre cartons which is about 21 pints ( I think ) .

ViciousCurrentBun · 18/03/2024 20:59

28 pints, 4 adults 4 days a week and 3 of us the other 3 days.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 18/03/2024 21:01

At least 20 pints a week, often more. 2 adults and ‘kids’ aged 19 and 15

HesterPrincess · 18/03/2024 21:02

Dh is the only cows milk drinker and he has 16 pints a week at home, plus extra at work. He drinks at least 8 mugs of full milk latte a day... and has a huge pint travel mug that he takes everywhere in his car. He's putting so much fat on his abdomen..... but that's another thread.

I have 3 x 1 litre cartons of unsweetened soya and that's for work/home.

dementedpixie · 18/03/2024 21:02

A 2 litre bottle maybe. I only take it in tea and only ds eats cereal occasionally

jay55 · 18/03/2024 21:04

.5 to 1.5 pints. Rarely get through a whole 2pint bottle.

KingNidge · 18/03/2024 21:04

45 ish pints at least 6 per day sometimes a little more.

GameOfJones · 18/03/2024 21:05

Around 5 litres of milk a week. I tend to buy 3 of the 2 litre bottles in each weekly shop and we normally have a bit left over but not loads.

That is 2 adults and 2 children. DDs have cereal plus a cup of milk every morning and I make a latte and have porridge almost every day.

Fridgefreezermagnets · 18/03/2024 21:06

4-6 pints of skimmed and 8 pints semi-skimmed milk. For 1 adult 3 teenagers.

BeyondMyWits · 18/03/2024 21:08

8 to 10 pints a week, me and DH.

Cereal for breakfast.. 5 or 6 cups of tea a day and sometimes a cup of hot chocolate in the evening.

ghostbusters · 18/03/2024 21:08

We get 15 pints of milk delivered to the doorstep. I usually buy up to 4 more pints on top of that. 2 adults, 2 kids. The kids only drink milk or water (their choice), and eat lots of cereal at breakfast and bedtime.

CrushingOnRubies · 18/03/2024 21:09

Depends on if it's being used for cooking if we have a lot of hot chocolates

But milkman delivers 2 pints on a Monday and 2 on a Friday and there's usually half a pint left before he arrives again. But sometimes nothing left sometimes more than that

Cookerhood · 18/03/2024 21:11

2 adults. 6 pints delivered & quite often have to get another couple of pints.

JiffLemon · 18/03/2024 21:12

4 sometimes 5 adults. If we use a pint a week we've used a lot!

Mumski45 · 18/03/2024 21:15

Varies but can be up to 6 pints a day for 2 adults and 2 older teens so around 40 ish

justasoul · 18/03/2024 21:16

2 litres a week, sometimes we need a 3rd. 2 adults and a teen but I barely have any.

Tintackedsea · 18/03/2024 21:17

4-6 pints a week. 2 adults and 3 dc. Only two of the dc drink it but all three have it with porridge or cereal. The rest is used in cooking as neither adult has it "raw" in anything.

Notinmylifethyme · 18/03/2024 21:17

Zilch.

We drink black tea and coffee. Don't eat cereals or porridge.

I buy the occasional pint of semi skimmed if I'm making a cheese sauce.

EcoCustard · 18/03/2024 21:18

28-32 pints a week 🙈. There are 6 of us. Ds4 & dd6 drink a lot of milk but we drink a lot of it. I make porridge most days with milk too so use a fair bit that way.

Deliberationdivinationdesperation · 18/03/2024 21:19

2 adults and a 2 year old and we go through 1.5-2 of the 4 pint cartons a week so 6-8 pints a week.

2yo doesn't have milk to drink anymore so only has it on cereal, we have it in tea/coffee and we sometimes have cereal throughout the week.

Kalevala · 18/03/2024 21:19

4 pints between two. Sometimes less and I might only buy one 2 pint bottle if there is half of one left.

NC03 · 18/03/2024 21:20

Just me and about 4-5 pints a week
Mostly in tea
