When you change your username do all your old posts also change to the new name, or stay as the old one? Is your old username available if you want to go back? So many questions!

Old posts stay the same. Yes, you can go back to any of them. I think perhaps if you reply on a thread you’re already on it reverts to that name, although not completely sure.

Yes, if you return to an old thread and reply again, it will automatically post your comment under the username that you had when you first posted on it.

I presume it's designed to prevent sock-puppeting.

Yes, that a comparatively new thing, though. I NC regularly, so it’s not unusual for my ‘I’m on’ posts to feature half a dozen different usernames. Someone revived a thread from last year by asking a question I knew the answer to, and when I hit reply, I had no memory of ever using that name!

Oh, and in ‘Settings’, where you select a new username, it will tell you if the name is already yours, and you can see a list of all the names you’ve ever used.

Not them huge monstrously chunky only-get-4-from-one-potato 'chips'. Not them skinny, stringy french fries. Not the Americanism for crisps. Not them triple fried things 'cos they're just poncy, but proper chips, with loads of salt and malt vinegar. Inspired having just been served the too-large version, much to my disappointment.
