Mine is what DS used to call pins and needles. Love kidicisms!

It’s was a pet name my mum used to call me as a toddler. She used to call my sister Miss Moonshine. My name sort of stuck. My sister often calls me “Star” to this day. I’m in my 40s now.

Pashazade · 14/03/2024 08:06

Book title by an author who sadly doesn't write much these days.

Scorchio84 · 14/03/2024 04:20

MIne is a reference to one of my favourite comedy sketch shows (The Fast Show) & I've used it for over 20 years in a previous life as a DJ, so much so that I'm still regularly called it in real life in it's various forms

Chris Waddle!

DaisyGatz · 14/03/2024 18:29

I love anything to do with The Great Gatsby, and always imagined what would of happened if Daisy had ended up Marrying Gatsby and not Tom..

louderthan · 14/03/2024 18:45

Louder than Bombs by the Smiths

Malarandras · 14/03/2024 18:48

Just a name so made up when i was trying to come up with a unique name. Not for this site I made it up well before that. I think it was for an email address. It doesn’t mean anything!

Phunny · 14/03/2024 19:02

I am funny

Everydayislikesundae · 14/03/2024 19:02

From my favourite Morrissey song 'Everyday is like Sunday' and as a child we sometimes got a treat of my favourite ice cream sundae on a Sunday!

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 14/03/2024 19:03

Just a part of my respected status.

RedCarWithDice · 14/03/2024 19:04

I'm a bus wanker but would like a red car with fluffy dice hanging from the mirror

This one of my usernames is from the way a Japanese colleague of mine used to answer the phone. We worked together nearly 20 years ago and she was so much fun. Lost touch after I left and she moved back to Japan. The others I have reference some of my favourite books.

Rockfordpeach · 14/03/2024 19:12

Mine is from the film League of their own

Is that an actual Japanese word/phrase, or was your colleague just being quirky? Is it like the Japanese equivalent of bidding people farewell with "Boutros Boutros Ghali"?!

Moshi moshi is like a hiya!

Mine is because everyone on the internet and wider world wants to see it so I thought I'd do a twirl on here...

KeyboardMash · 14/03/2024 19:35

Couldn't think of anything. Considered just mashing the keyboard and going with it. Wrote that out instead.

BlowDryRat · 14/03/2024 20:15

There was a thread a few years ago where the poster was asking for ideas to help find her escaped pet snake. An experienced snake owner said they used to tempt escapees into the open by warming up a frozen rat/mouse with a hairdryer. I thought that was brilliant so became BlowDryRat as a tribute.

Papyrophile · 14/03/2024 20:53

I like stationery.

Be very careful doing that - you may find yourself adopted by Elon Musk.

It'd be fairly hard to get Old English letters in a keyboard mash wouldn't it?

Mum to two children and happened to be thinking about Close Encounters Of The Third Kind that day - am quite the sci-fi fan as well so I thought it was apt.

Great idea for a thread @Beansandneedles

It always makes me smile when I see @KnickerlessParsons posting

ha thanks!! Thinking I should change mine to inherentlynosey 😂 or 'alwayscurious'!

I looked out of my bedroom window and saw one.

Mamette · 15/03/2024 09:57

It’s a play on my middle name which also means “little mother”. The name itself (my middle name) was my grandmothers name, but not her real name. Just what everyone called her. So that’s not weird at all when I think about it.

I’m not that little though. I’m 5’6”

Why there are no aspirins in the jungle! I name change every few threads too
