Mine is what DS used to call pins and needles. Love kidicisms!

I am very slim and short and need a petite lady car for my tiny body.

NahNeedsGarlic · 13/03/2024 23:48

A line from Crocodile Dundee, originally referring to roast bat but is used in our house as a mild criticism of whatever’s for dinner.

Justletmelogon · 14/03/2024 00:01

Useless intermittent internet that was forever logging me out of things, including mumsnet so I changed it to reflect my frustration

RogueFemale · 14/03/2024 00:03

Feminine take on the Geoffrey Household book Rogue Male. Rogue as in the definition of a wild animal living apart from the herd.

GoldenCrab · 14/03/2024 00:05

My family are all dark skinned and dark haired whereas i am goldie brown tanned and goldie brown hair so they've always called me goldie or golden girl. I am a cancer so thats where the 🦀 comes from.

Inthewellwithjoseph · 14/03/2024 00:06

Something that was said to me after a sermon on Genesis at church. It's been a really rough year so far 😞

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 14/03/2024 00:09

My DS was without his nappy for about three seconds when younger. Turned my back, pristine white fluffy rug..

When my DH came up the stairs that's what I shouted to him as I hadn't had a second to clean up yet!

Redglitter · 14/03/2024 00:22

Everything i tried was taken. I was drinking from a decorated wine glass at the time which had red glitter on it. VERY boring

I change mine quite regularly, but my current one is a nod to an all-time classic episode of Embarrassing Bodies.

Many people go on the programme with concerning symptoms and fears of serious illnesses and health conditions; but this one bloke actually went on to national television to discover, along with the whole country, that he had a smelly, turd-caked arse all the time, because he simply never bothered wiping it properly! Dr Christian handled it (the situation, not the arse) very diplomatically indeed.

MNHQ doesn't allow hoi polloi to have 'tech' anywhere in their usernames.

Gloriosaford · 14/03/2024 00:31

no meaning, made it up on the fly

Whiskeyandkittens · 14/03/2024 00:37

Two of my favourite things!

MaybeRevisitYourWipingT3chnique · 14/03/2024 00:38

It is quite a comedown when you think you've come up with something extremely witty and highly original, only to discover that somebody else has already got/had that username (or a very similar one).

I imagine that must be rather how pub quiz teams feel when they proudly announce with glee that they're calling themselves 'Universally Challenged', 'Norfolk Enchants' or 'Quizlings' and find that there's already a team there with that name, so they're asked to find a different one.

We once went to a quiz with two teams with effectively the same name (terrible, obvious, unoriginal pun), but with one letter difference, hence they'd both been allowed. That was painful all evening, with the quizmaster having to deliberately over-enunciate the sounds of the different letters to distinguish between the two.

PurplePansy05 · 14/03/2024 00:41

I had purple pansies growing in my garden when I was going through recurrent miscarriages. They used to cheer me up in the morning.

Mothership4two · 14/03/2024 00:44

IncompleteSenten · 13/03/2024 15:06

There isn't one.

Funny though

PToosher · 14/03/2024 00:50

It's an anagram of a nickname.

Mothership4two · 14/03/2024 01:01

Mum to two children and happened to be thinking about Close Encounters Of The Third Kind that day - am quite the sci-fi fan as well so I thought it was apt.

Great idea for a thread @Beansandneedles

It always makes me smile when I see @KnickerlessParsons posting

QuietlyWonderful · 14/03/2024 01:11

I don't like to boast ...

That very episode came up on this recent thread.
Funny and gross 🤣

Tell me about a story in the news that you often think about | Mumsnet

*THIS IS A LIGHTHEARTED THREAD - MNHQ* I’m sure most of us will often think of extremely sad/distressing stories that we’ve come across in the news...

mamacorn1 · 14/03/2024 01:16

I have a massive unicorn snuggle , the kids call me mama corn when I wear it - it’s become a bedtime thing !

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 14/03/2024 01:53

When I changed to this many years ago the kids were massive Phineas and Ferb fans. I developed a soft spot for Perry..

IloveAslan · 14/03/2024 04:01

My last remaining cat (of five!!) is called Aslan (actually it's his secret second name!) 😺.

Innisfree · 14/03/2024 04:02

From the WB Yeats poem ‘The Lake Isle of Innisfree’

Scorchio84 · 14/03/2024 04:20

MIne is a reference to one of my favourite comedy sketch shows (The Fast Show) & I've used it for over 20 years in a previous life as a DJ, so much so that I'm still regularly called it in real life in it's various forms

Mothership4two · 14/03/2024 05:18

Always notice (and like) @IloveAslan because of the books which I adored when I was little. Cool name for a cat

MrsLeavemealone · 14/03/2024 05:23

I change my username often. The current one is a reflection of my love of quiet peace in the middle of my very busy demanding life!
