Have just seen news saying that associated press have withdrawn photo as it appears "manipulated". V strange

That's what it's called. It's a common side effects of steroids. Nothing wrong or unusual in it, but a dear friend of mine really hated the change in her face which was subtle to me but a huge deal to her.

Accurate reporting on events worldwide is not the same thing. This was a personal family photo with absolutely irrelevant tweaks. You'd think they'd used an imposter as Kate or something.

Even though this is very obviously a family photo the Press Agencies obviously have a line in the sand as to how much digital interference can be accepted.

It's not a person making a value judgement. Oh that's an important photo and that's not.

That’s the term, even doctors use it. I was on steroids once, had a terrible reaction, almost immediate and when I saw my doctor 48 hours later his first words were oh moon face, you need to come off the steroids.

I think Kate does indeed have moon face (which is a normal side effect that loads of people get) or just looks a bit rough having clearly been seriously ill. As one of the most famous and overanalysed women in the world she is self conscious of that, so they pasted in an old photo of her head and face.

But they did a shit job, and so now we all know they're trying to cover up how she looks instead of just giving her the privacy she wants.

I think doctoring a photo to that extent is a massive error and compromises their integrity.

But mostly I'm still sympathetic to a woman who has been ill and needs to get well.

Some media companies have massively overreacted to a family pic. I hope W&K ensure they are removed from their circulation lists in future.

You stated, as fact, that she didn't edit it and that it was "clearly" done by someone else. That's not speculation or offering an opinion.

I think it’s pretty obvious she is not feeling highly photogenic. It’s mean that everyone has pushed so hard for a photo. It’s totally not respectful of her right to privacy as a human.

I think once the agencies killed it off, it needs full transparency because otherwise all sorts of theories will crop up. This has been poorly handled today.

I think they've put themselves in a position where Catherine would have to show herself live/on video to disprove the various allegations, that's tough, but at the same time KP should not have risked putting her in this situation, lack of professionalism. It's pretty embarrassing, I still feel for her, it's unnecessary stress. They have enough advisers who should know better. They should have published a current unaltered photo with the children for Mother's Day, or one with them taken some time ago and be honest when it was taken. Or preferably, some time ago they should have published a current photo of Catherine reading well wishers' cards or whatever, from a distance if she doesn't want to be seen too closely. There were other options that would have prevented putting her in this awkward situation.

I think they're continuing to mishandle the communications big time and this is the main problem. The reality is probably that Catherine is on the mend but doesn't want to be seen looking imperfect and be judged. It's a sad state of affairs if so, made worse by amateur communications fuelling speculation.

FFS, that poor woman. Under normal circumstances we know she probably sticks to a very rigid diet and exercise regime to stay so slim, and her image clearly matters a lot to her. She can’t do the exercise at the moment, she might not be able to do the diet, she might be taking drugs that affect her appearance. She probably, by her standards, looks like shit and doesn’t want to be seen. There doesn’t need to be any more to it than that, and the vultures here stoking up the flames show she’s right to be paranoid.

Just looked at the photo on Kate and William's Instagram from yesterday, and funnily enough, Charlotte's sleeve is fine on that. 🤔 How interesting....... Looks like it wasn't Kate/William who started any 'photo manipulation.'

Also, Charlotte's 'extra heel' is a tassle on the flat boot, and Louis is just scrunching his fingers up. Nothing is missing from his hand. And yeah, so Kate's (right) hand is a bit blurred ... but she may have just moved it slightly.

So it was an old photo - so what? They shouldn't have had to release anything, except that there has been media speculation whipping into a frenzy in the last week or two. So the palace bowed to pressure and it backfired.

As for conspiracy theories - what the fuck do people think, that she's had her face amputated or something? Leave the woman alone to recover.

yeah I feel for her regardless of what the truth is, but it isn't just a few normal edits. It's extensive. KP comms team should be doing better and had a plan on how to communicate with the public during her recovery without all this. Major fail.

It's her hand in the right of the picture. Follow the very end of the cuff from the right of the pic to the left. The very end of the cuff continues past the rest of the sleeve, it's very clearly photoshopped (and I can never see these things).

I hate to say it but the only way this is going to go away is video footage of her talking and walking. Preferably looking loved up with Wills. Poor lass.

But the problem is they said she would be out of action until Easter - and that seemingly wasn't good enough for people.
So the conspiracy crap started, and the media ran with it. If it had just been accepted she will lie low for a while, there would be no need for any of this.

They're (press agencies) are essentially saying this image is not from last week as it was purported to be.
