I do believe it’s a genuine image, I just think it’s older and fhey have recoloured rhe clothes to hide it, as Kate doesn’t want to be seen right now, which is her right.

the agencies won’t kill this for some minor amateur editing. Someone at rhe palace has made a serious error in trying to pass this off. Likely done with good intent as Kate is recovering well, but looks unwell.

they should have left well alone.

I have a horrible feeling that the Palace are going to bow to media pressure and the conspiracy theorists and come out and tell us what Kate actually had done. I really hope they don't though.

I see nothing wrong with the photo, when I erase something from the background it takes the colours of what is behind that object and it blurs slightly which would explain the cardigan and skirt blurring. Charlotte may have had something on her cardigan that didn't show up until the photo, Louis was probably holding a toy soldier or something and they didn't want that in there.

I took someone out of a photo as he was stood
in front of what I had taken a photo of and ruined my picture as I didn't want a random man in my photo, it blurred it the same way.

The problem with the photo is that it's not current.

Kate does not look like that right now, that's obvious from the car photo during the week. This has been done with the intention to deceive.

Yes, I find the C thing weird too! Unless she always signs off that way? I don’t follow their social media. The whole thing has whipped up a frenzy… H & M will be laughing into the Cornflakes!

It's standard on social media from high profile people who have staff running their accounts. So a typical post will be "The Princess of Wales was delighted to open a new recycling plant today..." sort of stuff with no sign off. And then when either of them want to release a message that's actually from them they sign it off with either "W" or "C" (Or "W&C") to indicate it's directly from them.

The Obamas do it too, I think most high profile people do.

'These are the same press agencies that release images internationally that reveal the levels of destruction in Ukraine or Gaza'

Oh please.

Accurate reporting on events worldwide is not the same thing. This was a personal family photo with absolutely irrelevant tweaks. You'd think they'd used an imposter as Kate or something.

They already have. It's literally called a kill notification.

It's a complete cluster fuck. Either release a true image, or don't release one at all.

Yup. This is an own goal and one that should have been avoided by their team.

No photo. A simple statement to say she spent the day with the children and wishes all mothers a happy day.

There would have been grumbles and speculation, of course, but not on this scale and none she had to 'apologise' for.

It's an utterly preventable disaster from KP. They have caused all this themselves. If they have pretended that an old photo is one that was taken by William last week and she's really not well enough for a photo, a nice message from her, no photo or just the children or an old one of her and her mother ( a million photos-Willam and Diana)- saying thanks for all the good wishes, not feeling up to public photos would have at least been honest. Kate manipulating one of Williams photos to such an extent that it fails the photographic equivalent of plagiarism software, and no one at KP picking up that press agencies have had to do this for years to ensure the pictures they publish aren't too altered is beyond belief. How can so many staff get this so badly wrong? Someone at KP will get the sack when probably Kate and Wills have told them to publish an amateurish photoshopped image. If this is true and Kate just went OTT with the photoshop, she should keep them for personal use.

It’s the complacency and arrogance that is unsettling to the general public I think.
Similar to when Prince Andrew did his Emily Maitlis interview. When we’re lied to and question it , Kate apologises for ‘the confusion’. But we’re not confused so much as feeling duped.

ChatBFP · 11/03/2024 12:14

This is really very silly of KP. It is totally understandable that C doesn't want to be photographed right now, but why pretend that she was photographed recently post surgery when it is clear that is not the case.

They just should have been firm, stuck to their guns. Or Catherine could have posted some pictures of cards she has got online or something like that in a more authentic voice and tone.

A personal family photo that was manipulated and sent to the worlds news agencies. It can't have just been a touch up, or the press would issue kill cities on about 99% of images.

Nice how the woman takes the blame out of the couple.

how can you tell that it was someone other than the Princess of Wales who edited the photo in such an amateur way? Do tell...

She did @HappierTimesAhead

General public = please buy this new £799 phone, it allows you to use AI to manipulate your images so your social media posts are always perfect!

Royal family = no, you're not allowed to edit your photos. Also, please supply us with your intimate, personal medical information. Thanks!

Whitecushion · 11/03/2024 12:18

It's a shame we live in a society where someone is afraid to have a photograph showing their moon face.( If that is the reason)
I've had steroid treatment so know the effects .

Amateur enough that it was picked up on but extensive by the looks of it. I find it unbelievable that the Royal Family, with all their wealth and advisors, would allow Kate to be the one to edit a photo that is then released to the worlds media. She's not Katie Price!

Exactly and the agencies do allow minor editing.

they habe software that can detect editing, and it’s clear it’s the clothes and surroundings being edited. Not the faces. So it’s Kate and the kids and is a genuine photo.

simply it’s pre surgery and they have recoloured rhe clothes to hide that facr. Some forensic software can revert it back to the original , so it’s likely the agencies know this is an old photo and have pulled it as it’s fake news and they won’t be responsible for that.

Can we stop repeating the bizarre comment 'kill!. Sounds as melodramatic as the news agencies.

Some media companies have massively overreacted to a family pic. I hope W&K ensure they are removed from their circulation lists in future.

I really hope for Kate’s sake that the media can’t prove the image wasn’t actually edited by her and that her statement is yet another lie…

It's already been withdrawn & they apologised for "confusion"

I don't think the agencies would have pulled it for "a few irrelevant tweaks".

I agree that they shouldn't. It wouldn't be good to bow to the pressure when it's something she clearly wants to keep private. I also think it wouldn't work - whatever they say, people will question it, say it's a lie, say that they had similar and recovered quicker, call it a cover up.
So she'd lose her privacy for not much gain I think.

It’s not that simple though. If she shows herself puffy it will effectively prove steroids, then starts to ramp up the speculation on why she needs steroids.

Novella4 · 11/03/2024 12:21

The KP statement said William took this photo THIS WEEK

  1. Did William take it ( minor issue but part of the narrative) ?
  2. Is this an accurate representation of Kate this week ?
No one forced them to release a photo ‘taken by William this week ‘ That’s the issue and that is the mess the ‘royals’ created themselves .

Right, so you just made your claim up.

If I'd had say a hysterectomy or a colostomy, a mental breakdown or anything intimate I wouldn't want the entire world knowing about it really.
