Christ. The comments on this are utterly bonkers. Bonkers. Folk have too much time on their hands. She’s had an op, we were told she’d be off until Easter. Folk seeking something when there is nothing there.

Onand · 11/03/2024 10:45

Amateur photographer or amateur photo manipulator? That photo wasn’t ‘taken’, it’s more of a collage if anything.

ivowtotheemybiscuittin · 11/03/2024 10:45

But even if you felt the need to edit a picture, why all the little things that are manipulated on this image? The Daily Mail points out 16 errors on it. I get that you might delete the dog crapping in the background of an otherwise perfect picture or get rid of that huge zit on your chin, but we're talking hands, sleeves, random things on clothing....
And it's not exactly Kate typing the apology, it's the staff at Kensington Palace.

EasternStandard · 11/03/2024 10:46

Do agencies lift this stuff from IG or get sent the image?

If they take it and print they should have checked first rather than kill notice saga

sunglassesonthetable · 11/03/2024 10:47

Which clearly they didn't expect, because otherwise they wouldn't have released it at all.

@CrispsandCheeseSandwich

That's the story really.Someone's getting a kick up the arse in KP today.

Mirabai · 11/03/2024 10:47

As a Republican this is all hilarious.

It’s very obviously a professional photo badly photoshopped, and she’s very obviously had her hair and makeup professionally done for the shoot. If she has the energy to do that and fiddle around with photoshop, why isn’t she out and about?

newusern99 · 11/03/2024 10:48

I have looked at the photo closely this morning. To me the edge of the skirt could just be the way that the skirt folded when Charlotte sat down. The zip also looks fine to me. What I originally thought after reading a comment on here about a grey cardigan sleeve actually I now think is Kate's sleeve and Charlotte's skirt. So the only thing missing is a bit of red cardigan near the wrist. I suspect Kate decided to try to break up the pink colour between Charlotte's body and arm and the touch up went a bit wrong.

How much energy does it take to sit still whilst someone does your hair and make up? It’s harder work to do it yourself.

Larasbra · 11/03/2024 10:50

I manipulate lots of my photos. 🤷

Namechange25793 · 11/03/2024 10:50

For gods sake the woman has spoken and she got caught out with some dodgy Photoshop edits. Leave her be now!

With all the stupid conspiracy theories swirling around, the public won’t be happy until they release a proof of life video with her stating something current. Even then, some people will claim it’s AI!

They really can’t win, can they?

After this experience, I expect Catherine is reevaluating whether she wants to be part of this absolute circus. It’s enough to drive anyone into a mental health crisis. Can you imagine having to cope with this situation when you’re unwell. It’s just so inhumane and reminds me of the way Diana was treated which resulted in her death.

So sad.

Quizine · 11/03/2024 10:50

I am reading the thread to find out what the fuss is about. I am sincerely honest when I say I just saw a pic of K and the kids yesterday and thought, oh that's nice. And forgot about it.

But I suppose I am not allowed to do that, I should be dissecting the pic for every nuance and fault.

I have zero time for the RF btw. So maybe I am just not interested enough!

Clearinguptheclutter · 11/03/2024 10:51

I think the only way to get out of this mess is to publish the original (s).

pootlin · 11/03/2024 10:51

AP, Getty and Reuters are not just US, they have bases in the UK as well.

It says what the "manipulation" is in here. Looks like bad use of photoshop and media hysteria rather than anything sinister

My brother is a professional photographer - Photoshop is 100% normal in portraits.
He took pics that I was in once- I noticed I looked 'better' somehow- he said he'd photoshopped everyone - whiter teeth, sparkling eyes, unblemished skin.
It didn't look obvious..but people liked the pics!
Royal pics absolutely will have been photoshopped, hence 'snaps' that people take of Royals show them as more blemished/wrinkly/bald than official pics,

Couldn’t agree more. I feel really sorry for them. She is probably pretty fragile at the moment and this might just be the last straw.

It’s got to be washed and blow-dried, you have to sit some time in an upright chair which may be painful after abdominal surgery I have an AI illness and I have to be feeling strong for the hairdresser.

Dymaxion · 11/03/2024 10:53

@TheSnowyOwl They took the photo from the Palace’s Instagram.

Ah OK, I don't know why I thought it would be sent to the agencies ? Seems odd to take it from instagram, makes their role a bit defunct, because anyone can do that ?

Seaweed42 · 11/03/2024 10:54

As other poster said earlier, amateur photographer epic fail.

Poor Kate. She's probably sitting in tears now going 'I can't even be be a fucking photographer and get it right!'

Poor woman will probably never issue one of her own photos again.

I feel Kate is taking the fall for the image. Maybe William hit the roof and they realised the only way the whole thing will die down is if Kate takes personal responsibility because she's the person at the centre of it all.

Find it hard to believe that after so many decades as one of the most famous people on the planet and getting photographed for a living, she doesn't have an inkling of what images can be released via news agencies. And that nobody from the PR team or any of their personal assistants caught the mistakes while checking it over?

The image was definitely not just lifted from their social media. There was an extremely high-resolution version in circulation, probably distributed via AP, Getty, Reuters etc. The DM published an extreme close-up of Charlottes hand in a level of detail that's impossible to achieve from a social media jpg.

…. But interested enough to click on a thread about it, and write a comment 😁

that is proof of you being interested I’d say

Mirabai · 11/03/2024 10:56

Personally - I don’t think she had anything to do with the photoshop. Any more than William took the snap. i don’t know what’s going on but it smells like bullshit.

FrustatedAgain · 11/03/2024 10:56

Of course it's been manipulated, the picture contains 3 young children all looking the same way, no one has their eyes closed, they are all smiling!!
Yes she hasn't got her priceless rings on because she's at home with these 3 young children! Painting, playdough, slime, gardening, I bet she has them off most of the time!

Phillippeflop · 11/03/2024 10:57

i don’t understand why they didn’t stick with their original stance of - Kate is poorly and recovering and will not be seen until after Easter. They shouldn’t have moved from this.

this photo that is obviously doctored (doubtfully by Kate imo) has caused so much hassle for them. They didn’t need it to happen.

Where’s home? Obviously not the UK as that’s Europe and you appear to not be living there anymore. Not sure what living in Europe’s got to do with anything as I live in Europe (England). How are you so knowledgeable then, got a mate In KP have you?

Not sure why you are being so aggressive?

What I was trying to say is that foreign media do not have the cosy arrangement with William that the English media do so they are more honest x

crumpet · 11/03/2024 10:58

It’s a nice photo. That’s all there is to say about it. It might not be technically very good (I know nothing about photography or photoshop etc), but it remains a nice photo.
