It's not just a bit edited, it's heavily photoshopped. And since they've gone to such lengths, why didn't they add on her wedding ring? What were the terms for making this photo? And why can't she be with the kids for a photo? It seems like something is seriously wrong imo and the Palace has little choice but to give more info now.

What is wrong with the children’s smiles? Can see the issues with other areas circled but what’s the thoughts re the smiles? And Charlotte’s knee?

it’s a strange old going on, obviously going to cause further speculation but I hope at the heart of it there isn’t a very poorly mum to 3 kids

AIstolemylunch · 11/03/2024 01:55

This is v weird. These people have access to the best photographers, the best photo editing agencies etc. Why would they do such a crap job? This photo was always going to be spotted as some sort of heavily manipulated, bizarre fake. So weird. Almost like someone is seding a message.

DontLeanOnTheKeyboard · 11/03/2024 02:14

Manipulated or not, well done her for getting into those skinny jeans so soon after this major abdominal surgery that has kept her out of sight.

DontLeanOnTheKeyboard · 11/03/2024 02:18

And…the things people are saying are photoshopped on the kids - why would they? If it is then possibly on Kate I could see why because she is always ‘perfect’ but altering the kids seems pointless?

I looked up similarly orientated pics. This one the nose looks wrong (possible head tilted slightly
upwards in the second pic) but her jawline and nose to mouth lines are pretty much spot on. As many others have said, she looks steroid swollen. But also, it’s a very zoomed in photo in a moving car.

The eyebrows don't match.

Wellnotme · 11/03/2024 01:20

The fact that it’s photoshopped isn’t a big deal. Pretty much every picture you see will be tweaked.

It’s the media’s public ‘pulling’. They know it’s misleading and aren’t playing ball with the RF. Doing this is going to cause hassle and embarrassment for them and they’ve done it anyway.

Let’s not forget the fact that they have a relationship with the royals and make money from them. These photos are released to their picture agencies by the royals.

Grendell · 11/03/2024 02:30

Highly recommend popping over to X formerly known as Twitter to see some of the posts since this is #1 trending. The skinny jeans post surgery, speculation the photo was taken with another women and photoshopping in Kate's face, etc.

The RF is not doing itself any favors.

Ger1atricMillennial · 11/03/2024 02:30

I really don't understand the fuss. People are asking questions about, Kate so they release a photo. A) she has been recovering from abdominal surgery which is not fun and games b) PW took the photo, he isn't a professional photographer then someone photoshopped it in a rush, because she might have looked terrible and isn't ready to talk about it. Not everyone feels comfortable displaying their personal suffering.

It's hardly conspiracy of the year...

HelloMiss · 11/03/2024 02:30

Is it only me who can't see a single thing wrong and didn't get an 'off' feeling when seeing it?

I still can't see anything wrong with it!

Off with her head…

I think they’ve photo shopped in another head for her as her face looks like it has studio lighting and the kids look like their faces have a different kind of lighting.

Cnon · 11/03/2024 02:43

Needmorelego · 10/03/2024 22:54

Sky are reporting about the removal of the picture - while showing a picture of the picture 🤔

ROFL!

HelloMiss · 11/03/2024 02:45

For a 'pulled' photo I'm seeing it everywhere!

ICouldGoOnAnon · 11/03/2024 02:58

Kate’s left hand looks wrong. The finger at the top looks like a little finger. The finger at the bottom also looks like a little finger, except the knuckles line up with the ring and middles fingers, and it’s longer than the top finger.

HelloMiss · 11/03/2024 03:03

It all looks fine to me!!

AIstolemylunch · 11/03/2024 03:16

Have you got your glasses on?

Very badly photoshopped.

Primrosecottagelover · 11/03/2024 03:33

If Kate was really swollen and that unrecognisable, surely rumours would have started at ‘ground zero’ Lambrook school. She’s surely been spotted at drop off even in the car. Unless there’s a more private & organised system in UK for drop off. Why not one Lambrook parent has commented with informarion ? Given all the wild rumours.

Only 20 days until she’s due ‘back at work’ so we will soon find out.

Yesterday the speculating was the domain of those that need to get a life (me). Now the speculation has gone mainstream. Even the most sycophantic of royal experts is speculating. Richard Eden is even going to stop defending them

Kensington Palace not commenting when a ‘kill notice’ has been issued by the likes of Reuters and reputabke agencies, is beyond arrogant.

The message really is that they simply don’t care what the public think or they’d rather this than whatever the truth is.

I don’t think it’s illness - why not just say she’s very unwell and it was a serious surgery and issue updates that she’s improving. Say to some trusted Editors off the record that medical staff have advised she’s out of the limelight and needs both physical rest & mental test. Say that stress would exacerbate her physical condition & slow her recovery.

This could have been handled so much better.

Many things could be true here - she could be unwell and that physical issue impacted by stress. She could be revising her lifestyle and obligations as a consequence and that’s causing friction with the palace and her husband.

I get the feeling there’s a Mexican standoff & a shake up is in order.

Primrosecottagelover · 11/03/2024 03:35

It also seems like there’s some push and pull and they can’t get a position together, form a good spin, angle & hold on this because there’s friction. Disagreements with Charles or disagreements between Kate & William
about how to handle it and what info to release. Possibly even disagreements over her role and the focus on her going forward.

i Mean for KP to not even bother coming up with any response, it’s all weird. I think their staff are in crisis as are they

Where??

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 11/03/2024 04:02

Poor woman can’t even recover in peace. Don’t blame them if photoshopped. Currently on steroids and bed rest and if I had to haul myself up for a photo to satisfy the public I’d not be happy about it or about the way I currently look. I’d have photoshopped it to heaven and back to make myself look presentable.

You won't find me on the Royal Family threads, but I have to admit that this BBC comment from 3 March did make even me wonder whether more is going on than Kate's abdominal surgery:
Kate, the King and three other big challenges for the royals - BBC News
especially this part:
'And I predict a big change when pictures eventually appear, which they will, and there's some reassurance.'
Is the BBC's Royal correspondent hinting at something here and going as far as he dare?

Even before this official KP photo was found to be manipulated and was withdrawn, I found myself doubting that it had been taken recently. I don't know, just like I don't know whether or not the woman photographed in the car was Kate, or why William withdrew at the last minute from the service for his godfather. I do think it has all fuelled speculation and has been handled terribly badly by KP on the PR front. If the photo was released in response to feeling the pressure from the media and social media for one, no photo would have been better than an obviously heavily doctored one. If Kate is recovering from surgery, then she is entitled to the time and privacy to do that just like anybody else, and to protect her children from media reports. A written message thanking people for their cards and support would have been enough and better than this photo.

If we are to see 'changes' after Easter, then perhaps Kate has taken the opportunity to have cosmetic surgery while she is out of the public eye recovering from the abdominal surgery? Perhaps with Charles' treatment for cancer, William and Kate will be taking over at least some of his duties? Perhaps they have separated? No idea, but no doubt we will know at some point soon enough.

From experience, I feel for any family where there are serious health issues going on, especially with children to think about.

Noz they done, and if they do, it's not as many as on the tree in the photograph.

No way was that taken in January, February or early March.

I was wrong to post that article as I did, the changes they were referring to were I think about the public’s concern. Once she reappears we will all calm down.
