We’re (me, dp and our 2 year old) going to the zoo, swimming (at a place with a toddler play part) and to an all you can eat buffet 🥰

DS is home from uni for the weekend.

We’ll get up, walk the dog, nice breakfast, go visit my mum and MIL, then home for a lazy afternoon.

I’ll be making a roast dinner for the 3 of us, trying out a slow cooker beef recipe, DS will help.

Decafflatteplease · 09/03/2024 18:36

Swim and the zoo in one day @mummumisme😱

DH and DC say I can choose what we do tomorrow and I can't decide! So far I'm thinking tea in bed and takeaway for dinner but no ideas on the daytime! Options are swimming, nature reserve, park type things

StringUnravelled · 09/03/2024 18:45

Postponing it until next Sunday when Ds1 is home from uni for Easter. Sadly both my Mum and MIL are no longer with us so it is only about me. We do a low key family day at home and I love it. Dh and the children who are now all adults will do an afternoon tea beautifully presented. I am very blessed.

Having my mum over for lunch. Kids have bought me a present (already told me what it is) and will help cook.

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 09/03/2024 19:12

DM and mil coming for dinner, playing games etc. Which I am looking forward to now, wasn’t previously.

CommeIlFaut · 09/03/2024 19:13

Sounds lovely OP.

Here it’s a swim then breakfast- eggs florentine and an English muffin. Then off to the Mothering Sunday service (DD is in the church choir.) Maybe a little dog walk before heading out to the local gastropub for a late lunch. Teen DC want to watch Oppenheimer in the afternoon and DH has promised to get uniforms ready and fold 584 tonnes of laundry 🙂

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 09/03/2024 19:17

I'm going on a craft course for most of the day! Really looking forward to it. I'm also buying myself a fairly expensive present - a second-hand musical instrument whichI'm planning to take up again after not playing since I was 15. I've had flowers already from my teenage dc (one is away at university and will probably phone tomorrow), which arrived early. Will probably watch a film with dh and ds in the evening.

KnottyKnitting · 09/03/2024 19:30

Nothing.

DD1 is away.

DD2 is working from 9am- 10 pm in a pub where they do Mother's Day breakfast/ brunch followed by Mother's Day afternoon teas and roasts, followed by Mother's Day a la carte in the evening...

Oh and it's my turn to have my DF ( who will be totally unaware that it is Mother's Day) for Sunday dinner so I have to cook a full roast and wash up afterwards with no help Followed by picking DD2 up from work so I can't even have a glass of wine 🙄

RoseBucket · 09/03/2024 20:13

Working, caring for challenging and violent people. Will see my daughter when we are both next free at the same time.

DappledThings · 09/03/2024 20:14

Going to be sacrificing my lie-in to have time to put the whole family through nit treatment first thing!

ShinyBandana · 09/03/2024 20:21

Breakfast in bed,: cards and small gifts from the kids facilitated by DH. Then I’ll be cooking up a storm ready for my parents who are coming for lunch. Walking dogs in the beach after lunch and then I’ve scheduled a nap 💤

Sirzy · 09/03/2024 20:21

Ds is autistic and struggles with things like Mother’s Day, so tomorrow will just be a normal Sunday for us.

Ratfinkstinkypink · 09/03/2024 20:22

Meeting up with some of the children I previously fostered, very much looking forward to it.

pumpkinpiee · 09/03/2024 20:23

Having a low key day at home, DH is cooking a roast

HelloMiss · 09/03/2024 20:23

Off to spend the afternoon with my lovely MIL Smile

MonkeyPuddle · 09/03/2024 20:24

DS will give me the bag of mini eggs he bought for me with my money that I bought from the corner shop 😂
we’re going to pub for tea with my mum and sister, there’s a free G&T on the app!

Titsywoo · 09/03/2024 20:25

Only 1 child here as DD is at uni. We are doing some decorating in the morning then going to MILs for lunch.

Multipleexclamationmarks · 09/03/2024 20:26

It's dhs birthday too so we're sharing it.
Hopefully a lie in (teenagers) followed by gifts for him (and Hopefully a little bit for me)
Lunch out at a nice restaurant, home to relax and a small picky tea.

Pineapplewaves · 09/03/2024 20:27

DC have already given me flowers as DP bought them today and didn't want to leave them in garage overnight. I'll get homemade cards tomorrow (from school and nursery that I am pretending I don't know about) and a couple of presents, otherwise it will be a normal day. I do the same for Father's Day - DP will get cards and a gift and it will be a normal day otherwise.

Allthegoodusernamesareused · 09/03/2024 20:29

I'm working (from home) tomorrow, but DD2 will be making my breakfast and bringing it to me at my desk. Then DD2 and DH will go and visit his Mum. I took flowers to my Mum's grave this afternoon, as I won't get a chance tomorrow. DD1 is away at uni but will facetime me when we've both finished work.

SgtJuneAckland · 09/03/2024 20:30

Gym in the morning, it's my favourite class of the week. I've heard whispers today of a surprise brunch at home when I get back (DS is helping and it also seems to involve hiding 🤷‍♀️) , walk on the beach - weather permitting, and I know there's a table booked for 4, I've not been told where but I'm guessing our local pub because I love their sunday roast. I also know that DS made a purchase from the PTA stall (£2 an item on the PTA stall and each child is only allowed to buy one item per mum) because he wouldn't let me look in his book bag last week until he'd gone upstairs with it and I heard him pull out the desk under his midsleeper which is his favourite hiding spot. I think DH would've helped him buy a present too but I'm not fussed about that bit to be honest.

MikeRafone · 09/03/2024 20:33

Working
spending the late afternoon with dd2 hopefully curled up on the sofa with a nice cup of hot chocolate & a film

TheFancyPoet · 09/03/2024 20:33

It happened that we had a coupon for a museum miles and miles away ( almost three counties away ??? or two), so until get there, will have snacks on the way, will do the visit, and have to be back home not too very late.

LoserWinner · 09/03/2024 20:36

Kew Gardens with DD. We don’t generally make a thing of Mothering Sunday, but it just seemed like a nice thing to do and a good day to do it.

MumChp · 09/03/2024 20:37

None. Means zero to me.
