We’re (me, dp and our 2 year old) going to the zoo, swimming (at a place with a toddler play part) and to an all you can eat buffet 🥰

Probably nothing as we're not in the UK and I doubt DD knows it is Mother's Day.

MinervatheGreat · 09/03/2024 20:45

Fetching mum for lunch at mine. She’ll love that as I rarely cook for her. Flowers and a card await her too.

Later, taking my mum for afternoon tea at my daughter’s place. I know DD will do me and her Grandma “proud!” She’s an amazing hostess.

Im looking forward to it.

Meeting up with some of the children I previously fostered, very much looking forward to it.

Ah that's lovely - you must have been very special to them

Single parent to a teen who needs to be at work for 7am. We need to leave home at 6:30 to get there. I’ll come home, do a bit of work work, plan dinnner and pick them up at 3pm.

Dinner (cooked by me) and relaxing together, which is every Sunday tbh. Lovely.

LindorDoubleChoc · 09/03/2024 20:53

My DH and 20 year old son and I are going to the pub for lunch.

LouLou198 · 09/03/2024 20:56

Not expecting much, as I have been told by dh "I am not his mum".
Bought nice croissants for breakfast, hopefully dc will bring to me in bed!
My mum is coming for lunch which will be lovely. I will nip out at some point to collect the Neom gift box I have ordered for myself Smile. I've had a craving for a carvery all week, but don't fancy going out when it will be so busy, so have had everything delivered today and will make my own.
Have a lovely day OP Flowers

Mumofyellows · 09/03/2024 20:57

My daughter is away at Uni, she sent a present for me which I collected from
John Lewis earlier and it was very lovely! So tomorrow will be a normal Sunday; dog walk, roast, chill out before another busy week. I expect DH will give me a couple of cute little gifts from the dogs! ❤️

Whattheduck · 09/03/2024 21:03

Dd is working tomorrow 10 til 3 and Dh goes away for work tomorrow
Going to visit my mum
Take the dog for a walk
Going to cook a roast for when Dd gets home then going to see friends in the evening

RabbitsRock · 09/03/2024 21:18

Feeling sad as I doubt DD15 even knows it’s Mother’s Day tomorrow. She hasn’t done anything for a few years now. DM has just been discharged from hospital & unfortunately picked up an infection. I popped round briefly today with a card & will go again in the week with flowers or a plant. I’m working tomorrow then at the end of my shift will spend a gift voucher I’ve had since Christmas. DH & I might have an Indian delivered for tea but my tum’s been a bit dodgy today so will see how I feel. Dmil is sadly no longer with us.

stayathomer · 09/03/2024 21:21

Work (but a nice day of it and only til 4) then going visiting mil, then tv and cake (bought by me in the shopping last week to be sure😅)

familyissues12345 · 09/03/2024 21:22

We were due to visit DS at his Uni town, but he decided to come home instead! So we're off out for dinner and bowling.

stayathomer · 09/03/2024 21:22

RabbitsRock
would you not tell your dd? I rang my brother and told my kids. Hope it’s an ok day x

Nudgethatjudge · 09/03/2024 21:24

DP just set off travelling to visit his mum.
DS1 took me out for lunch today because he's away training for his hobby tomorrow. It was lovely to chat with him uninterrupted.

Tomorrow I will walk the dog hopefully with the remaining DS's. Then have croissants and goodies.
Goodness knows if the other DS's have cards/treats.... DP been away all week so little prompting....

I'm off to help with a group of disabled adults doing art late afternoon and I know there's going to be extra lovely cakes.

And I won't be making an evening meal.

Whiskers4 · 09/03/2024 21:25

Working, suspect I'll need to stay on after my shift. DD is permanently living at home for the first Mothers Day in six years and I suspect her and new boyfriend are cooking for me un evening. If not, a glass of something after work will go down nicely.

RandomUsernameHere · 09/03/2024 21:31

We're (DH, DCs and I) going to my DParents' house for lunch. I suggested going out for lunch so my DMum doesn't have to cook, but she'd prefer to as everywhere will be so busy!

JessicaBrassica · 09/03/2024 21:36

Well... The chickens haven't laid enough eggs for cinnamon buns for breakfast. Apparently dh and dc haven't forgotten so that's a win!

I need a 10mi + bike ride to test my new bike, I need to visit my demented father and I need to finish last week's work. Watch a film with DS and something with DD and finish a jigsaw.

Mother's day not a massive thing in this house.

MrsKarlUrban · 09/03/2024 21:47

Got my mum and dad and the kids coming round for coffee and pastries brunch time ❤️
Then a nap 😴
DP will FaceTime his mum and see her next week 💕
DP off to shop to get some lovely crusty bread and cheeses and meats etc (my choice 😀)
Death in paradise
Bed 😴😴

MaMisled · 09/03/2024 21:57

DD1 is working tomorrow so we went out yesterday for 7 glorious hours of eating, shopping and laughing. Tomorrow DH and I are meeting DD2 and DS by a quiet bit of coast for a walk with the dogs and a picnic. I'm really looking forward to it. ( I don't have a Mum or MIL)

StaunchMomma · 09/03/2024 22:42

Little lie in, breakfast with DP & DS, late Sunday lunch with Mum & Nan (and rest of family) then a quiet evening. Most importantly, all will be done in the gorgeous pair of PJs I know DS has got me for Mother's Day ❤

IggOrEgg · 09/03/2024 22:45

Not a lot I don’t think. I’m having a lie in then we’re going to take DS (2yo) to the beach for a splash about. I’ll probably do a roast, might see PIL (saw my own mother today)

HeraSyndulla · 09/03/2024 22:48

I’ll be at work from 6.30 but I’ll try and drop in to see my mother on the way home in the evening.

Easipeelerie · 09/03/2024 22:57

Nothing. DD is nearly 18 so might have thought to get me a card.

Mindovermatter247 · 09/03/2024 22:59

No significant plans, it’s just another day in our house, I’ll be changing beds and ironing as usual…. Dd11 is off out with my sister to london for the day, so I am one child down. Which is perfect because it just so happens she’s the loud one. So it will be very quiet.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/03/2024 23:44

DC are adults (still live with us)

DD is cooking , I bought some M&S ready to cook ( but I'll do chips or roast potatoes ) . I really couldn't face going out for food on Mothers Day , it'd be manic .
I'll drive DS to his guitar class and collect him.

I've just put a loaf on to cook (breadmaker ) to have toast and jam , coffee , do a hair mask , face pack , nice shower .

I know they;ve bought cards . I ordered a dress for my present , I don't eat chocolate much and we can;t have vases of flowers as the cats would push them over .

Might have a potter round the garden, see what's growing .

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 09/03/2024 23:54

Break fast
open gifts from the children
church
take away lunch
afternoon nap and then go to work night shift.
