We’re (me, dp and our 2 year old) going to the zoo, swimming (at a place with a toddler play part) and to an all you can eat buffet 🥰

I am absolutely blessed. My adult sons, their beautiful wives and all my grandchildren are at my home already. We always have a lovely, joyful time together. Oh and my younger son’s dog is here who I love beyond words. My day will be filled with love and laughter. 🥰

Disneydatknee88 · 10/03/2024 00:06

It is also my birthday so double presents! I usually have a self care Sunday so plan to do that anyway. I'm winging it in the morning, nice bubble bath and relax and have board games planned for the afternoon with the kids(as weather is crap here) and a takeaway later so I don't have to cook.

PurplePositivity · 10/03/2024 06:22

We always have an 'oldie' visiting Sunday which includes DH's parents, my Mum & DH's grandad.

Grandad in law is end of life so it's getting quite distressing seeing him.

DS's both work in hospitality at a weekend so it's their busy time. To be honest I'll be happy with a card and a cuddle!

About to go to work, back around 5.15pm (hopefully). DH usually cooks tonight, but I think DD is. She's away right now, but will be back around teatime.

WYorkshireRose · 10/03/2024 07:08

We have a class party this afternoon for DS(5), so Mother's Day will be spent at a trampoline park. Or possibly DH will take him if I'd prefer the couple of hours to rest, haven't decided yet.

Afterwards, we're heading over to my DMum, as she recently moved into our area and hasn't had the chance to cook for us yet in her new house, so she's insisting on making Sunday lunch.

Meeting up with some of the children I previously fostered, very much looking forward to it.

That's beautiful ❤️

Wizzadorra70 · 10/03/2024 07:22

We're on holiday - stupidly booked it without looking at the dates. I've never not seen our lovely thoughtful adult DC on MD before and it's rattled me far more than I thought. We normally all have sunday lunch or something at home. But I'm their Mum 365 days a year, not just today and once our bloody dogs have settled where we are staying I'm hoping this week will be the relax that was planned Grin

AuntieMarys · 10/03/2024 07:24

Just about to go to the gym, then home. Dh working. Adult dcs live 250 miles away.
A lovely peaceful day reading.

MumofSpud · 10/03/2024 08:01

Dog walk with my own own DM in the morning then meeting up with DS and DGD for coffee
When I get home DD might be up (18) and I know she has bought me flowers and v surprisingly she didn't mean too much when I asked her to help out with the supermarket shop yesterday (she got them then)

Then just preparing for the week ahead (lesson planning)

veggie50 · 10/03/2024 08:02

The plan was to do NOTHING all day but the dog who didn't get the brief woke me up at 4:00 this morning and then again at 6:00 with the help of the other dog. While the my DH and DD snoozed (they offered to walk the dogs, cook all the meals and do all the housework but not until they are actually awake I'm guessing!) I emptied the dishwasher, put the washing in the machine and started putting together next Sainsbury online shopping list...sigh!
Got some nice cards and lovely Irregular Choice shoes (a mumsnet introduction) though!

Soccermumamir · 10/03/2024 08:06

DS1 has just gone to a football match, ds2 is still in bed. OH just made my breakfast. Then I'm off to the gym, then a Sunday dinner later.
Tonight it will be 'The walking dead' marathon lol 😆

HotChocWine · 10/03/2024 08:14

Quiet day here, DC are teens so won't be up this side of lunch
Already heard from DD who has moved out
Will do a roast later

YouAndMeAndThem · 10/03/2024 08:20

I'm working at 9.30 but my 2 (with Daddy's help!) delivered me a lovely breakfast in bed of a bacon roll and a doughnut, with coffee. They brought me handmade cards, and presents, and had chosen me a new coffee mug! They were so excited!! A lovely treat, just a shame I have to work 🤣

MinnieMountain · 10/03/2024 08:20

DS has made me breakfast in bed. I’m taking him to hockey training this morning whilst DH sees MIL.

We’re having steak in front of the TV later and no one is allowed to moan about my choice of film 😁

Hopingforno2in2024 · 10/03/2024 08:21

DS has a football match this morning and then we are going out for a lovely Sunday lunch. In the evening I am helping out at the church Mother’s Day service.

WinchSparkle80 · 10/03/2024 08:31

Hoping for a lovely coffee from DH who makes them everyday for me.
Take kiddos to see my Mum, whilst DH makes a roast lunch.
Might get a card/gifts from kiddos - trying to reduce stuff in our house.

Watch tv show rest of the day with cuddles, m&s mimosa mix and then usual uniform ironing and bed changing.

Maverickess · 10/03/2024 08:41

Just having half an hour before getting ready for work and heading off. It's going to be manic today with other people celebrating, I'm ready for it but just hope that people aren't too unreasonable today, be quite nice to not get shouted at.
I'll be home around 9 if I get out on time and hopefully be able to call at my mum's if it's not too late for her present and a fleeting visit. DD will probably be home when I get home and I might get a cup of tea before I collapse into bed.

Sleeplesnights · 10/03/2024 08:43

Nice chilled day. Chinese takeaway later and watch "Damsel" and "Gavin and Stacey" later.

IcouldbutIdontwantto · 10/03/2024 08:52

Nothing - it's raining, and we're all knackered after a busy week. So I'll probably do a bit of housework, DH will entertain DD (he's been away with work the last couple of days so hasn't seen her), and we'll watch too much TV 😆.

43ontherocksporfavor · 10/03/2024 08:57

DD1 lives away but have opened a very funny moonpig card from her- probably speak later as she’ll be in bed if last night’s WhatsApp photos are anything to go by.
DD2 is at her boyfriend’s and back later so will see her then. DH is off to see his mum and I’m off to the cemetery to bring some daffs to my DM. It’s my birthday this month so Mother’s Day is bad timing .😬

Thecomfortador · 10/03/2024 09:08

Quiet day here, I think there are some home made cards kicking about somewhere if they remember to give them to me. Otherwise just hoping to be left alone for a snooze at some point and maybe a croissant and hot chocolate would be nice. Sent my mum a card but missed the post Thursday so don't know if it will have arrived. Interesting to see the different expectations of mother's day here. To me it's just a bit of a non event.

devildeepbluesea · 10/03/2024 09:14

I’ve already walked the dog (I miss it if I don’t do it) and am back in bed awaiting breakfast in bed and pressies.
DD is off for lunch with her granny and ExDH later. I have sanctioned this because I’m off to the pub for the rugby 🇫🇷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🤣

Ibuamnti · 10/03/2024 09:15

I'm currently preparing a lasagne that DH can bung in the oven while I drive one of the DC half way across the county for an emergency scan. DH will look after DGC (feed them ice cream and watch disney+) get home by 3, eat dinner, then movie and fall asleep on sofa by about 6ish I reckon.

Taylormiffed · 10/03/2024 09:17

Tidy up the house as I'm working a few extra hours this week and want to be on top of it. Felt poorly yesterday so couldn't do as much as I wanted.

Will hopefully get the teens to wagamama later as I want a tidy kitchen to start the week. No family nearby so won't be seeing my mum.

ViciousCurrentBun · 10/03/2024 09:20

I’m still recovering from being really ill. We are going to a small wooded lake that’s about a 15 min drive for a little walk. There is a lovely really ancient church nearby with a row of graves of a family from the mid 1800’s, no relation but they had multiple daughters die as children. I’m going to go there and say a little prayer for my own DD who died 10 years ago and to them and their poor Mother and Father who are buried there.

We are watching Napoleon this afternoon and DS is cooking dinner, we will also game together on our games consoles. DH is also unwell and became ill after me so really it’s all about DS doing everything. I think DS GF will be round this evening. That girl has bought so much joy to this house I feel blessed I know her.
