Does your cat supervise the laundry?

My cat tirelessly supervises every aspect of the laundry. She is extremely conscientious, especially when supervising the pegging out, which is her area of particular expertise.

I mentioned it to my mum, who said that her cat, Bob, also supervises the pegging out - and gets quite cross if he finds my mother has started without his supervision.

And then yesterday I was stuck on a train watching a man in his back garden peg out laundry under the watchful eye of his two cats.

Is this a universal thing? Does your cat supervise the laundry?

Dcat is in charge of the central heating. Checks with both sides to make sure heat is getting evenly distrubuted...

No, they only care about laundry to sit on (preferably the stinky stuff.. odd things)

I have a toilet flush/bath quality control supervisor, and a cupboard inspector Although I must 'accidentally' leave the cupboard open - it's not the same if I intentionally open it for her.

DS’s cat is supervising the expensive cashmere hoodie l got him for Christmas. He’s not allowed on it, but ds forgot for 2 minutes, and the cat ‘supervised’ it fast asleep for a 3 hour nap.

Ds removed it and his cat was crying looking for it.

The dog, a collie, supervises the loading/unloading of the washing machine. I've tried asking her to fetch the stuff out of the machine when washed, but she isn't keen on pulling wet stuff out, she does a bit then gives up.

She also lets us know the printer (in another room) is working properly.

I was uploading some stuff to Vinted last night, and both cars were supervising. (Selling on behalf of a friend. I would never wear such ugly sandals)

He isn’t the laundry supervisor, but this 17 year old DCat is currently Head of Crochet & Yarn Management on a rare day off today.

It’s just a scrap yarn granny square long cardi to use up my wool mountain, so at least I’m not juggling a pattern, cat and wool!

Absolutely.

Especially the sorting...she'll look from pile to pile, she might paw at an item or sniff and paw which I think is a sign it need a hotter wash in her opinion.

She sometimes sits on the pile. Presumably to indicate we shouldn't overload the machine.

At times she gives everything a final check by climbing up into the drum and checking the contents which has led to fears she might be missed and die one day after climbing in.

She also likes to watch the warm clothes coming out the dryer and will purr contendedly. It's quite sweet.

My old cat used to supervise my piano practice while sitting next to me on the stool. She saw going to the loo as a joint activity, using the litter tray beside the toilet, happily gazing up at me in enjoyment of a shared moment 😂

Mine likes to help me get dry after a shower by licking the water off my legs, he also likes to make sure we're brushing our teeth properly and demands to smell our breath after we've used mouthwash. Anything minty and he loves the smell.
