She is doing my head in.

Sure she'll do yours in too.

Free to a good home?

I'll exchange you for a grunting teenage boy who eats approx 28 meals a day.
Just for a change.

MedievalNun · 06/03/2024 18:47

<<<hugs>>> but sorry, no. I am only just recovering from mine 😘but it does get better. I promise. Do you have a friend in a similar situation? I found that if we swapped stroppy teens for a few hours it helped. As did wine. Far too much wine. And headphones.

Good luck xx

ilovebagpuss · 06/03/2024 18:48

I've got 2 already @lucysmam sorry I can't squeeze another in!
They can be delightful and trying from one day to the next!
My younger teen DD has barely said 2 words to me this week because I wouldn't let her have sick day off school.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 06/03/2024 18:50

It’s a cringeworthy experience looking back at my own adolescence, OP.

For I was that teenage girl.

😔My poor Mum.

Nomorecoconutboosts · 06/03/2024 18:53

I’ll swap…
it does get better eventually and slowly but my tongue is still sore from biting it
and then some days they say or do something lovely and briefly your heart melts

😂😂🤦🏻‍♀️ I have these years to come

Melly1991 · 06/03/2024 19:03

Does anyone want a 19 month old who only eats skips, her hair, and Oreo biscuits. Also her favourite was is 'No!'

bravelittlesmile · 06/03/2024 19:03

No. I remember what an absolute twat I was.

In fact off the back of this thread I'm going to buy my mum an extra expensive Mother's Day gift because I was awful 😂

piscofrisco · 06/03/2024 19:04

I've got two. If anyone wants them I'll also throw in two tween boys and a naughty Jack Russell terrier for free..chin up @lucysmam we'll miss em when they've moved out. Probably.

MrsMoastyToasty · 06/03/2024 19:04

I have a 1967 husband. Will accept exchange for a newer model.

Itsanothermanicmonday · 06/03/2024 19:05

No thanks. Mine is thankfully in year 1 at Uni and home at Easter. I have done my time and I am currently enjoying some well deserved respite. As I guarantee the scowling, dirty looks, storming off, cheeky comments etc etc will be back within 30 minutes of her getting back home.

RosesAndHellebores · 06/03/2024 19:05

Thankfully mine's now 25 and very responsible. It was difficult to predict 10 years ago.

I'll swap you with my husband. He's a 1985 but has farted about 8 times in 10 minutes and does the "ahhhh" sound when he sips a hot drink.

lucysmam · 06/03/2024 19:07

🤣 you lot have made me smile.

She's still doing my nut in though. She'll be fine tomorrow no doubt 🤷‍♀️

@Melly1991 does she share the oreos?? I could be persuaded...

I'll take her for a bit 😊

MrsMoastyToasty · 06/03/2024 19:11

@bravelittlesmile once they start to fail on emissions then you need to trade in. I was actually looking for a 1995 or newer model.

mine is showing signs of wear on top and is sporting the "beer belly " modification.

GoodnightJude1 · 06/03/2024 19:13

I had a lovely teen DD (now 24) and I have an equally lovely teen DD2.

I have a DS that is free to a good home though.

Igmum · 06/03/2024 19:15

I can offer one with brand new unused bedroom-tidy upgrade and total reluctance to do anything around the house.

SeaToSki · 06/03/2024 19:18

I have a DS to trade in, he is 23 and thinks he knows it all and should tell me how to improve myself. Im hoping eventually having dc of his own will show him how no one knows it all and we are all just scraping by barely in control of the essentials!

Oh I've a got one of those too! He's an adult and doesn't need my input into anything. He knows it all. Except for some reason, he can't seem to work out how to empty a bin, clean the shower after using it, wipe down the hob, load the dishwasher, empty the washing machine...I could go on!

Me too. At the time I was convinced it was all my mum, but now I know it was me. I’m reliving my teen years with DD. Would very much love to tell my mum that I’m sorry for being a know-it-all little poohead but alas she is no longer with us.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 06/03/2024 19:47

I still apologise on a regular basis to my Mum. She’s very forgiving and kindly tells me that I wasn’t as bad as my brother.

hendoop · 06/03/2024 19:58

I have 2 dp and find they are either lovely or horrid but never both in the same mood at the same time.

I feel like I live with a teen version of Gordon Ramsey - constant "advice" about my looks / driving / parenting of the other one
Then the moods

BrieAndChilli · 06/03/2024 20:02

Ive got 17 and 13 year old boys plus a 15 year old girl. Just send gin, and wine, oh and some chocolate. Sometimes they are nice but rarely all at the same time 😂

CoffeeBeansGalore · 06/03/2024 20:06

I've got through 2. You will survive!
Lots of gritted teeth (you) eye rolls, door slams & huffs (them).
Your lovely version of dd will reappear somewhere around 20 🤞
