Best coffee machine for my bedroom...

GlitteryEars · 29/02/2024 17:18

...I know that, that may be a little odd. But I am not a morning person and I need coffee as soon as possible to start the day.

I'm about to split from husband and he makes me coffee and brings it up to me. So I need a coffee machine in my bedroom then I will have no need for a man anymore!! Haha.

I'm terrible at choosing these things. What will make me a nice coffee quickly in the morning?...with no need for milk in my bedroom.

Thanks

I haven’t a clue as l don’t drink coffee but this for me seems like the height of luxury and l am jealous l don’t drink Coffee. I drink tea. Enjoy .

Dolce Gusto machine?

Midnlghtrain · 29/02/2024 17:22

Do you drink your coffee black? I'd invest in a cute Nespresso machine, it'll be easy to tidy up (literally just pods to recycle) and it's easy to store the pods in your room! Then you just need to pop water in periodically.

Cuisinart One Cup grind and brew

GlitteryEars · 29/02/2024 17:25

I drink white coffee. Do the pods include powdered milk? I guess I could use coffee mate if not.

I'm looking into dolce gusto now thanks. I'm not sure of the difference between the manual ones so far.

I have a Tassimo and it’s perfect for the bedroom.

Itsnotme33 · 29/02/2024 17:27

I've got a Tassimo Suny, there are other Tassimo ones too. Cheap and you can buy the milk and coffee pods. Quite a good selection and very quick and easy to use.

PS wishing you well for your fresh start too x

Bobbybobbins · 29/02/2024 17:29

My grandparents used to have a teasmade (sp?) in their bedroom and I thought it was amazing!

repopupieres · 29/02/2024 17:29

Dulce gusto - you can replace your man for about £30.

Manual, you switch the water on and then have to decide when to stop it.
The automatic, you switch the water on and it pours for a programmed amount of time - the recommended volume for the each of the capsules are different.

We used to have a Tassimo but the ones with milk powder in were absolutely rank, would you consider a little flask of milk to take up the night before.

They taste fine to me lol 😂 I use the separate milk pods, different ones for latte cappuccino etc.

StaceysDaughter · 29/02/2024 17:44

I take my coffee machine to bed when husband works away. I have a pod thing that takes costa americano pods, so just take one of those up with me at bedtime with a mug and spoonful of coffeemate in it! Everyone thinks I’m mad when I tell them, but it’s genius and means I still get my morning coffee in bed

BertieBotts · 29/02/2024 17:46

Tassimo as a lot of the pods contain the milk.

Or you can buy those little tiny pots of milk like they have in hotels on Amazon.

Midnlghtrain · 29/02/2024 17:55

Oo I definitely wouldn't go for a pod that contains milk - the powdered milk doesn't taste great to me. Tbh you could go the whole hog and get a mini fridge too for milk!! Treat yourself 😂

Geebray · 29/02/2024 17:56

I have a Tassimo with reusable coffee pods that I put my own ground coffee in. In your case, I would put a bit of milk in a cold flask and add it to your mug in the morning.

GlitteryEars · 29/02/2024 18:02

I quite like coffee mate so if the pods don't include milk that's what I would use. I don't want the faff of a fridge and milk. But thanks @Midnlghtrain for the permission to treat myself! I thought I might get bashed for being lazy by posting about this.

I'm a bit confused about the pods, I thought the whole point of a pod was that it had milk with it.

I definitely would go for automatic rather than manual.

With the Tassimo I've got you get a pod for the milk and one for the coffee. The milk pod is liquid. I think the only pods I've got that contain milk are the Americano's but I tend to drink cappuccino or latte and they're separate. Depends what you like best I think. The Americano is a Costa one

Small kettle and a cafetiere?

Dulce gusto - you can replace your man for about £30.

If only it could take the bins out too. Then he would would be replaced 😂😂

Good luck and all the best for your new start OP!

TigerOnTour · 29/02/2024 18:29

You want a dolce gusto with cafe au lait pods.

gingercat02 · 29/02/2024 18:31

If you don't want pods you can use coffee bags with a teasmade
