It wouldn’t surprise me at all. He’d love being their first sitting MP.

Albeit a sitting MP who moves round the Mad Hatter’s table at a tea party, making a mess and just sliding along to the next clean place he hasn’t broken crockery and spilt food all over.

tobee · 27/02/2024 16:25

Thank you for the new thread @AdamRyan
Hope you're on good pain relief @MrTiddlesTheCat.

And thank you to @dontcallmelen and @BestIsWest for the flower photos!

We've needed it for a long time, but we really need it now, and no. 10 is showing any signs, And that it is Leadership!

I’m looking forward to him faking a Scottish accent and wearing a kilt so he can have bash in the SNP.

ridiculous creature.

@AdamRyan I’d forgotten that completely batshit museum debacle! She’s such a twat, she’s like a kid dressing up in mums shoes and coat - saying lots of things that don’t make sense but sound ‘right’.

I can actually picture it ! (sadly).

Piggywaspushed · 27/02/2024 19:00

Fuck me, cake, your thread is depressing.

No one is ever allowed to opine that MN is a left wing echo chamber again.

DuncinToffee · 27/02/2024 19:05

It's a familiar pattern, a few posters clogging the thread not listening and banging on about aldi spices Angry

Piggywaspushed · 27/02/2024 19:08

I just get so fed up with the idea of the deserving poor. And the idea that people should only ever have basics (the ONS now considers Netflix a basic in their shopping basket!). Let's hope none of these people have menstruating people* in their homes.

*sorry , yes, that might have been deliberate.

DeadButDelicious · 27/02/2024 19:12

I just watched Nick Ferrari's interview with Michael Tomlinson on YouTube, his face when Ferrari just shut down the interview because he just wouldn't answer the question was a picture.

PMQ's should be interesting tomorrow!

Cornettoninja · 27/02/2024 19:20

@DeadButDelicious the literal squirming! He wants to get checked for thrush!

IClaudine · 27/02/2024 19:23

I am getting really fucked off with the Tories and their supporters trying to say that there is no meaning to the phrase Islamophobia and that the Tories prefer anti-muslim hatred or whatever it is they are trying to use. Islamophobia is in the OED for god's sake.

Cornettoninja · 27/02/2024 19:32

@IClaudine they’re practising their new trick of changing the definition legally so they’re actions can’t been seen in an unflattering light.

Rwanda is a safe country, a Tory expressing derogatory and inciteful statements about a Muslim person and/or group isn’t Islamophobic…

I’m sure there’s a 1984 quote that’d cover it somewhere.

cakeorwine · 27/02/2024 19:34

DuncinToffee · 27/02/2024 08:47

You'd expect them to have at least prepared a party line anwer by now

https://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/presenters/nick-ferrari/nick-ferrari-cuts-interview-short-after-minister-refuses-answer-question/

Nick Ferrari was forced to cut his interview with a government minister short this morning after he repeatedly refused to say whether Lee Anderson's 'Islamist' comments were Islamophobic

I just saw Rosie's video. You can't tell the difference.

Yeah, I really don't get this one at all.

The Express looks like it's going to be on very dodgy ground - as they are looking into Sadiq Khans past as a human rights lawyer - and are digging up groups who he did work for - which when you are a lawyer, you don't have much choice over.

Absolutely.

They have completely lost any smidgen of credibility they had left since 30p Lee opened his mouth.

The one thing they had left was the anti semitism argument and they threw it under a bus and are now having another war of words to try and make out it wasn't racist.

I don't agree with any hate from either side but respect when Starmer stood up and admitted it was a problem and started to tackle it.

It's gone beyond rats fighting in a sack

How unoriginal, the media have tried that with Starmer.

It really is a distressing read, I’m beginning to wonder if some of these people ever leave the house, listen to the radio or read newspaper, it’s not fucking rocket science that many people cannot keep up with ever increasing prices whilst wages/benefits have dismally failed in keeping up.
thank you for my flower jugs love, I have a ‘thing’ for jugs pretty tea sets & embroidered tablecloths tis a good distraction from the horror of this cess pit of a government.

L1ttledrummergirl · 27/02/2024 20:03

It's a weird form of attack. Even those I know caught in the last bastion of defending the tories- to be fair they have gone very quiet this week- understand that the basis of a fair trial means that everyone is entitled to a defence from someone who understands the law.

I don't like the governments attack on this right, as well as the attacks on our human rights via the echr. It's undermining the fabric of our values.
