Yup, there we go, looks like it's all so we get more spends on the men with guns who make everything safe again.

I often wonder if the ERG/Russia/IDF aren't all just the same thing.

Me too! I'd add Trump in the mix as well

Yes, and I think that's why Biden has sent aid - he's not part of it. I've also noticed a lot of the Brexit rhetoric coming back in comments (bots again I think) stirring it all up before elections. Maybe Rishi's speech was some sort of global trigger to the bot factories to release the hounds.

With Theresa May standing down at the next GE, it makes me wonder whether Boris might see Maidenhead as a 'safe' Tory seat and jump in there to try to get back in the game.

Looks like I'm not the only one seeing the possible return of Boris 😠

Boris Johnson has two paths back into frontline politics – and Rishi Sunak may not like either

The only way the former prime minister is likely to resurface is if he sees personal gain in doing so

I can't see the Tories being daft enough to give him any prominence at all before the GE. It inevitably gets Partygate back on the agenda, and while they've not shown much in the way of strategic genius lately, they do at least know they don't want that. Longer term, harder to call.

Johnson back, makes a 2nd Labour term more likely. I think we should encourage it.

I agree. The volume of ammunition it would hand opposition parties would be massive.

Hehe.

Was there ever an answer as to why a 56 year old needed a birthday party but not children?
Perhaps a return would mean the answer would be forthcoming.

I honestly think they are daft/stupid/desperate/arrogant enough to think that bringing Boris back could help them. I don't think it would stop them losing the next GE, but I do think there are enough fools out there to vote Tory if Boris is back. Sadly.

Maybe that question has been answered in the channel 4 doc about Johnson?

(can't bring myself to watch it)

Ah the immigration thread has gone puff, no surprise

It took long enough. I reported it hours ago, it was entirely predictable how it would go.

Trying to psych myself up, but I’m working on my stress levels and it wouldn’t help, plus I fear for my tv and random missiles. The neighbours might also object to the language…

I reported it too, this morning. Glad they saw sense.

The only honest election they have won since 1997 was Boris in 2019.... they maybe desperate enough to think this?

Same here fear for my sanity as have taken to randomly swearing & shouting at the TV/radio anytime a Tory speaks, can’t stomach a documentary on Boris.

I was the very model of restraint yesterday when our local Tory MP was round our way doing some ribbon cutting, I think it was more surprise than anything else, we don't usually see him in this part of the town, he usually sticks to the more affluent areas and only ever comes out to have his photo taken next to something he's taking credit for 🙄.

On this occasion he was stood across the road from my mums house talking to some policemen, next to a skip of all things, it was awfully tempting to tell him to go ahead and chuck himself in...

fabio12 · 09/03/2024 20:55

I honestly can only think they're upping the anti on anyone who disagrees with them for the GE. This will lead to some high profile arrests on terrorist charges and refusals to debate over policy just before the GE.

Makes me wonder what is in Starmer's GE policies that has them so riled up that they can call it terrorism using this new narrative. I bet there will be a word they demonise from his campaign, some slogan thing. This is triggering memories of Brexit when the Leave camp called all refugees Immigrants and the Take Back Control slogan came out - brainchild of Cummings I believe. I wonder what he is up to these days...

Urgh, he's doing odd rambles on one hand about low educated voters being anti-vaxxers are not being data sampled correctly in polls and then in another a long ramble he's off about how covid came from a lab (proven by science to be impossible). He is unpredictable at best but does make it clear that from where he stands around elections AI is only going to get weirder and I strongly suspect he would know all about that considering his Brexit and Trump collusions with Cambridge Analytica.

I think we would all do well to not engage with any obvious bots and feed into the system too much, as they are always learning and improving. No need to feed them answers they can use and manipulate. What a time to be alive! 🙄

fabio12 · 09/03/2024 21:15

I think he should report them to Prevent, surely there's enough for quite a few MP's to be taken away now the guidelines have relaxed?

Sorry, that was about Cummings and the next about Yousaff

Checking in for the new thread.

Labour policy on Brexit is not to talk about Brexit. I was told this last Monday at a meeting after I raised the question. I combined it with car sharing when going out for campaigning.

These threads are fantastic.

My only contribution is Rishi Sunak: turning a corner into a cul de sac?
