Putting washing on the line in the sun

I apologise if this is a niche pleasure - but does anyone else get a huge pleasure from seeing big sheets on the washing line in the sun?

Maybe it's a childhood thing.

I did hang the washing out on Saturday but it was very windy. I still had to finish them off on the radiators. I've just put the bedding out on the line but the wind is forecast for 3mph all day. Is it worth it? It's warmer in the house??

Love a good drying day. It is one thing that marks the changing of the seasons so is definitely something I look forward to.

My mantra is if the paths are dry or drying, the washing will come in dryer than it went out, although I totally get that a lot of people won’t want the faff of hanging it up twice, outside then inside to finish it off

Love getting washing hung out. Only have room for a rotary line here - would love a proper line with a pole to raise it up.
Once the washing is out I like to watch it out of the window - just to check how it’s doing😀

Definitely not a drying day here. It’s very grey and the air feels damp.

Same here. I hope we aren't in for a spring like last year, where here in the North East we just had cold grey cloud over us for months!

I washed and dried two loads on Friday, when the wind was blowing, but it does seem to have been mostly cloudy here (North Yorkshire) for weeks.

It came on rain this afternoon so I had the panic run down the garden for it 😂but it came in dryer than it went out and is now on the pulley in the utility (which also makes me smile) I think I may need some kind of intervention about how happy laundry makes me 😳

What is this 'sun' thing you are talking about?

I much prefer the smell of line-dried washing. Currently got a load of shirts out there swaying gently in the breeze.

It's been raining on and off all day here, and I'm at work (boo).

Can't wait for a nice sunny, breezy day to get bedding washed and out on the line. It's so much nicer than indoors on the heated airer and dehumidifier running.

Looking forward to the opportunity!

Rainy here. I have a load of bedding on the clothes horse. Thankfully the dehumidifier did its thing overnight so the laundry will be in the airing cupboard as soon as I can be arsed to take it upstairs. Definitely keeping my fingers crossed for a good drying day soon though; I really need to conquer the bedding mountain!

4 loads outside today, it's sunny and windy! One load on the airers , 2 loads on the line we have 2 lines, then another load on hangers slotted between the stuff on the line. Not looking forward to putting it all away though!

All the bedding out today…yippee!! Quite cool here, but sun out and nice breeze so fingers crossed!🤞

Lucky you! Up in Scotland today we have beautiful blue skies punctuated by pouring rain. So no washing outside but I've seen about 5 beautiful rainbows!

@Hapagirl48 i must be in a different part of Scotland I have blue sky and VERY strong winds, so it’s all double pegged!

Windy washing days! Reminds me of the time l had to go next door and ask for my flyaway knickers back 😮.

Knickers are on the pulley in the utility 😂😂
