I’m fighting a bit of a low mood just now, and consciously trying to see the positive things in life just now, please let me share in yours!

mine is that a DIY job I started last week is turning out better than I thought it might

Aqua Aerobics this morning. I go three times a week.

KeepSmiling89 · 20/02/2024 13:36

Last night at the gym...I set up equipment that was WAY too heavy for me. I then struggled to dismantle it. A guy saw I was struggling and just offered to help me. No judgement or laughing or anything, just saw I was struggling and offered to help dismantle and put the stuff away for me.

Dd popped round unexpectedly with a cream cake. Totally out of the blue and very welcome!

GN637 · 20/02/2024 14:06

The Golden Girls.

Forgottenmyphone · 20/02/2024 14:23

My daffodils have bloomed, my nephew took his first steps at our house, I caught up with Call The Midwife, I started (and finished) reading a book that was unputdownable.

Ikeatears · 20/02/2024 15:17

Had a really rough few months and now struggling a bit, mental health wise.
Saw my nurse this morning for a check up for an unrelated chronic condition. She knows what we've been through and took the time to ask about how I was, rather than just go through the motions of the usual checks she does for my condition.
She gave me a hug as I was leaving, told me she thinks I'm amazing and that she knows I'll get through this. She's no idea how much her time and kindness meant to me.

ExpectantEs · 20/02/2024 15:21

Hope you feel more uplifted soon! I know what this feels like.

My niece telling me I'm her favourite Aunty in the whole world
Good leg day at the gym
I had a really tasty sandwich for lunch

crapatmakeup · 20/02/2024 15:23

I’ve just come home from work and had a Hotel Chocolate hot chocolate in bed watching Love Island. Bliss.

Ikeatears · 20/02/2024 15:25

Oh! And on a lighter note, I organised my cupboard of doom! Boxes, labels, the lot! I can now find a battery, a paper clip, a birthday candle or a spare key at a moment's notice without the entire contents of said cupboard spilling onto the counter!!

SirChenjins · 20/02/2024 15:27

The roadworks that I thought were going to give me a longer commute have finished early 🥳

TooBigForMyBoots · 20/02/2024 15:29

My daffodils have popped as well @Forgottenmyphone, I saw my first bumble bee yesterday and I'm loving the crocuses in the local park.

I was a bit worried about the big ball of fire I saw in the sky yesterday, but then DS1 pointed out it was only the sun and it had been there for years.Grin

Cushionsandcaramel · 20/02/2024 15:30

The air smells like spring 🌼.

@Forgottenmyphone what was the book?

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 20/02/2024 15:33

Got two loads of washing done and dry! After the winter we've had, and with no other ways of drying washing than hanging it on the line, I feel this is a triumph!

Lovely four mile run in the sun with dog, who was actually keen and had a terrific nose about in the hedges as we went.

Broke the 20k word marker on my new novel. This one is being a bit sticky, but I know which way it's going now, so feel better about it.

I'm going to go and eat toast now. Hope you start feeling better soon, OP.

Mollyplop999 · 20/02/2024 15:33

Cushionsandcaramel I was going to ask what the book was!

Spent the morning pottering in the garden as the sun was actually shining. Can definitely feel spring approaching.

Forgottenmyphone · 20/02/2024 15:43

@Cushionsandcaramel Bear Grylls’ autobiography ‘Mud, Sweat and Tears’

I want you to come and live with me. What are your rates? Grin

AmaryllisChorus · 20/02/2024 15:53

Woke early yesterday to catch a stunning pink and yellow sunrise.

We feed a family of foxes and two of them were badly injured recently. The brother trotted into our garden today, fur growing back over his smaller wounds and his deep wound is clearly not infected. I fed him and he sat on the patio.

First primrose out in the woods today.

DollyLolly1989 · 20/02/2024 15:57

First load of washing drying outside this year 💪😀☀️

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 20/02/2024 16:05

Daffodils are out in the park and look stunning.
Our old damson tree has buds
I have cleared 1,500 old emails in my inbox. 1,900 to go. So nearly halfway.

First primrose out in the woods today

I grew up in Devon and so miss seeing the primroses in the hedgerows at the start of spring.

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 20/02/2024 16:48

Mum was a bit down as she’d spilt her tea on her wooden table without noticing and it had left a large water mark.
I whipped out her iron and ironed the mark over a tea towel and it completely disappeared. She was delighted which in turn made me feel good.

2in13 · 20/02/2024 16:51

Really little but I bought some grapes at the market today and they are the crispest, sweetest grapes I've tasted in years. They're like little balls of joy

MoiraRoseVibes · 20/02/2024 16:51

My youngest DD dancing to the music on the Horrible Histories Opera on TV earlier.
The lighter evenings.
The smell of the sage and rosemary I got from the garden for the stew I made today.

ohskedaddle · 20/02/2024 16:53

My twice weekly Zumba class always picks me up, I'd go every day if it was on.

HowDoYouSolveAProblemLikeMyRear · 20/02/2024 17:08

I've been tracking hours outdoors with the children, assuming to reach 1000 hours each year. We've reached 125 already, which I'm really pleased with. And it's improved my mental health and their behaviour.

Today we left my comfort zone of the countryside and went to the National Portrait Gallery. It was uplifting to just gaze at such beautiful art. And I was encouraged by how many people in London were friendly and offered to help carry the pram up stairs, or commented positively about the children. And so my first time taking 3 little ones to London was a success, and hardly stressful at all!
