I’m fighting a bit of a low mood just now, and consciously trying to see the positive things in life just now, please let me share in yours!

mine is that a DIY job I started last week is turning out better than I thought it might

My little one who has asd and barely speaks said he wanted a pizza! Yay! He definitely earned his pizza

My adult son telling me I'm a great mum
Seeing a deer in my garden
A huge wine delivery

I was trying to persuade my teenager to come with me to the college SEN information evening because I thought it would look bad if I went on my own. He was having none of it but my 10 year old offered to come with me, bless him. In the end my teenager came. And there was a mix of parents on their own, teenagers who has come willingly and glaring teenagers who looked like they didn't want to be there either. Although in the end DS said it was all right and there were free biscuits so he was happy about that.

I saw lambs in the field this morning ( first ones!) And the crocuses are blooming in my garden.

I'll take that, with it being a week until payday and being skint!

And I was encouraged by how many people in London were friendly and offered to help carry the pram up stairs, or commented positively about the children

Contrary to our reputation we can be a friendly helpful bunch. Your comment has uplifted me today 😊

My £207 fuel refund came through from Utility Warehouse this week.

Bottomless brunch with a new friend. Reconnecting with an old friend and her newborn. Lovely bunch of lilies from my husband that have opened more and more over the last couple of days. A delicious meal in an Indian restaurant.

Over the past week I have found three things I thought I had lost forever:

1: an earring I thought I had dropped on the beach last summer turned up under the door mat in DP's hallway. They aren't a particularly valuable pair but I had happy memories of buying them on holiday with my late DH about 20 years ago;
2: the DCs' (and my) favourite Christmas picture book turned up tucked inside another book when I was culling the bookshelves for a charity shop run;
3: a tiny but very useful silicone spoon (perfect for scraping the last bit out of jars) I had been looking for for months was hiding down the side of the wrong drawer in the kitchen.

Two of those finds were due to a cleaning/tidying/decluttering binge, so it gives me motivation to get on and do more of it!

I had a haircut today. Its been 5 years. Spring has sprung in my local churchyard, snow drops crocuses(?), blossom on a damson/plum tree. Robins shouting from trees.
'Tis raining here so I'm enjoying the flora

Gym session with PT and not eating biscuits or cake. I’m off those right now because of a family wedding this weekend. I don’t usually diet but I’m changing my diet to feel better.

My 8week old DGS giving me the biggest, gummy smile on FaceTime. He absolutely melts my heart. I wish we lived near enough to see him all the time, however our DDIL is an absolute angel and sends us multiple photos and videos, daily, which brightens us up

Papyrophile · 22/02/2024 16:32

A hawthorn hedge locally is starting to turn green with leaves. Primroses and other spring flowers. Longer days.

FinallyFeb · 22/02/2024 16:32

Planning me outfit for going out to dinner with my friend tonight.

Went with DH on Tuesday evening for a walk amongst the snowdrops and daffodils at a NT gardens. Did Kew orchids and they are amazing. And a Toby carvery takeaway even though by 6pm they said no meat available 🤔so we all had veggie, but even asd DS ate his.

I stroked a very sleepy bee and it was really soft.

TooBigForMyBoots · 22/02/2024 17:06

Ah @wizzywig, that's great.☺️

A young lad gave me his seat on the bus this morning. So I phoned the school and told them. The receptionist was made up, I think she was expecting me to make a complaint.😆

Cushionsandcaramel · 22/02/2024 21:59

@Cheesehound I love that!

LovelyBitOfSquirrrel · 22/02/2024 22:02

A man saw me holding a poo bag whilst struggling with a stroppy toddlers reins getting tangled on the dogs lead. He took the poo to the bin for me.

Whatsgoingonwithmyhead · 22/02/2024 22:04

My SIL got a big break at work that she really really deserved after a totally shit year

This is so beautifully wholesome

Walking over a sluice as the floodwater roared through underneath me.

Hearing a woodpecker drumming - another sign of spring.

ifonly4 · 23/02/2024 08:47

The view from our local hill (didn't appreciate walking the 25% gradient for 30 mins to the top though😅).

Another thing, I have a lovely 79 year old colleague, we often give eachother a hug and we had one in the week.

Lifebeganat50 · 23/02/2024 08:48

My dd heard yesterday that she’d been successful in gaining promotion at work-can’t say how chuffed I am for her. She’s always been bright but has never really believed it, so it’s wonderful to see her being recognised for it

Mine's a DIY job too. I fixed a problem with our heating last night, so woke up to warm radiators this morning. IT's been a stressy week so I was thrilled that it was sorted.
