It's not new, it's seven hours away from home, it'd be a second home boohiss until we retire, it needs a lot of work. It's been on the market for a year and has no kitchen. It's so remote we'd need a starlink to be able to work or call an ambulance.
I have the visual equivalent of a tin ear when it comes to decorating and I'm so excited I could cry (I did cry when we visited)

Thanks for the update - so glad you are happy and settled and slowly getting there with your project.

Well done!

I’ve done a dark room! It’s stunning but doesn’t photograph. 2 pics. One of ChatGPT’s rendering which is what it looks like, it’s just too dark to photograph- first pic.
Very proud that I managed all the skirtings and not a speck on the pale carpets.

Had the first ever awful drive. I usually go up by train but made the mistake of leaving at not optimal time on bank holiday. Took 12 hours (with stops) and on arrival was greeted by this spooky fellow.

That dark room works really well. With humans and cats shedding so much hair, I’d need to be forever dusting!

reservoirdawg · 11/05/2026 18:54

It’s so very dark you wouldn’t see! 🤣

So lovely to see updates on this. Has it really been two years!
