How to look as amazing as Pippa Middleton in a bikini?!?

Not a goady thread just genuinely want to know how to look as toned and in such good shape. Am the same age as Pippa. Just saw some photos of her on the DM (don’t judge) and she looks absolutely fantastic. Healthy but so fit. I would not look so good in a bikini. What do I need to do?!?

Someone who can't put money in their electric metre is unlikely to be thinking about how to look like Pippa Middleton!

There's plenty of rich fat people!

I'm not saying they would be. I just think it's utter rubbish to claim that with motivation anybody can eat healthily and exercise because it's simply not true. There are many barriers and they usually boil down to money.

KirstenBlest · 18/02/2024 12:49

@mypafology , How do you boil water if you haven't put money on the meter and the electric's been cut off?
Then you probably wouldn't be on here, unless you were at a public library using the computer there.

What's that got to do with anything?

KirstenBlest · 18/02/2024 12:55

@mypafology If you can't boil the water, just do it the night before with cold water.

Comedycook · 18/02/2024 12:58

I think the point is you don't have to be living in absolute abject poverty to find it's a struggle. Just living an average life can be difficult enough!

Comedycook · 18/02/2024 13:02

I mean today...this morning I took my ds out. Came home and have done three loads of washing. Made lunch. Emptied bins. Tidied kitchen. Just about to hoover. Then need to sort uniforms and PE kit for tomorrow morning and make packed lunches. If all that was taken care of for me and I had my own pool or gym, then I'd love to swim or lift some weights. Yes I could have probably squeezed in some exercise in the time I've been pissing round on mn but I'm tired from all the housework and shit there is to do.

Plain oats made with cold water. Yum. I can't possibly see why people would choose sugary cereal over this for themselves and their children

minipie · 18/02/2024 13:06

To sum up:

There is no single thing that is either necessary or sufficient to look like this

But things that make it easier

Good genes (metabolism and figure)
Height and naturally athletic type figure
Enjoying exercise
Regarding food as fuel
Time and energy to exercise (wealth helps)
Time and energy to prepare healthy food rather than grabbing what’s easy (wealth helps)
Motivation and discipline, whether internal (positive) or fear of being judged (negative)

Pippa clearly ticks a lot of these boxes

KirstenBlest · 18/02/2024 13:29

@minipie , I agree.
Pippa isn't tall, but she has a slight and lean frame. Her sister too, only Kate is about 2.5" taller. Both are naturally athletic. Both have slim, attractive parents.

But everyone has housework to do! (other than those who can/choose to have someone else to do it all) Yet exercising is not exclusively to preserve of the super-rich and I know plenty of women who have made it their main pass-time despite having housework to do and children to get ready for school. I'm like you @Comedycook I can't be bothered to exercise after all the jobs, - but some people do and they're the ones that are fit and athletic looking!

I disagree. I just don't think it's true that the barriers to a body like Pippa's are usually down to money! Otherwise only the rich would look like that- but in every gym round the country you will find women that look like that and I know averagely well off women that make exercise and diet their priority. As long as you have a modestly reasonable income then you can afford eat healthily and exercise if you wish. Running, which is the most popular exercise amongst people I know is free- all you need are trainers and basic leggings and sports tops.

I still think for most it's the lack of motivation- myself included

Lampzade · 18/02/2024 14:16

I think that some will always find an excuse not to exercise and eat healthily.
I think it is easier to exercise now than it was in the past. There are many videos on YouTube , walking is free etc
One simply has to be disciplined.
I exercise most days and have always been this way. As a result I have a decent body.
When I was younger I exercised for vanity , now it is mostly for health

Pippa looks fit and healthy and obviously works out. Her body is not necessarily the type of body that I aspire but I admire her discipline .

Disturbia81 · 18/02/2024 14:21

Too boyish and masculine.

Daisyislazy · 18/02/2024 14:25

I would need to give up chocolate, curries, wine, cheese.... nah I'll stay curvy

Butterdishy · 18/02/2024 14:29

She looks in fantastic shape, very lean and toned. But I don't think she looks aesthetically great personally. That's the body of a lifetime of good diet and plenty of exercise - wish I was that disciplined.

ItsAllAboutTheDosh · 18/02/2024 14:32

Do not work but have money to hire personal trainers and chefs.
You do not really need motivation if you have a private personal trainer who comes to your house and gets you off your couch, and a private chef who makes you only low calorie and healthy meals.

It's not that simple though is it? Why are not all rich women thin and toned? You need the motivation to hire the personal trainer and the discipline to not ask your chef to make pizza every night! Other members of the Royal Family struggle with weight so it's not about their wealth.

You'd probably cancel the trainer and order a deliveroo and watch telly instead.
Hey, you could afford it

A friend of mine has a body like Pip's. She has 3 DC.
She runs to elite athlete level, and eats healthily. No private chef, trainer or nanny. She does have a full-time job and a DH. Yes it takes motivation , she says sometimes she finds it hard to get herself out running but she does it.
It's her hobby and she's good at it.

She'd be slim even if she didn't run. She has that build.

ItsAllAboutTheDosh · 18/02/2024 14:51

You need enough motivation to want to make it happen. You can hire trainers who will come to your house every day and as well as make you exercise, they will check your kitchen and remove any unhealthy food.
I exercise. I work all day, then make tea for everyone, then drive to a cold not very nice council leisure centre to exercise. That takes more motivation and I can see why more do not do it.

ItsAllAboutTheDosh · 18/02/2024 14:56

@KirstenBlest I have no idea how she finds the time to train to an elite level, look after 3 children with housework, and work full time. I find it hard enough to do the level of exercise I do working full time with children and housework.

Aydel · 18/02/2024 15:05

I don’t see the love for that sort of figure. She’s straight up and down, no boobs, no hips, just thin.

If your friend didn't have her DH, who would look after her 3 children whilst she went out running? And if she wasn't working and couldn't afford decent running shoes or specialised clothes or race entries or a GPS watch or a fancy water bottle do you think she'd still be running to elite athlete level?

It's not just about motivation, that's incredibly reductive. It's about circumstance and a large part of that is money.

KirstenBlest · 18/02/2024 15:25

@ItsAllAboutTheDosh , she's been a runner all her life, so it's mostly maintaining the level rather than training for it, I guess. The DH and DC are sporty.

By elite athlete, I mean she goes in the elite group in marathons.

Her DH runs too but nobody asks how does he find the time.

I think Diana looked a lot better personally. She had a bit of a tummy but I think a better figure.
