Has anything you usually buy recently just disappeared from shops?

I cannot find 'cook at home' poppadums anywhere. Used to be in most supermarkets. I used to buy them all the time. I go to my local Indian shop for them sometimes but they've usually only got flavours I don't favour. The ready made ones aren't as nice and are usually in a load of plastic non-recylcable packaging which doesn't please me either.

I don't mean products that have been discontinued a long time ago, more so things that still exist but you just can't buy anywhere from recently!

Own brand coffee creamer is another one. Don't use it myself but I've heard people at work saying this often.

Is there a Lidl near you? It’s Italian week at Lidl and I bought a large and some small scamorza from there today x 😀

Not quite the point of this thread, but Lidl also has some Italian hazelnut spread in a jar as part of Italian week which tastes exactly like the filling in Kinder bueno.

Stuff goes missing all the time.

Aldi annoyed me the most when they stopped doing frozen beef mince. I mean its like baked beans, bread or milk - a staple of many dishes.

You can buy the fresh stuff there but it is a lot more hassle to use if you freeze it as it always freezes in lumps whereas the frozen stuff is well separated.

Pepto Bismol
I haven’t been able to get it since Covid hit. I even contacted the manufacturer, they said it would be available the following year, that was in 2022 and it’s still off the shelves.
Its widely available in the US so no idea why we can no longer get it?
It was the only thing which helped my chronic digestive issues.

Well separated by all the water sprayed onto it during freezing!

Not sure if this has disappeared but I was thinking about it just yesterday and did a search online but only Jacob's ones showed up.

Crawfords Cornish wafers. They were lovely. Did not come up on a search online. I don't want to go down the Amazon Fresh route...

GreenEyedMonsterMunch · 06/03/2024 12:56

Tesco don't seem to have the little yellow/orange wrapped chedder cheese mini block things. I loved snacking on them and now can only get cathedral city or sainsburys own brand but they're all mature cheddar and I prefer the mild version that Tesco did.

I did find some in M&S but they're really thick and I preferred the thinner ones/-.

Our local Tesco has stopped selling Belgian buns, DH is devastated I used to always put them on the order, it arrives when I'm at work so he used to put it all away make a tea and have a bun, they've not had them in about six months, other branches do though, my mum brought him some from her local last time she came over (only about 20 miles away)

Arraminta · 06/03/2024 13:52

What a shame. Altacite plus is very good

I feel embarrassed saying this but it was my guilty pleasure - Kraft cheesy pasta. Used to be able to get boxes from Asda and Tesco but can't find it anywhere.

ExcelNoVa · 06/03/2024 17:47

Nivea lip butter!!!

it was the best.

I get my wee hovis wheatgerm loaf in Morrisons

thepastinsidethepresent · 06/03/2024 19:18

Raspberry Pepsi Max. Discontinued apparently. I'm gutted, they were by far the nicest flavour imo!

Deathraystare · 06/03/2024 19:55

@justasking111

Thanks I will try there!

For those wanting Ginger cake there was deffo some in the small Sainsbury's I was in last night!

Shopping is rarely a pleasure and it is a right royal pain now!!!

Dove Cucumber deodorant roll on. Can’t find it anywhere 😢 I spotted some on Amazon, bought the 4 pack and it was cucumber and green tea, totally different and horrible. Sold it on eBay pdq. 😢

greeneggsandhamhocks · 06/03/2024 21:26

I'm not sure if any of these have been discontinued or are just hard to get where I am but I can no longer find Daz and had to really hunt down Stergene and Livlife bread.

Pukka mint tea vanished from the local supermarkets and milk delivery but I managed to find a single box in Waitrose at the weekend.

I'm pretty sure Korres lip butter has been discontinued, which is a shame as it was so useful.

For pp looking for tinned anchovies, I saw them in the same single Waitrose that sells Livlife and Stergene, so perhaps it's a portal to the past.

They have the cucumber one listed on Ocado.

And also Daz powder.
