Did anyone guess the twist in Sixth Sense when you first watched it?

Spoiler below

When watching the sixth sense for the first time, did anyone guess that Bruce Willis was dead before it got revealed?

I just watched it now and it feels SO obvious! I feel like if I watched it for the first time in 2024 I would’ve guessed. But back when it came out I didn’t

It literally said that there were spoilers!

buckeejit · 13/02/2024 23:52

My dd 10 did when we watched her it recently

Nope I didn't see it coming and The Others also completely threw me!

haha same here.

I am quick dense that way.

XenoBitch · 13/02/2024 23:56

No idea at the time, but I never pick up on hints etc anyway.
The second watch.... so obvious.

ScrambledSmegs · 14/02/2024 00:07

The friend I was sitting next to in the cinema leaned over during the anniversary dinner scene and stage-whispered so the whole cinema could hear "I think he's dead".

Thanks mate.

StarTwirl · 14/02/2024 00:11

I had no idea when I first watched it years ago

DS guessed from the beginning when we watched it a few weeks ago

VecroRevolver · 14/02/2024 00:28

I watched it a day or so after it came out and had no idea there was a twist so didn’t get it at all. The Others however I guessed almost immediately and then sat bored and totally unscared while my friend, who hadn’t twigged, found it really creepy.
We guessed How I Met Your Mother in the first episode but it seemed so cliched that I really hoped that wouldn’t be it.
Had no clue how The Prestige was going to work out but I knew there had to be a trick. I did think that one was clever.

FFS spoilers much!?

Hardly. The films been out over 20 years & the thread title mentions a twist in the movie.

I find it hard to believe IF someone hasn't seen it after all this time they aren't aware of the twist or they're rushing to watch it

FFS spoilers much!?

...and at the end of Titanic the boat sinks! Who knew??

CarolinaInTheMorning · 14/02/2024 00:42

I saw it in the cinema right after it came out, and I was completely surprised. So was everyone else in the audience. One of my best movie experiences of all time.

SpacePotato · 14/02/2024 01:44

Yes, I got it right away but ALL the previews/ads/clips for the film showed the bit where the kid says "I see dead people, they walk around like regular people and don't even know they're dead"
So it seemed pretty obvious to me.

Same with signs and the village.

SpacePotato · 14/02/2024 01:50

The Skeleton Key has a great twist/ending.

delsie · 14/02/2024 04:00

I didn't spot it until it was revealed at the end.

MsJuniper · 14/02/2024 04:51

I worked it out early on but it didn't take away from the enjoyment or creepiness. I am still scared thinking about it.

SheepAndSword · 14/02/2024 05:19

No I didn't!

garlictwist · 14/02/2024 05:34

We randomly rewatched this at Christmas and I had forgotten what a great film it is. Even when you know the twist and look out for it, it's not obvious.

RootVegAndMash · 14/02/2024 06:03

I'm normally brilliant at guessing twists. I've seen many films where I've called the ending 20 minutes in.

But no, not with this. I totally missed it, it gave me goosebumps when it was revealed. Brilliant ending.

boredybored · 14/02/2024 06:52

I love those films , the village has the best twist too as do a lot of other M.night shylaman ( sp) films . I only read books with a twist though as I live trying to guess it .

Easterness · 14/02/2024 07:09

I didn't see the twist coming in this, or the Others, or the Village or the Crying Game SmileSmile

PuppyMonkey · 14/02/2024 07:17

Can’t remember the film Primal Fear at all so quite looking forward to finding this one and watching - I’ll be looking out from the start for the big twist though. Grin

Japril · 14/02/2024 07:18

I guessed about halfway through the film and was so excited I loudly whispered to my friend. I was not very popular in that cinema - Thankfully the people around me found it funny and asked as we left how I worked it out!

Japril · 14/02/2024 07:21

@ScrambledSmegs i wonder if I am your friend?! 😆

Feb123 · 14/02/2024 07:28

Yes! It’s the most disappointing film I’ve ever seen.
people rave about it though.

I’ve never seen anyone mention this before so thank you for this thread!!!

I heard it was a film with a great twist. So I went to the cinema with my son excited to see if. I knew immediately that the person was dead so thought that surely isn’t the twist thats so obvious we all know that. So I watched waiting for the great twist. Then the film ended. That was it. There was no twist. I said in the cinema - that’s the worst film I’ve ever seen what rubbish etc etc. people were looking at me strangely.

and then for years afterwards I’ve heard people talk about it and not a one has had my experience. It’s supposed to be an amazing film. People having to go twice after they realise the plot etc.

NonPlayerCharacter · 14/02/2024 07:32

No, but a friend did right after the shooting scene, and thought you were supposed to!

Nolarbear · 14/02/2024 07:51

This has been fun reading everyone experiences of the film for the first time. Can’t believe so many people had the film spoiled for them by other people! I would be so annoyed 😂

I haven’t watched the village or primal fear, but might have to watch them and see if I can work out the twists
