Amazing that Penny Mordaunt thinks Starmer stopped the country having a good deal with the EU when the Tories wanted no deal at all!

Starmer did vote against 48 motions in parliament about Brexit, many of which would have helped secure a better deal.

That is entirely Starmer's aim. He wants you to think he is just a slightly different version of the Tories and then once he is in government. wham all the left wing stuff will come flooding back.

Ooooh, yes please!

pointythings · 22/02/2024 15:28

@kitfree1 I am not sure you have understood the article you linked to. At all.

tobee · 22/02/2024 15:34

So, I wonder if we'll see any bots flooding to this and other threads in the run up to the next general election. Whenever that'll be.

Zonder · 22/02/2024 15:40

kitfree1 · 22/02/2024 15:05

It is probably more that those pulling Starmer's puppet strings have come up with what they think is a clever plan with this conspiracy.

And who is pulling your strings?

I think you knew what I meant. To spell it out I'm getting past caring about your motivations for your silly contributions.

I think given recently polling it will be sooner rather than later.

The bots that is. Not the election.

Excuse my ignorance, is pots another way of saying posters who hold different opinions from me?

I think we're starting to see through Kitfree1's disguise now.

This is excellent news indeed.

Which left wing stuff shall I get ready to expect?

Hmm. I am finding this idea that somehow transactivists have "captured" all our institutions and "stonewalled" them quite scary. It's like something out of doctor who and the Borg.

The last episode of Jon Ronsons podcast (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0h24lnp) was quite informative I felt. A bit of an insight into the kind of mindset that leads someone to believe these kind of things. Maybe Truss really believes this stuff? If not she's playing to an increasingly strange gallery.

Stop the world, I want to get off please.

Stonewall excels in tick boxing and this is why I'm sceptical about the organisation that I once supported.

Truss is delusional and I've always thought so. How did she get to even be an MP?

tobee · 22/02/2024 16:27

"Truss is delusional and I've always thought so. How did she get to even be an MP?"

Huge amounts of self belief?

Err Boris Johnson had an 80 seat majority, he could have had any deal he wanted.

T.May had a 30 seat one but threw it away with an ill judged GE, which forced her to rely on some fairly hard Ulster Unionists.

The UK got Brexit and then a bad deal all because of the hard right looney tunes Tories.

IClaudine · 22/02/2024 16:59

Let's be careful we don't do anything that could get the thread pulled. Remember what happened to thread 7 in this series! (I think it was 7).

tobee · 22/02/2024 17:00

Agreed but not sure we're currently in that territory

DuncinToffee · 22/02/2024 17:07

ITV is set to make a four-part TV series on the infected blood scandal,

Let’s hope that will get the same attention as the Post Office drama

OP posts:
IClaudine · 22/02/2024 17:09

Oh, that is good news, Duncin! Perhaps this will be the way forward now. Governments try to stall/cover up. TV dramas blow the lid off.

Zonder · 22/02/2024 17:09

Perhaps we could make a list of suggestions for future dramas for ITV to work on?

Starmer was an important part of Jeremy Corbyn's far left loony cabinet that got smashed at the last General Election. Starmer learnt from that to appear moderate, but he'll return to his roots at the first opportunity, they all do.

But Jeremy Corbyn
