Penny Mordaunt: "We have seen into the heart of Labour's leadership, nothing is more important than the interests of the Labour Party... Keir Starmer frustrated our country getting the best deal possible when we left the EU... the Labour Party before country..."

I can't work out if kitfree1's posts are serious or not.

I'm getting to the stage where I'm past caring.

How exactly does she think Keir Starmer did that?

Christ she has a very short memory ffs.
ICauldine was just thinking the same I’m confused.

Dear God its an absolute shambles with all kinds of mad allegations being thrown around. Maybe Dorries was right
The SNP's Patricia Gibson is making a bold claim relating to the allegations of interference by Sir Keir Starmer, which he has in the last hour denied.
She says the Labour leadership are the subject of "grave allegations" of "engaging in dark practices" and "possibly even of blackmail", which she says led to the break in parliamentary convention.

(BBC)

Nice bit of DARVO for the cherry on top:
James Grundy, Tory MP for Leigh, says that following an opposition day debate some time ago, his elderly parents were threatened with being stabbed to death, adding that he knows his fellow MPs are facing similar threats today. He implores MPs that when "we do vote on difficult matters, we should do so under the same set of rules".He adds that while Labour MPs were protected "entirely legitimately from potential threats of violence and murder", Conservative MPs "were consequently left more exposed"

I wish we could call no confidence in the lot of them. Its totally borked.

Interesting run down of yesterday's shambles. I am not sure I approve of what Stamer did, I think he should have allowed a free vote. I also think it shows he has a ruthless streak. Which is possibly a good quality in terms of being PM.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/feb/21/how-keir-starmer-averted-gaza-ceasefire-vote-crisis

Exactly. Loads on the thread about the debate saying he looks weak as a result. I think quite the opposite…

No one can doubt she has them though, we could debate whether they were scary or common sense.

Her principles don't seem to include sticking to the truth.

That is entirely Starmer's aim. He wants you to think he is just a slightly different version of the Tories and then once he is in government. wham all the left wing stuff will come flooding back.

AdamRyan · 22/02/2024 15:01

DuncinToffee · 22/02/2024 15:03

It is funny how the posters who claim Starmer is weak, boring, without a plan are now saying that Starmer is a master conspirator who can bend Parliament to his will Grin

It is probably more that those pulling Starmer's puppet strings have come up with what they think is a clever plan with this conspiracy.

The irony of a Tory (priorities: self, party, country in that order) suggesting similar of anyone else is eye popping.
You have to laugh or you would cry…

Just thinking the same, more than happy for a bit more left wing.

Cornettoninja · 22/02/2024 15:08

Starmer was an important part of Jeremy Corbyn's far left loony cabinet that got smashed at the last General Election. Starmer learnt from that to appear moderate, but he'll return to his roots at the first opportunity, they all do.

Trade unions, communists and their fellow travellers.
They pop up on here from time to time too.

Which Unions? Many have no link to the party at all. Communists? Why would they be interested in the Labour Party (which is a democratic socialist party).
And why would either be in charge of the Labour leader?
I mean, I can tell from your posts you are either on the wind up of genuinely lacking awareness, but this stuff is utter nonsense.

TheABC · 22/02/2024 15:19

I've got my head in my hands, looking at Twitter. There are children starving to death in Gaza and this procedural nonsense does nothing at all to change that. Israel's not going to take notice of our resolutions as Netanyahu and his cabinet know full well that the moment the war stops, they will lose their jobs.

It's down to withdrawing cash and weapons if the West is serious about stopping this mess.
