Police think Abdul Shokoor Ezedi "died in the Thames", having last been seen leaning over Chelsea bridge.

Couldn't face the disability and disfigurement that he had attempted to inflict on helpless girls, but rebounded onto himself , maybe.

Couldn't face justice - coward

He was caught several times in a short time frame on CCTV and then he suddenly wasn’t. Either he’s gone into the water or a car has picked him up on that bridge. They’ll have checked if his phone was used, they’ll have used ANPR to check the number plates and owners of vehicles in the area to see if he got a legit taxi somewhere.

I think it’s likely he jumped in the Thames in sheer desperation because of the agony (hopefully) but I wouldn’t be able to rest if I was his victim.

Gloriosaford · 10/02/2024 00:30

Given the severity & nature of his injury would his best 'hope' would not be to hand himself in straight away? Then again I guess he'd not be in the best mental state to weigh up which of the bad options he should choose.
(My guess is that he is dead)

BobbyBiscuits · 10/02/2024 00:34

It sounds a bit suss. Like 'OK, he must have died in the Thames, lets forget the whole saga. Move on. F the victims.' i.e 'Costing too much and we look mugs that we haven't found him yet'.
The lady and her daughters deserve justice and until his body is found I believe he's still on the loose. The Met police don't seem to care about vulnerable asylum seeking women and their kids.

APickUpFullOfPinkCarnations · 10/02/2024 00:35

He had planned to escape in his car, which he crashed, and in his haste to leave left his phone in there, so no means of contacting anyone. I don't think he planned to stay in London or he would have gone straight to where he was supposed to stay instead of randomly taking tubes and walking all over the place. And anyway, the police have his phone now and if he had been messaging anyone asking them for somewhere to stay they would know it by now. He would be in a lot of pain from a serious injury that needed immediate medical attention. His big plan went wrong. No sign of him leaving the bridge. No use of his bank card since. I think he knew he was out of options and jumped.

Spopssas · 10/02/2024 00:38

It shouldn't have been the lead story. Lucy Manning exclusive though so I guess running orders were ripped up.

Mothership4two · 10/02/2024 00:42

If he was last seen on a bridge and then there is no other CCTV sightings of him then it is likely that he went in. Police will be able to track and check out all the vehicles that passed over the bridge over that period of time. Hopefully his body washes up.

I think he's still alive and somebody is covering for him. A male member of his family has even said he's not a sex offender because he's too nice despite the police/courts saying otherwise. He's too much of a snivelling coward to kill himself.

I hope they continue to keep searching until they find a body, even if it takes ten years.

Funny that, too nice to be a sex offender, but not too nice to have disfigured 3 people he didn't know...
I do agree though, I don't think he went in the water, I think he's being helped to get away from justice being served.

PeopleAreWeird · 10/02/2024 00:57

They have no idea where a violent sex offender is and its the easy way out to say ‘His dead’ The search is over !

The Met have said: "The Thames is very fast flowing this time of year and very wide, it is possible he may never be found."

It seems there's no CCTV beyond him walking up and down Chelsea bridge and leaning over.

I would think there is sufficient CCTV coverage in that area for them to be able to say confidently that he never left Chelsea Bridge on foot.

oakleaffy · 10/02/2024 01:06

Boomboom22 · 09/02/2024 17:17

As long as he actually is there as this sounds like last known sighting and he wasn't leaning over the bridge? Rather than excuse to stop searching and he gets away. Shouldn't they search the Thames?

Parents used to own a RIB 'Zodiac' when we were young, and we would go up and down the Thames between Putney and Limehouse.

Harbourmaster would be going up and down as well.

The Thames is wide and fast flowing, murky and frightening.

It was being on the water down low near it that you realise how massive the Thames actually is.

When the Marchioness''Party Boat'' Disaster happened way back in the 1989, the innocent victim's bodies were found as far down as Richmond.

This Wicked man's body may yet surface if he has escaped justice in this way.

Capmagturk · 10/02/2024 01:07

I think he's dead, he'd of been in absolute agony with that burn, no car, no phone to contact anyone, clearly had nowhere to go when he was wandering around. Even if he did manage to get away he likely develop sepsis and die.

My daughter was burned last year chemically about the size of a ten pence piece. She wasn't home. When she got home three days later I took her to hospital as could clearly see the redness rapidly spreading round the burn minute to minute. We were taken straight through and she was treated for sepsis and kept in. With a burn that severe with no treatment he'd be a goner.

Put it this way..ULEZ cameras are everywhere... they definitely pick up vehicles that haven't paid the charges, so hopefully they will be able to check for vehicles that may have helped this vile man to escape.

It's likely his wretched carcass will wash up if he did go in.

Bunbryist · 10/02/2024 01:12

He has form for hitching a ride with unsuspecting lorry drivers. He would only need to get 50 miles away from central London to be able to lay up during the day and travel at night.
It's convenient for the police, but entirely unsatisfying for the rest off the country.

Sincerely hope your Daughter is ok now.

This wicked man was literally 'Hoist with his own petard' in that he received blowback from the corrosive he inflicted on innocent victims.

APickUpFullOfPinkCarnations · 10/02/2024 01:16

I just don't understand the CCTV photos of him walking around with that huge burn on his face. He must have been in agony, yet he showed no sign of it, walking around with his head up. I'd have been crouched in a ditch sobbing.

But an unsuspecting lorry driver would have seen the news and the burn on his face and reported him surely?

Mothership4two · 10/02/2024 01:19

@APickUpFullOfPinkCarnations

Shock? Plus not wanting to draw attention to himself?

Willyoujustbequiet · 10/02/2024 01:19

He's alive and being shielded, fled the country most probably.
The Police simply don't care about women and domestic violence. They dont want the hassle so it's convenient to say he's dead.

crumblingschools · 10/02/2024 01:19

@APickUpFullOfPinkCarnations so would I. Maybe that is why he jumped. Couldn’t get medical help to treat the injury and give pain relief

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/02/2024 01:21

I think he's dead. If not in the Thames, which is most likely imo, then from his facial injury.
Strong alkalis eat away through skin, underlying tissues, cartilage and even bone. Without expert medical attention that injury is not going to heal and sepsis is highly likely.

Janelle7 · 10/02/2024 01:45

I wonder if theyre trying to say hes dead, search is off, so he will come back above ground and they can catch him. Hes probably gone missing completely, they have no leads. I do hope he doesn’t get away with it

LizBennet · 10/02/2024 01:49

He’s absolutely dead. He’s not hiding out anywhere with that injury to his eye and face. No hospital or medical centre would treat him without informing the police.
Really hope his body washes up to stop the more far fetched scenarios as well as to give his victim a little peace.

TouseMrap · 10/02/2024 02:22

They've said it's their main working hypothesis but not that it's case closed we wont be doing any further investigating. With injuries as extensive as his which would worsen overtime to be fatal without intense medical intervention and with the CCTV footage it seems like the most likely scenario to be honest. Plenty goes on behind the scenes that isn't reported, I don't trust the Met really and not claiming they don't make mistakes, but this seems pretty logical from what we've been told.

The Thames is also a lot bigger, faster flowing and hostile than people realise. I hope for the victims sake if he has gone in be washes up to give some closure, but sadly this isn't always the case; at least not for a while.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 10/02/2024 03:20

I don’t see how it makes much sense for the police to just make this story up as some suggest. Given his injuries, if he came out of hiding then he’d be instantly spotted and so it would look even worse on the Met in that case.

Plus I don’t get that the police are supposedly too incompetent to do a search but competent enough to keep a conspiracy under wraps.

It’s frustrating that there’s no cctv of him going over and I hope the body is found.

oakleaffy · 10/02/2024 03:25

Definitely true.

The tidal pull is fast and powerful.
We grew up with the Thames always near as kids..it's not a river you'd want to fall into especially not in midwinter. Occasionally in summer around Eel Pie you'd see people swimming, but even when the river wasn't racing, they'd be being pulled downstream or upstream by the tides.
