How old are you and how long have you been on Mumsnet?

I'll start... I'm 51 and I've been here 15 years.

I was thinking recently that Mumsnet has got older but maybe that's because I hang about in different corners (Higher Education instead of Pregnancy for example!) or click on threads that are relevant to my life now (pensions anyone?). I love the wide range of life experiences shared in general Chat and even AIBU.

I still remember my first thread when I was pregnant with DD2. Her nuchal scan showed a high risk of Down's and a friend suggested I hop onto Mumsnet for some advice. I was absolutely blown away by the kindness and support I received.

I know some topics can get a bit heated but I do hope newbies today get similarly warm reception.

How long have you been knocking around?

43 - been here since my maternity leave in November 2011.
I actually found you via (embarrassed cough) Netmums. I don’t tend to the pink and glitter and have long time lurked on here since.
There have been some amazing threads over the years and my favourite was the poverty thread, purely because I felt others understood what it was like growing up.

61 must be nearly 25 years I was pregnant with DS HES now 24

While we're here... does anyone remember iVillage? I kind of slid down the iVillage slide with DC1 and landed in the Mumsnet sandpit. And here I remain.

Yes, dimly ... I think that was the first parenting forum I used, in the first few weeks post partum in need of advice re BF.

I'm 35 and not long at all.. I think about 18 months if that.

I’m 46 and only joined a few weeks ago. It’s actually quite distracting during the day when I should be working! I joined as I wfh mainly since lock down with my new job and miss the interaction of female company, I worked at a really social place previously! Have 2 kids and partner x

I would have said 19 years, but having just done a search on my initial username my first post was March 2003 - so nearly 21 years!

I'm early 50s.

Was also a BabyCentre month-board member pre joining Mumsnet.

53 and nearly 20 years. I joined when my youngest was a baby, and she is 20 next week. Good Lord.

44 and 17 years

I'm 75 and been here for about 5 years. Excellent social network.

42 and about 13 years. I actually advanced searched my original user name not long ago and was cringing at some of the stuff i used to post.

I remember reading the forums when my eldest was born in 2003 but didn’t join until much later.

27, about a year. I found it when googling questions when I first got pregnant a year ago and been a godsend through 4 miscarriages

19 years, mid '50's.
My first memory was a woman whose husband had left her for another woman, she gave his and OW first name, if I recall he was Julian. I laughed so hard at this thread as in all amidst all sympathy, another poster name changed to something like 'Julianandotherwomanarecunts' in support. First time I'd seen this and thought, yeah, I like you lot! 😀
It's been a massive port in stormy weather and if I want to buy/see an ailment discussed/read intelligent discussion then it's never failed me.
