Did anyone see Rishi and his flip chart?!

I mean WTF?!
Who uses flip charts these days?! I was so stunned by the method of delivery I couldn’t rake in anything he was saying. (This is the conservative political broadcast on BBC1 at about 7 tonight)

He gets more and more like a third rate maths teacher everyday!

I thought it was good. I understood everything he was saying and thought he came across well.

NeptunaOfTheMermaidBattleSquadron · 07/02/2024 19:24

I'd imagine they had a tech fail and were making the best of it. No Prime Minister wakes up in the morning thinking "I'll nail it on the beeb with this mint new A1 flipchart from Office Depot".

@NeptunaOfTheMermaidBattleSquadron 😂😂😂

Ong I love a flip chart! I could stand all day explaining things and drawing! I would be very happy

Hi Akshata 👋

The house looks so sad!

He's showing he's RELATABLE and not a billionaire who can afford lots of tech!
We can trust him!
Us, the poor thick people who need things literally drawing out on a FLIP CHART - he's one of US!

Is that you Akshata?

Or could be his Mum? Usha ?

Comedycook · 07/02/2024 19:28

I had the TV on but was busy doing something else... caught a glimpse of it and thought it was a spoof...then realised it was serious...wtf!

Princesspollyyy · 07/02/2024 19:28

People will criticise whatever he does 🤷🏻‍♀️

And no, I'm not akshata. Would you believe I actually googled that, as I had no idea what his wife was called. Don't know and don't care.

Can't spell 'mortgage' either!

And some people will vote Tory whatever they do.

Neither group will decide the election, its the pesky floating voters, people like my parents who voted for Maggie and then switched to Blair.

Alphavilla · 07/02/2024 19:33

“When I became PM inflation was at 11%. Now it’s at 4% so my policies are working…. “
he didn’t bother to mention it was only 11% due to liz truss’s mess up and it was always going to fall back thanks but no thanks to sunak. He always blackens the name of labour by quoting them as the party of high taxes but fails to mention we are currently taxed more than ever before in part due to his freezing of the banded taxable thresholds instead of raising them in line with wages.

NeptunaOfTheMermaidBattleSquadron · 07/02/2024 19:33

I just watched it. I'm confused because the two major political parties seem to be light on the specifics and going to a default "stick with the plan" or "change the plan" and all they seem to be offering as their campaign promises are "same same" or "different". 🤔 At least this one was mercifully short.

Definite maths teacher vibes. 😂 But I'm not sure if that's necessarily a bad thing. Maths teachers are epic. Someone should start a maths party. They're strict on trainers but great at stopping Putin's nukes by calculating some badass vectors.

Alphavilla · 07/02/2024 19:35

And he couldn’t spell furlough either.

😂yes, this!
pretty sure I know the consultant who advised the approach

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 07/02/2024 19:39

I was literally squirming watching this. Managed about 45 seconds and turned it over.

Samcro · 07/02/2024 19:39

Saw it
shame he doesn’t realise that he is not cutting taxes. Council tax is going up

Well tell them we were all so horrified by his shit drawing and spelling that we didn’t hear a word he said 😂

I just watched it here.https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001w2t0/party-political-broadcasts-conservative-party-07022024

That was totally shit. It had shit script, shit concept and no one corrected his spelling. I can't believe they put that out. The Conservative Party must really hate Sunak.

Party Political Broadcasts - Conservative Party - 07/02/2024

A party political broadcast by the Conservative Party.

His spelling is terrible 😬😳

Anjea · 07/02/2024 19:58

I love a flip chart

Pigeonqueen · 07/02/2024 20:10

I actually laughed watching this 🤣

It was just so old fashioned and silly.

2dogsandabudgie · 07/02/2024 20:27

I liked the flip chart, it was short and to the point. Better than the party political broadcasts where they just waffle on.

I used to be a PA to an executive years ago and his spelling was atrocious.
