Does anyone else feel unnerved by the news about King Charles?

Yes I know this belongs in the Royal section but more traffic here for people feeling like I do.

King Charles has cancer, I am sure William is wondering if he will become King sooner than he anticipated. It makes me wonder too if Kate will be okay due to her recent surgery - William really needs her by his side if he is going to take on the Big Job.

Harry rushing home feels bad to me. I mean, it's good that he is coming to see his dad but it makes me feel as though it's serious - I just hope, hope it's not pancreatic cancer - but I just don't have a good feeling.

The Queen's only been gone 16 months. I feel out of sorts. Anyone else?

@Hoglet70 No but you know what I mean. No one here gets out alive. Smile

@porridgeisbae fair point!

@bringincrazyback "Poor people tend to lead less healthy lifestyles but that's generally their own choice."

Couldn't agree more. They've probably all gone t flat screen TVs too.

In other news-you're talking rubbish.

Some people in lower socio-economic groups do make poorer lifestyle choices than wealthier people on average. But there are all sorts of reasons for that. Yes it's 'their fault' but also complex.

(I am working class myself and I don't have the healthiest lifestyle but better than some. But I haven't had the extent of trauma a lot of people have from their family background etc.)

@porridgeisbae Indeed. And privileged people aren't usually deemed morally deficient for having a bar of chocolate or a glass of wine when they've had a bad day.

Or for buying M&S ready meals.

porridgeisbae · 11/02/2024 20:21

@CurlewKate Yes I mean obviously it's things like obesity and smoking that make the main difference, or a significant amount of drinking. No one would think it was a good idea for a posh person either really.

I do know what you mean.

It's been an unstable 3 years and all the institutions we (thought) were knew and loved have been exposed as shams with corruption and greed behind most of them,

It's no surprise you feel unstable and this hasn't helped.

Honestly he looks considerably older than his years so his biological age is about 80+. I gave him 3 years on the throne at most so he's on track in my reckoning.

Don't like him for being weak and fooling our young and naive Diana but isn't that what most older men have been doing for centuries? He's another of the traditional misogynist brigade with the royal entitlement on top too.

Hopefully Kate will change a lot for women so we are seen as equal humans at last but she needs to get over her eating issues at first and find her own identity other than wearing royal second hand clothes. She needs to have a good few meals and woman up to the big job that is on the horizon. She can do it! 💪🍀🤞

No. Because life is change. That's reality.

You really think it's o.k that the jewels in the crown were stolen? Basically.

I never get unnerved or worried about things I cannot control.

It's futile and a little bit foolish.
