Strange "stumbled upon" food combinations!

I'll start! I was once getting low on provisions, coming up to the big shop!
I wanted something tasty, didn't have a sandwich toaster, but wanted toasties.
So, I made corned beef and Stilton toasties, the old way, under the grill! They were absolutely the nicest thing ever!
So what's your stumbled upon strange food combination?

Warm pitta bread with hummus inside, the crunchy bits from an iceberg lettuce and a thick layer of salad cream.

Gets all your cravings at once, crunch, sweet, sour, salty and umami. Nom.

Baked beans, cheese, loads of ketchup and pasta mmmmmm

A whole Philadelphia cheese turned upside down on a plate with sweet chilli all over it. Such a good dip!

I work in a sandwich bar and some of the combinations are 😱
Prawns, egg, sausage and chilli pasta in a sandwich!
Roast beef and beetroot jelly!
Ham, grapes, peach, chicken and potato salad in a wrap then toasted!
I'd hate to be cleaning out their cages!

Peanut butter (crunchy)and cucumber sandwiches - must be in brown/granary bread
hot porridge with a blob of cold custard on top

I'm reminded of several decades ago when my American SIL made a sandwich with Marmite, lemon curd and tinned salmon - and declared it to be pretty good.

Funnily enough, I've never felt the need to check it out for myself!

Sprouts, carrots, cherry tomatoes, olives in a dish, grated cheese on top in the oven. Yummy

Similar to yours OP. Corned beef, cheddar and mango chutney toasties. Perfection!

Yes! I love sticky marmalade sausages!

Bacon, peanutbutter & banna (butter)fried toasty

I always put my onion ring crisps inside my sandwich at lunch and it's just the best!

Hot chips or any baked/fried potato product with soy sauce.

Crunchy peanut butter spread on bread topped with a layer of salad cream

Grated cheddar on top of a mug of tomato soup

To be fair there's nothing strange about cheese & tomato, it's one of the world's best combinations. I could demolish tomato soup & grated cheddar, mmmm.

Sandwich crunchy peanut, grated cheddar and grated carrot. Delicious 🤤

Bacon wrapped around banana and grilled. My DH loves this.

And Marmite and houmous on toast.

Red wine and coke, it’s popular in Spain so I wouldn’t say I stumbled across it but everyone in the uk thinks I’m odd.

Got to have peanut butter with a chicken curry

Weetabix with salted butter. No milk, just butter

Bacon and marmalade on toast

Baked beans mixed with hot fajita spice, served on with boiled white rice - topped with tons of grated mature cheddar.

I made this as a make do meal as a student (when I was running out of food/money and wanted carby goodness)
So delicious! I’m on a low carb diet at the moment and would kill for some lol

@Jifmicroliquid I love malibu and milk! People used to look at me strangely when I tipped up at parties, with a bottle of each!!!

Thank you all! You wouldn't believe the amount of "oohing" noises I've been doing reading these!
I've heard bacon and banana goes well together, but I've never dared try it, as I don't want to waste either! And I've had marmalade and sausages, that works brilliantly!
Once had mint sauce on a chicken dinner, a mate loved it, so I tried it! It works!

Seriously wondering how many of these odd food combos were stumbled upon during pregnancy…

Cheddar and hoisin sauce sandwiches, with optional grated carrot too

Smooth Branston as a dip for cold sausages, crisps, anything salty really

Vinegar swirled into soup

Roast beef and beetroot sandwiches are amazing too
