Can people post flight numbers of the interesting ones please so I can find them (new to FR)

Ta

I'm watching Gatwick. You can see them coming in to land and going back up again. Flightradar also has 10 most tracked flights which I'm keeping my eye on too. Also Edinburgh is having problems atm.

Thought the Glasgow flight is GLA-Alicante? Is it the same aircraft?

Yes it’s the same one from Alicante that failed to land and Leeds and diverted to Glasgow, now heading back to Alicante.

MirandaWest · 22/01/2024 00:39

I really do need to go to sleep….

IceWhites · 22/01/2024 00:39

I guess they will all have to give up and go across the channel soon. It’ll be unsafe to have pilots landing who have worked over shift and are starting to get tired

And me. I was going to watch until the Antalya one landed, assuming it would get to Gatwick

AgathaMystery · 22/01/2024 00:40

I think kittillia is going to the Timba stack.

lezsucks · 22/01/2024 00:40

I heard it go and initially it wasn’t showing a destination. Must either be a delayed flight from earlier or repositioning flight.

JumperForMyCoffee · 22/01/2024 00:40

Lisbon luton down in Manchester!

Pull down from the search bar at the top of FR and it shows the current 10 most-watched flights.

JellicleCat · 22/01/2024 00:40

So, if you are heading form Alicante to Leeds and end up in Glasgow, do you get off there or head back to Alicante? Hmm

StinkyLittleBastrads · 22/01/2024 00:41

Thankyou!

I don't think Tenerife even tried, at gatwick

Poor pilots

AgathaMystery · 22/01/2024 00:41

Tenerife just climbed at Gatwick. Crumbs!

SurreyMumOfOne · 22/01/2024 00:41

Interesting the Gran Canaria easyJet flight hasn't headed out across the Channel after Antalya and Jersey.

pinkpetunias · 22/01/2024 00:42

the TUI from Tenerife also just went back up at Gatwick. There’s a wizz air from Athens over the channel due to land at gatwick shortly, will see how that goes!

When my Manchester flight became a Glasgow flight just before covid we got papped off in Glasgow then waited 4 hours before being bussed to Manchester

When a plane is trying to land, what are cross winds ?

They ideally need to take off and land facing into the wind, so anything buffeting them from the sides - cross winds - is bad news. Like when you’re driving on motorways and it’s hitting you from the sides and the lorries are wobbling.

FlappyFish · 22/01/2024 00:43

The jersey flight looks like it’s going to Paris now. I’m with you all. I should put my phone down, but I’m invested darn it.

StinkyLittleBastrads · 22/01/2024 00:44

Ryanair OTPmade it at Edinburgh woo

Just noticed that! Crazy stuff.

JumperForMyCoffee · 22/01/2024 00:44

Seem to be landing ok at Luton now.

dancinginthewind · 22/01/2024 00:44

I'm wondering what the pilots on the JFK - Mumbai flight are thinking as they head just south of Gatwick and see chaos all around them.

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 22/01/2024 00:45

The Dublin-Edinburgh that aborted is still climbing

And looking like it’s heading across the sea…

AgathaMystery · 22/01/2024 00:45

Bet they’re thinking they can’t wait for a G&T at lunch tomorrow in the sunshine!

Pearbear · 22/01/2024 00:45

Bucharest to Edinburg landed on its first try

TheFireflies · 22/01/2024 00:46

Bucharest-Edinburgh has landed. One on the score sheet for Ryanair at least.
