He described the aborted attempt at landing in Dublin as being like "one of those bulls that tries to throw you off", I think he means a mechanical bull machine. How terrifying.

t’s just so unfortunate that cologne is an option (I know it has a Ryanair base) because I’d rather be in Amsterdam or Paris because least then you’d have the option of a Eurostar home if it came to it!

Well, the winds are already pretty bad here and coming our way tomorrow so that's not an option.

Is it Ryan Air RYR7ZQ Shannon-Edinburgh that has diverted to Cologne after aborted landing attempts?

The Stanstead-edinburgh is definitely going to Shannon, even though it says Dublin

It’s more worrying for those who now have to drive home. The A roads and Motorways are suppose to be lethal in these winds horrible all round and so unsafe

The haulage companies seemed to have listened- my BIL drove Glasgow to Birmingham this afternoon and said there were far far fewer lorries on the road than usual

I’m in the midlands but the wind seems to be really picking up again now :( calmed for a while

STN-EDI, diverted to Dublin, landed in Shannon! Those poor passengers, in the air for two and a half hours. I can go to sleep now 🙈😂

It's not landed yet ...

I'm on the 9th floor of a building and it's rumbling right now. I can also see depending on the weather flights landing at Glasgow. I'm so glad I'm not on a plane right now and I've been on many and never had an aborted landing.

Midlands here too about 10 miles from BHX, we just had another rain squall but it's gone quiet again. Not much activity at Birmingham Airport.

Am I looking at this flight radar wrong or is the Manchester to Stansted Ryanair flight about to land in Budapest? Really must go back to sleep.

Oh I suppose it must be on onward flight. Definitely need sleep.

Just catching up! Budapest! That’s insane!

Instead of going back to sleep I went to twitter.. Seems to be a Budapest - Stansted flight, diverted to Manchester where lots of passengers got off & then it tried to go back to Stansted but couldn't land & so returned to Budapest.

Diversions still happening again this morning by the looks of it, a POZ-LBA has flew past LBA and currently over Bolton.

Tenerife flight just mentioned on radio 4. Someone said it would be in the Daily Mail today - half way there 😄
