London to Edinburgh’s not doing very well.

Can anyone see what’s going on with RYR31NM it’s on its 4th attempt but others have landed fine at Dublin in last 3 mins!

It's only attempted once!

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 21/01/2024 21:15

Sharm el sheikh to Glasgow is going around as it was at 2500 feet last time I looked and now it’s at over 6000

XiCi · 21/01/2024 21:15

Do you mean weather wise? I'm in the NW and wind not bad at all here, its quite calm actually so can understand why they are being diverted to Liverpool and Manchester

I'm on the NW coast and the wind is hideous!

Christmasnutcracker · 21/01/2024 21:16

The Berlin to Dublin flight must be very scary for those on board but the Paris to Dublin seems to have landed.

Watching this one and now keeping an eye on the Prague flight behind them to see if it gets down. 70 mile an hour winds here

ademanlu · 21/01/2024 21:16

Gran Canaria to Belfast has just landed in Paris!

MumblesParty · 21/01/2024 21:17

TeaandHobnobs · 21/01/2024 21:13

Obviously I feel for the passengers, who must be feeling very stressed, and the pilots who must be feeling the pressure… but air traffic control must be having a hell of a night trying to keep on top of all of this, both at airports and en route for those that are diverting!

I wonder if they bring in extra staff on days like this. I’d love it if an air traffic controller did AMA.

Alicante to Leeds earlier today

GRAN CAN > BELFAST is finally down in PARIS bless them

Hiyawotcha · 21/01/2024 21:17

My Frankfurt/heathrow one (watching - not a passenger thankfully) has landed - bit late but safe on the ground.

mauvish · 21/01/2024 21:18

Leeds - Geneva over Wharfedale, coming in to Leeds

Clearinguptheclutter · 21/01/2024 21:18

Ryanair Berlin to Dublin having a second go now. It’s had several circles but only one aborted landing as far as I can see.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 21/01/2024 21:18

RYR994F (Luton to Cork) on its fourth circling... make that fifth...

I think it might be going to prestwick

Skigal86 · 21/01/2024 21:18

Just seen a couple if Jet2 flights to EMA have diverted to stansted. I’m about 10 miles away and it’s got really wet and windy in the last half hour having not been too bad all afternoon/evening. Just seen a DHL flight has landed there but another has gone around again.

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 21/01/2024 21:18

What happens if they can't land after x number of attempts and low fuel??

Knitgoodwoman · 21/01/2024 21:19

Thanks @NoKateMoss I'm ironically a bit of a nervous flyer, but I'll gladly fly with him, he's a very good pilot.

Thousands of hours in the RAF, 2 years to covert to commercial, months on the specific jet he flies... then every 2/3 months he has a trainer and training captain check him over with specific emergency scenarios. JET2 are meticulous about safety and process, engineering is top notch, very happy flying with them!

(he has mates at BA, Virgin and easyJet who are also good, I would also trust the RAF!).

MumblesParty · 21/01/2024 21:19

Where abouts can you see altitude?

Ffswtf · 21/01/2024 21:19

Wonder if some Glasgow bound flights will end up at Prestwick

Hiyawotcha · 21/01/2024 21:20

I think there is always a contingency plan. They carry loads of fuel don’t they? For that very circumstance.

Christmasnutcracker · 21/01/2024 21:20

Dublin London looks like its just getting ready to take off.

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 21/01/2024 21:18

I think it is! Another flight did the same earlier so maybe somehow easier to land there with the wind direction

waterdusky · 21/01/2024 21:20

That's interesting. I am just east over the boarder and it's really bad here. My windows and doors are shaking

HobnobsChoice · 21/01/2024 21:20

Wondering where EZY62WA is heading. Was Geneva to Gatwick but just crossed the Channel and over Rouen. Another one heading for Paris?
