Manchester belfast has just finally landed - back at Manchester

Lastminutebride · 21/01/2024 19:57

How did I not know about the excitement of flight radar! I’m going to be hooked now. Just watching Cardiff flight

PatriciaHolm · 21/01/2024 19:57

Plovdiv squawk might be for fuel? It was supposed to be in the air 4 hours, it's over 5 now...

Has anyone ever been on similar flights that were holding, go arounds or diverts (after hours circling and trying). I can't imagine what the passengers must be thinking, although I'm sure the crew are excellent at announcements. The pilots know the limits also.

Just wondered. The only time I had an issue was going to Nice and the weather there was very windy. Tried twice, gave up and went to Toulon. I will never forget the attempted landings. I don't care what anyone says there cannot be anyone who would be super calm in those circumstances! We got going again from Toulouse to Nice eventually.

Yes, but for fog. Which isn't as dramatic - a smooth circle while waiting, and aborted attempts called off well above the runway, so although we had 4 tries it was more dull than anything. With wind I've only experienced a single abort with a successful landing on the second try (bumpy, and practically came in sideways, but safely down).

My guess would be the 7700s are fuel related. Both aircraft have been holding for some time. They carry enough so when I say low I don't mean they are going to run out but they sqwak
7700 and will be prioritised

friskybivalves · 21/01/2024 20:00

Ooooh new thread - how exciting!

Apparently FR633 from Manchester to Dublin (previously the Copenhagen to Dublin flight) is currently diverting to Belfast Aldergrove.

Watching the Cardiff Dublin flight
Goodness me it has circled a lot

Landed!

lshark · 21/01/2024 20:01

Yes just seen!!!

BasilParsley · 21/01/2024 20:02

Plovdiv diverted from BFS is now landing at Manchester - successfully it seems...

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 21/01/2024 20:03

Jet 2 to Bristol coming in to BHX.. at least they don't have that far to go on the bus!

Myn · 21/01/2024 20:03

I'm now a golden flight radar geek! I have got the golden pass. Now to figure out how the hell it all works.

BasilParsley · 21/01/2024 20:04

The other 7700 AMS to GLA is now approaching Manchester it seems

TotoAnnihiliation · 21/01/2024 20:04

I live under the flight path for Birmingham. Is furtaventura to Bristol being diverted to Birmingham?

I'm new to this, and I'm trying to understand it all.

Advice400 · 21/01/2024 20:04

Just seen Cardiff and Malta to Dubllin land.

Any other good watches currently?

HobnobsChoice · 21/01/2024 20:06

Looks like .EXS34W Lanzarote to Glasgow is heading into Manchester too. It's just flown overhead and I'm very much not in Scotland

Yes just landed

RainbowZebraWarrior · 21/01/2024 20:06

Quite a few flights have been diverted here to Newcastle. Two flights due to land at Glasgow having to land here instead (one just landed, and one on its way in after circling Glasgow) Also, the Gran Canaria > Dublin flights is coming here, too. Due in about 15 mins.

Ionacat · 21/01/2024 20:06

I’m still watching Manchester-Dublin which looked like it was going to Newcastle but seems to be going back to Ireland.

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 21/01/2024 20:07

Buzz from budapest just aborted at stansted at 900ft, presume going round, veered right on approach so i think was no longer inline with runway

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 21/01/2024 20:07

I’ve just been googling the history behind squawking 😁

TeaandHobnobs · 21/01/2024 20:08

Looks like a few flights heading out west over the storm have gone up to 40,000ft, which is a bit unusual (but understandable!)

BasilParsley · 21/01/2024 20:09

Looks like the MAN to DUB is attempting to get back to MAN again...
