Where is Manchester-Dublin off to? It seems some planes are managing to land there at the moment.

Looks to be headed in Shannon direction but might turn around. Yet again.

Just asked pilot friend, Alicante-Leeds he reckons is going over the wash to dump fuel before returning to Leeds?! Not sure looks like may be going Amsterdam!

How well do you know this guy?

737s can't dump fuel.

I’m not going to respond to that ridiculous reply to my post. Looks like Leeds is a no go at the moment.

Don’t worry - it spoke volumes about that poster!

wildernesssw · 21/01/2024 22:46

Zurich-Gatwick tried to land but now climbing again

Shannon???

Moaning5 · 21/01/2024 22:46

Layman but long term FR geek 😂

Are people on this thread mainly people who have professional training or relatives in/piloting these planes? Or like me, looking layman-style at FlightRadar going 'Oooh, wiggly planes!'

I initially read it as 'Flight Trader', too, like 'Auto Trader'... such a novice...

I think it's fair to say there are a few professional or ex-professional aviators on here.

Onacuctustree · 21/01/2024 22:42

I am a complete AV geek.
I just don't understand why fights from Edinburgh, Cardiff etc were allowed to take off into Dublin.
Weather conditions were known.

Because some flights are landing into Dublin. And if it's DUB based crews operating the flights not only will the airlines want the planes back where they should be to prevent any knock on effect for the mornings flights but the crews will also want to get home rather than being stuck at an outstation for the night.

msmatcha · 21/01/2024 22:46

Alicante heading back to Leeds! What's going on?

wildernesssw · 21/01/2024 22:46

Gran Canaria-Gatwick giving it a go...

mauvish · 21/01/2024 22:47

The Alicante flight looks to be heading back towards Leeds!
Maybe the pilot got bored with circling so decided to fly out over Lincolnshire for a change
(Joking! I know it doesn't work like that!)

Tinkerbyebye · 21/01/2024 22:47

Wonder if the Alicante flight into Leeds is going to try and land the other way, hence the big circle

Countrylife2002 · 21/01/2024 22:47

Alicante going back to Leeds?

I can’t keep up with this thread and FR and I must sleep!

ArnieLinson · 21/01/2024 22:47

Dixiechick1991 · 21/01/2024 22:44

I’m watching the leeds flights as I’m ten mins from the airport. It is still veryVERY strong winds here. Even landing on a slightly breezy summer day at LBA is bumpy. I can’t imagine how they’re feeling up there.

I used to live in horsforth and yeadon many moons ago.

cakeorwine · 21/01/2024 22:47

Alicante flight going over my house!!

There’s been 100’s of posts on this thread yet @Strangermanger chose one reply on this thread to jump on

well it would be a tad overboard if I responded to every post no?

EwwSprouts · 21/01/2024 22:47

@watchkeys I'm like you. Very new to this but strangely fascinated and awed.

God knows; it's heading SW over Ireland now Confused

Limerick perhaps?

How many planes did you try to buy before you realised? 😂

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/01/2024 22:48

Sorry, should have said Shannon, not Limerick ...

Wait til you find big jet tv ….

Tinkerbyebye · 21/01/2024 22:48

Or is the Alicante flight into LBA just going a long way round to use up fuel

jmx3 · 21/01/2024 22:48

The top 7 tracked flights are all destined for Dublin.

PolledandBolled · 21/01/2024 22:48

The most horrifying thing is that the cockpit will be in a sterile environment as per landing/extreme weather so it’s 99% likely passengers will not have been informed completely what is happening. Must be awful to be up there in the dark with zero idea where you are or when you’re to land

wildernesssw · 21/01/2024 22:49

And Gran Canaria -Gatwick seems to have landed, unlike the previous 2!

I am glad I'm safely on land...
