Malaga to Gatwick and Barcelona to Gatwick have both failed to land and are now back over northern France

alicante to leeds needs to give up at this point!

They’ve not attempted once yet, just doing circles at 10,000 ft

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 21/01/2024 22:17

Jesus I went away from thread and came back to 225 new messages 😂

I’m waiting for Alicante and Leeds and Wroclaw. Really need to go to sleep but addicted!

Edited

WRO-LBA is way too high to land, not sure what’s going on!

Alicante is on its third perfect loop

Bimblesalong · 21/01/2024 22:17

Milan to Gatwick is working very hard

mauvish · 21/01/2024 22:17

RYR74VZ going round again, maybe it'll have a second bash at Dublin.

Looks like RYR26VZ from Wroclaw is coming in to Leeds again.

mummyh2016 · 21/01/2024 22:17

EDI-DUB also going around.

HuntingForChicken · 21/01/2024 22:17

I live near Manchester and whilst it was blowing a gale an hour ago it has gone surprisingly quiet so makes sense that planes are diverting here.

Journeytosober · 21/01/2024 22:17

Tenerife managed to get down at Gatwick. Hopefully the Milan one will have a bit more luck next time

cakeorwine · 21/01/2024 22:17

Did that Wroklaw plane just "buzz" Leeds airport at 20,000 ft?

Whoops no. The Wrocllaw plane didn't get below 20000 ft and is off again.

BiddyPop · 21/01/2024 22:18

I was looking at DUB at lunchtime and already there were a lot of go arounds and holding patterns.

Worst I've been in was taking 2 attempts at GVA (not unusual in itself) but because it means you need to go all the way out of the valley to go around, you only get a 2nd but not a 3rd shot there and this pilot warned us he was determined to land us so it was very bumpy coming down and quite a thump and swerve as we hit the tarmac.

Going off to have a look now to see how many are still trying...

pinkpetunias · 21/01/2024 22:19

AMS-EDI due to land in approx 13 mins, wonder how that’s going to go

Think it's going back to Manchester now.

mauvish · 21/01/2024 22:19

It looks as though the Man- Dub flight is being sent out over the Irish Sea, maybe it will circle there as the previous one did.

EwwSprouts · 21/01/2024 22:19

Looks like Ryannair WRO- LBA staying in the area.

feellikeanalien · 21/01/2024 22:20

Wonder what's going to happen to the Berlin-Glasgow flight. No signs of any aircraft round Glasgow at all at the moment.

carly2803 · 21/01/2024 22:20

2 circling over leeds airport -
what on earth is going on? is the weather that bad ?

Countrylife2002 · 21/01/2024 22:20

Clearinguptheclutter · 21/01/2024 22:14

Mid air refueling is not a thing for passenger flights
they would have had to throw everything at landing. Most go-arounds happen when pilots are not 100% happy to land, not that they “can’t”

Jeez. And how low on fuel would this flight have been? I suppose they can always land, it’s a risk assessment thing

mauvish · 21/01/2024 22:21

Alicante - Leeds seems t o be on its 4th circuit but hasn't dropped altitude below10000 ft. That and the Wroclaw plane are the only ones there atm, and neither has actually tried to land.

VWd · 21/01/2024 22:21

Just reading posts from passengers having been diverted to prestwick tonight. I’m guessing it’s because all public transport is cancelled but they’re now stuck there with no info about transport back to Glasgow 😑 Is it not up to the airline to get you back in these circumstances? They seem to think it’s not

SecretKeeper1 · 21/01/2024 22:21

cakeorwine · 21/01/2024 22:14

But how are they making that perfect loop?! If you zoom in the north bit of it there are four trails the same. Is it autopilot?

cakeorwine · 21/01/2024 22:21

"And below you, if you look carefully, you can see Leeds airport"

Just seen this on X / Twitter relating to the Krakow to Bristol flight I was tracking earlier when it failed to land at Bristol. Sounds like they had a terrible journey altogether and landing at Stansted wasn't easy either...

Bristol is a terrible airport in bad weather.

On a flight back from Dublin years ago we were warned we might be diverted to Cardiff. Thankfully we weren't but it was a but scarey when the wing tip scraped the ground.

My flight to Genoa was diverted to Pisa years ago due to turbulence. I hate flying but at least I got to see the leaning tower of pisa in person.

SlinkMcSlink · 21/01/2024 22:22

gran Canadian to Gatwick just gone back up!
