WRO-LBA hasn’t even attempted leeds airport, wonder where they’re going

Two trying to land at LBA now, how do they make such identical go arounds. Looks like it’s only one circle but it’s two

Glad Sharm is down safely. I bet that's going to be a pain getting back up to Glasgow for some of them.

I am going to give my boring bit of runway trivia - but it's also good for teaching children about bearings.

Did you see that plane was coming in at 230 degrees? It was landing at Manchester on runway 23 - so that's why it came in at 230 degrees (23 * 10)

There were 2 runways so it went for the right one. 23 R.

You can work out what the number at the opposite end would be - by using bearings!! 05L

Some airports have loads of runways with R,C and L.

It helps children guess bearings and then work out reciprical bearings.

I keep looking at the Windy app - it’s quite a picture out there.

I've been on a plane that aborted landing due to an airport vehicle driving onto the runway. That was scary as the plane very steeply went up again with loads of engine noise. When we went away last year there was a storm and the airport approach is tricky (Tivat) meaning we circled a couple of times before landing and it was very windy which was pretty horrible. The flight ahead of ours diverted to Dubrovnik.

Waiting for the Alicante flight to land I think. Third time lucky!

From what I've seen on Twitter many of the passengers on diverted flights are still sitting on the planes hours later

Flew back from Orlando on Thursday night and so bloody glad I missed this weather!

Mid air refueling is not a thing for passenger flights
they would have had to throw everything at landing. Most go-arounds happen when pilots are not 100% happy to land, not that they “can’t”

The UPS flight has given up at Nottingham and looks like it’s heading from London. A earlier passenger flight due to land at Nottingham went to Stansted. Wonder if those other two flights holding at Nottingham will make it in or divert

I would be a little nervous on that Glasgow-Dublin flight. Especially sitting for so long at Glasgow waiting to take off, it’s wild here just now.
