Tesco- no delivery

VanLife33 · 21/01/2024 12:00

Assuming Tesco has gone down,
Delivery was due between 9 and 10am this morning - not arrived.

Website and app seem to be up and running
No notifications or explanation as to why my order has not been delivered

Anyone else had any problems with their orders this morning?

Call them?

Stubbedtoes · 21/01/2024 12:02

Call them - their call centre is really good when I've used it. When this happened to me the driver had broken down somewhere with no signal hence no notification to me

KindleGirlie · 21/01/2024 12:04

There was a big outage with dot com this morning. Hope you manage to rearrange a delivery

DustyLee123 · 21/01/2024 12:04

When mine was late recently it was due to a problem with the cool part of the storage n the van. A text or email would have been nice.

wizbit93 · 21/01/2024 12:05

I'm the same. I've tried calling but it just says they have experienced high call volumes and then cuts off. I've tried the WhatsApp feature and it says they'll reply in two hours, maybe longer at peak times! I've already had the receipt and the money has been taken out of my bank account, yet the app says it is 'preparing my order'. What a shambles!!!!

Sofabum · 21/01/2024 12:06

We've had this so often we've switched to ocado after three years with tesco. We tend to order evening deliveries and had multiple times where the delivery says it'll be late and we end up staying up for it especially and then it never arriving.

VanLife33 · 21/01/2024 12:16

I've called, they said to call back at another time and did the WhatsApp chat that also said something about it being 2 hours like pp

They haven't taken money or anything yet so that's something I guess

Order is saying being prepared so I don't know whether to wait and see

Hopfully you can get it sorted

VanLife33 · 21/01/2024 12:24

I've sent DH out for essentials

I was hoping to batten down the hatches for the storm today not venture out for provisions .
Oh well

I've booked a slot for Tuesday in the event of a no show delivery

@wizbit93
I hope you get your delivery sorted especially as they've taken your monies!
A shambles indeed!

Why do people assume supermarkets are not at the mercy of technical issues like everywhere else?
Our system was down for hours earlier, we all turned up at 6.00am, whilst everyone else still in bed, we unable to pick for three and a half hours.

VanLife33 · 21/01/2024 12:35

I understand they have technical issues
I just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same problem or just me !

I think the issue is that they could communicate this with people waiting for their deliveries surely? Even a one size fits all mass text/email to anyone with a slot booked "we are having issues". I only use online deliveries when desperate ie poorly and when the money has left your account and you're waiting around it's annoying the onus is on you to wait for ages on hold to try and find out if they're coming or not. I'm sure people would then be more understanding.

VanLife33 · 21/01/2024 12:38

That's it! It's the not knowing what's going on ...
I don't want to go to the shop and spend again for the delivery to arrive
And I don't want to not get stuff in if it's not coming at all.
Like pp said a blanket message or something would be good

People don't assume. But it doesn't take much common sense for someone to realise they should let their customers know. Even if they can't access the details of the customers expecting deliveries today it doesn't take 5 mins to knock up a notice on the website explaining they're having issues.

VanLife33 · 21/01/2024 12:43

As a pp is also having issues today, I'm going to assume it's a more wide spread issue and not just me.

Tesco have distribution centres and large supplying stores everywhere.
It would be helpful to know where posters are geographically to be able
to comment knowledgeably, eg.,
We have with Tesco for this afternoon which will come from Aylesbury,

no doubt half of it unavailable as usual but as yet? no technical issues.

VanLife33 · 21/01/2024 12:44

I'm in mid devon

My tracking said that the delivery was delayed and estimated arrival time was a long time after the booked delivery window. The update did not change after that so I assumed there was an issue however it turned up within the original window. Driver said there had been a computer issue and lots of deliveries were cancelled. I am in NW but clearly a national issue.

spanieleyes · 21/01/2024 12:50

Had 4 messages this morning, the first to say the money had been taken, the next to say my delivery was ready and would soon be on its way, the next that it had been cancelled and my money would be refunded in 3-5 days and finally that I would receive a £10 voucher for the disruption.
We went to Morrisons instead!

VanLife33 · 21/01/2024 12:52

That's good you've been updated .. I haven't heard a thing.
I'll assume it will get cancelled and just rebook it for Tuesday as tomorrow is fully booked.

OP posts:
Oakdog · 21/01/2024 12:54

Mine's just been cancelled for this evening. I was putting that down to the weather forecast though!

VanLife33 · 21/01/2024 12:56

I actually went to change my slot to arrive for yesterday as I was worried it would be cancelled due to the weather but for some reason I didn't 😭.
Kicking myself now lol

Note to self - listen to intuition

I went to pick up my click and collect which was due for collection between 10-11am. I got there at 10:10 and was told that their system had gone down and nothing had been picked and I hadn't been charged. Bit annoying that there was no way of letting people know (which I guess there isnt if the system is down!), but it is what it is. Went in store and only forgot one thing and also managed to pick up a couple of bits which were showing an unavailable when I logged in yesterday to add on a couple of things.
