I have fucked up badly

Omg I have Been find 400 for for tipping 250 if I pay within 10 days .

This would have been during in my time of struggling badly with my house and the state it was in my bins getting over full and really struggling with everything really badly.

I know I should not have done it but I was struggling. As far as I know they are talking about a couple of bits I took to the communal bins . ( they don't belong to me house) but to the flats behinde me. I couldn't get the bits in the bin. So I left them next to the bin. They would have been bits of wood from a unit i think .

They have considered this fly tipping. You cannot just get rid of stuff like this. This is why people pay a man with a van or the council to take stuff away if you cannot get to the tip personally. You've ended up getting the blame for the lot of it.

TitaniasAss · 20/01/2024 16:23

OP We all fuck up sometimes and I don't think this thread was a good idea. Do you have any real life support?

NoraBattysCurlers · 20/01/2024 16:24

Social media leaking news of POW hysterectomy?

US teens who sit in their bedrooms on social media are certain to have a hot line direct to Kensington Palace. Dreadful that they don't keep the privileged information they're given confidential and feel the need to leak it.

But that's is teens for you!

RaccoonOnTheSofa · 20/01/2024 16:26

Maybe it’s worth gleaning off the useful information from this thread and asking Mn to get it deleted @Shamefullhouse? it’s clearly not supporting you. Step away from the computer, it’s not good for you right now.

Blueberrycreampie · 20/01/2024 16:28

This is something that really annoys me - when councils don't give people enough bins - I know we should be reducing waste for landfill but a lot of that looks like recycling materials or suitable for the local tip. Not everyone can get there so there should be more provision. They'd be better targeting the cowboys who dump stuff in the country - to me that's real fly tipping.

Because there's not. All the positive stuff has gone .Because I fucked up .

It’s only a little fuck up. I work for environmental health and deal with flytipping. This is small-medium scale flytipping.
Just pay the fine, move on.

TheMamaYo · 20/01/2024 16:37

You’ve been doing so well. We all mess up from time to time, and do things that others don’t approve of.

You took responsibility for it, you are wanting to make things right. That’s all so positive. Please, ask for help. Could we support you in writing a letter to email, asking for payment options? Do you need to talk to someone rather than just read words from people who don’t realise where you are at emotionally?
You don’t always fuck up. You made a mistake. This is not huge, it is fixable. Please try to focus on practical steps to get out of it, and the positive changes you’ve made so far.

Oh my god I've done this times 😳😳

We're a family of 5 and our bin is tiny and they only collect fortnightly . We honestly recycle as much as humanly possible but still end up with them both full before collection - Our council is absolutely shit

So we've got two communal bins on a green near our house and I wait til it's dark and get rid of a couple of small bin bags

On a side note - how sad and pathetic would someone need to be to take pics and grass you up. Some people have absolutely no lives

Here's the thing though, you getting rid of a couple of small bags means those who have a legitimate right to dispose of rubbish in those bins may no longer be able to dispose of their couple of small bags because you (cheeky fucker) have already filled their space.

If I lived in an area where CFs like you did this, I'd happily film you and submit the evidence.

PS I have a life and a sense of fairness. 😊

Some of the stuff is not even mine. Even when I pay the 250. I still have more stuff to get rid of. I can't even put it in my garden until I save up to get a collection. At least if I had a month or a bit more I could save up for a skip. But this way I have to pay 250 ok my fault I get that. But also I have to sort out the crap in my own front garden before i can afford a skip so I'm going in circles. Its impossible

Wrong thread?

If you recognise you’ve fucked up you’ll have no problems accepting the consequences and paying the fine then, will you?

Can you move it to your back garden?

Wow after seeing the pics I don't think you have a leg to stand on. Pay the fine and don't fly tip again

Do you drive? Can you take to a tip?
Or each week just put a little bit in your black bin?

Rubyfw5 · 20/01/2024 16:52

@shamefullhouse, if you are anywhere in Kent, PM me, I will fill my car and do a tip run for you. Sorry to see you're having and getting such a hard time.

Cinai · 20/01/2024 16:54

I’m sorry that you find yourself in this situation and it is a huge fine. However, there’s also another side to it. People often dump large items next to my property, sometimes even on my private driveway or doorstep, which I then have to pay to get removed. Over the last three years, I probably paid about £200-£250 to get other people’s rubbish removed. I think it’s just not on, and unfair for the person who has to pay for the removal for you.

AlwaysGinPlease · 20/01/2024 16:55

If that's all your stuff you left there then you deserve

Then that's how you're going to have to do it. Sorry but you are an adult, there are organisations that can help you and I'm sure your council can signpost you to reputable ones in your area. No one here will give you the money or the means to get you out of this mess, the only person who can fix this is you. Call the Samaritans, talk to a human voice then call the council on Monday to get their advice and signposting. Just do not bury your head in the sand.

AlwaysGinPlease · 20/01/2024 16:55

Oops pressed send in error . You deserve the fine. Shocking behaviour. How could you think it's ok?!

pickledandpuzzled · 20/01/2024 16:56

Please don’t panic and pay a man with a van to take things. Such men aren’t reliable and sometimes dump it elsewhere.
It would be better to talk to a neighbour and give them a bottle of wine to take yours when they next go.

Try and break things small enough to fit in the bin.
Most of all, don’t let it stop you. Just do a little at a time where and when you can.

101Nutella · 20/01/2024 17:01

@Shamefullhouse if I have too much cardboard I have to wait until the next collection. I wouldn’t just leave it in a big box or pile. It’s still littering and can just blow around.

ask for a payment plan.
you obviously have the internet and can google things so you could have looked for other options instead of fly tipping. Councils can often collect old furniture etc if you book it. You could have asked the bin men at collection if they would take extra cardboard etc. you know taken a bit of effort to deal with your mess.

but you chose to make it someone else’s problem. And you now have consequences to your selfish actions. I’m glad. Imagine if we all did this!

whether they pulled it out or not you would be fly tipping if you left one item dumped so you are in the wrong.

9outof10cats · 20/01/2024 17:01

What I am seeing is a lot of that stuff is in your garden, so not fly tipping. Perhaps they are not including that in the offence???

I understand what you are saying about the cardboard - but some of the packaging has not been flattened - which may have made it difficult to fit in the recycling vehicle.

Where I live we have really small plastic boxes for cardboard. To fit as much in as possible I flatten all packaging and fold it into a smaller sizes. If the packaging is huge, I do the same and put it neatly beside the box. My refuge collectors are really good and take it all, whether inside or outside the box. I guess some areas are stricter than others.
