Omg I have Been find 400 for for tipping 250 if I pay within 10 days .

This would have been during in my time of struggling badly with my house and the state it was in my bins getting over full and really struggling with everything really badly.

I know I should not have done it but I was struggling. As far as I know they are talking about a couple of bits I took to the communal bins . ( they don't belong to me house) but to the flats behinde me. I couldn't get the bits in the bin. So I left them next to the bin. They would have been bits of wood from a unit i think .

It's not a bad thing to step away from the internet if it's causing distress, kudos for recognising that.

You committed a crime, and a preventable one at that. Sorry you aren't finding the sympathy you crave, perhaps some personal responsibility and seeking help from organisations set up to do so is needed?

Not sure if they have taken it away. If not hire a man in a van? Then tell the council it’s been cleared

People who can’t afford to pay much are charged a lot less. My council charge £15 for 5 x bully waste items. My elderly disabled mum isn’t charged at all.

So yes, those who can afford to pay should pay. Otherwise council tax charges will go up to employ more people to collect people’s waste.

Well deserved fine. Fly tipping is a big problem and I’m glad the authorities are clamping down on it

You need to appeal and tell them you were removing rubbish which had been previously fly tipped by someone else.

Just tell them that there is no way you should be fined for doing the council a favour by removing it. The fine is not yours and right in the middle of a cost of living crisis.

The fact you put the rubbish which was more than a few bits into/around bins you didn't own means you did fly tip.

As a side note. My council has the same rule re collection of bulky items and one of the "items" is two bin bags secured together.

Call someone in RL for support, today if you can, even if it's just the Samaritans it sounds like you need a human voice to talk things through with.

if you ‘can’t make it’ to the tip then you need to hire a man with a van. If you can’t do that you need to keep your items until you can afford to pay to dispose of your items.

I'm sorry you feel shit @Shamefullhouse but I don't know what you expect people on here to say. Some people have been unsympathetic yeah, but some (including me) have been quite kind. What are you expecting from this thread? Why did you post it? As pps have said, (incl me) you could do with hiding the thread, or asking MN to delete it.

All the positive stuff is still there. You have made one mistake an have massively improved life for you and your kids.

Hang in there OP, it'll be ok. We all fuck up sometimes. It seems catastrophic now, but it's not. You can sort it, speak to the council on Monday, be honest, apologetic, and ask about payment plans for the amount owed. They can help.

For the future, if you have the Nextdoor app or something similar you can post there for help getting rid of shite. I've helped a few people in my village take stuff to the skip in my van, in exchange for a brew and a biscuit. There are people out there who will help you. I know how hard it can seem when you're surrounded by stuff and just feel snowed under, physically and mentally, and I'm so sorry you're obviously going through a lot.
