What's your favourite cake?

That's not a coffee or carrot cake as I make those quite a lot. Bit bored of chocolate. Fancy making something a bit different on Sunday as I have a whole day to myself child free. Any ideas?

Cherry cake is nice? Fruit squares (squashed fly kind) make a change & good in winter.

This looks delicious, I can also recommend the orange and almond flourless cakes where you cook a whole orange or two and then blitz it and mix into the batter.

Lemon and pistachio loaf cake. So good and easy to make gluten free too if that is required.

You can never go wrong with baklava either, it’s not difficult to make.

I love a parkin. Made with black treacle, ginger and oats. Tastes proper rich, deep and warm as well as rib-stickingly comforting. Triple yum.

I make something like this and it is one of my favorite cakes, beaten only by a very good Victoria sponge.
