OMG at the quote I have just been given for breast implants & lift!

I mean, it was my first enquiry so wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. However, after doing some googling I was thinking around the £8-10k mark for a lift & implants (keeping in mind I DO NOT want big boobs, I suppose i’d go for the smallest implant possible as it’s just to fill my small saggy boobs post breastfeeding! I liked my original size (small B cup) but now they are just incredibly empty.

It seems companies such as Transform, Harley Medical Group etc charge much less than independent surgeons. I did indeed contact an independent surgeon and the STARTING cost is to be £25k+.

i just wasn’t expecting it to be that much but oh well. That isn’t doable… but I wonder how they really differ from surgeons employed by Transform, Harley Medical etc?

In need of advise?!

I had a reduction and it only cost £8000. Look elsewhere.

A reduction ca. Be much more complicated than implants. The excess skin is tricky to make look smooth.

But at the same time, if there's something that could be improved, then why the hell not? I lost a lot of weight in my early 20s and it absolutely ruined my boobs. If I could have had them done, I would have. Luckily (haha, no) I regained the weight and my boobs are now wonderful again.

Improved? That’s a bit of a value judgement, isn’t it? Why do bodies need to be a certain way? Why is one way better than another?

CombatBarbie · 18/01/2024 18:17

Wow I done mine at Harley street, 16yrs ago and it cost £2400!

Thanks ladies. Stopped breastfeeding around 4 months ago, never knew that they could potentially change (although they are literally completely empty I’m not holding too much hope!).

It’s just the fact that I can’t wear certain things, nothing low cut because the gap between them is crazy and soo noticeable saggy right from the top of the boob. So low cut tops/dresses are an absolute no.

Unfortunately push up bras don’t do it either, my boobs literally fold over in a push up bra and just go the most unusual and unattractive shape?!

Ah, don't worry! You only finished breastfeeding four months ago. Your boobs need a lot longer than four months to recover, but they will recover.

Come back in four or five years and if you're still convinced then that you have a problem that is so severe that you need invasive and risky surgery to correct it, then you could start the process of getting quotes for the procedure and weighing up the pros and cons of the risks against the potential benefits.

In the meantime, try to relax and enjoy your life and your young family. Maybe start a savings fund, which could help fund the first procedure (you'll likely need it re-done at some point, so it will be the first of several) if you do decide you still want it done once you're a few years further down the line.

HurrahWuff · 18/01/2024 18:42

Wowsers £25k?!?
I had mine done about 20 years ago with Dr Mario Russo and paid about £4.5k. They still look good (I had bee stings before) and totally transformed my life confidence-wise.

savanahnana · 18/01/2024 19:20

Bluetrews25 · 18/01/2024 11:47

How long ago did you stop breastfeeding? They will fill out a bit more in time and will have less of the concave/ski slope down the top look about them eventually!
Padded uplift bras can make a big difference.

This also!

I breastfed for 2 years and by the end of it I felt so down about how it had left my boobs. The boob my child preferred was left 2 cups sizes bigger than the other one as well and I had to pad my bra out to look even! I would of had surgery there and then if I had the money but fast forward 9 months and I’m back to being my usual bra size before feeding and both boobs are the same size now and much fuller feeling than the empty sacks I thought I was going to have live with forever!

Feelingcrappy2 · 18/01/2024 13:11

Do you really think they will return to normal? Of course I won’t post a picture but kinda wish I could show you all 🤣 honestly…. They are EMPTY!! As in… when I walk run they quite literally sound like i’m slapping myself.. bloody hell 🤣

OP I just posted before I’d seen this comment. But yes think they will! You sound so much like myself when I was at that stage of stopping breastfeeding. I googled so much about this and I kept reading people saying they will get better and fill out and I didn’t believe it and felt so down about it. But honestly 9 months later and mine are 90% back to how they were before breastfeeding.

@PumpkinsAndCoconuts could you share the name of the clinic in Switzerland? Would you recommend it?

Sure. PM me if you’re genuinely interested.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 19/01/2024 12:29

@Feelingcrappy2
Your body has just done something incredible. It's grown a new human and fed it for 4 months. Your body is amazing but it's also taken a good battering. Give it (and you) a bit of recovery time. I'm not saying don't have surgery. I'm saying lets see what your fabulous body does over the next 6-12 months. If you're still not happy go for it. Life's too short to be miserable.

ElectricEms · 19/01/2024 18:07

Not sure how long it has been since you stopped feeding but my advice would be give it time. Mine kind of regenerated themselves after a while and I was in my late 30s.

Rosiesmum23 · 19/01/2024 18:14

Prices start from £7,995 at the Coppergate Clinic in York for a breast uplift. While I've not had this op, I have had other surgery there (and booked in for a lipoabdominoplasty next month), and would highly recommend them. Consultations are free.

I watched Real Housewives of Beverley Hills recently, and having Yolanda get her implants removed because they were killing her, was the most terrifying and unnecessary thing I have seen in ages. While David Foster smirked next to her, looking ancient and knowing he would never have to shoot his body full of poison.

No worries for him though, he’s on his fifth wife now, who is half his age 🙄

twinmum2007 · 19/01/2024 18:24

@Feelingcrappy2 Re exercise. My advice, for what it's worth, wold be to join a gym that does classes, pilates or body weights. You'll be able to go at your own pace, but with support from the coach and the other attendees. Don;t do big classes but smaller ones. Also, try a weight lifting class. It won;t turn you into the hulk, but it will improve your posture, your upper body strength and shape and that will help reshape your boobs. 4 months in is nothing. They will improve.

SharonEllis · 19/01/2024 18:26

I breastfrd pretty much non-stop for 5 years. Tiny boobs before. About 1o years since I stopped they have filled out & best they have ever looked!

HomeBittersweetHome · 19/01/2024 18:30

I breastfed three babies for about a year each and my (small) breasts also had that empty feel and look afterwards, but with time they have slowly returned to pretty much how they were before. In the meantime don't let it get you down, be proud of the amazing job they've done and enjoy the knowledge that you have managed to literally fatten up a baby by their power alone!

Bunchymcbunchface · 19/01/2024 18:44

I had mine done at 40. Best thing I ever did.
I hated having no boobs and my issues with it just got worse the older I got and the more my body changed. I just had implants and it was 8 years ago now. 5k

Totemoneru · 19/01/2024 18:52

@Feelingcrappy2 yes absolutely! I breastfed my first for a year and my second for 2 years and after the second I couldn't believe how awful they looked. I'm now nearly 3 years after breastfeeding and my boobs are great! Way more fuller and bigger again. Honestly after aging and kids they're never going to be the absolutely pert, tight things they once were but they're not supposed to be! And don't forget that any man that's in front of a pair of exposed breasts is only going to be thinking happy thoughts x

68User · 19/01/2024 18:54

I had a breast lift and implants 17 years ago with a surgeon (not a company) and it was £10k so that figure is probably not far off the mark now. I was a C cup pre-pregnancy/breast feeding and then they were like a couple of deflated balloons post and I hated them. Even in padded bras I had to arrange them to be smooth. I had so much excess skin. I was 37. So happy I had it done. I’ve had no issues with them but understand I will need to replace/remove in my lifetime. If you decide to do it find a good surgeon with great referrals and someone good with follow up post op. My lift was a nipple lift rather than the anchor cut so I have a very small white line around nipple.

LaLaLoca · 19/01/2024 18:56

I had a very good surgeon and my breast augmentation was 8.5. I breastfed three babies, they never recovered. I strength train and look after myself but my breasts had a negative impact on my body image.

Look at reviews (real self etc) and ask to see their work.

InAMess2023 · 19/01/2024 18:59

@68User that's exactly what I had but I only paid £6500 and that was 2 years ago!

dhfoody47 · 19/01/2024 19:11

Try 31k for dental implants, full arch, bone grafts all medically needed 🤦‍♀️

Good to know for when I need my next uplift/replacement!

InAMess2023 · 19/01/2024 19:28

@68User that was with MYA, surgeon was Mr Molajo he has his own practice now but still on RealSelf. Would 10000% recommend him

2welshmums · 19/01/2024 19:34

Try getting a quote from your local private hospitals such as Spire and Nuffield, they are not as much as £25k
