OMG at the quote I have just been given for breast implants & lift!

I mean, it was my first enquiry so wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. However, after doing some googling I was thinking around the £8-10k mark for a lift & implants (keeping in mind I DO NOT want big boobs, I suppose i’d go for the smallest implant possible as it’s just to fill my small saggy boobs post breastfeeding! I liked my original size (small B cup) but now they are just incredibly empty.

It seems companies such as Transform, Harley Medical Group etc charge much less than independent surgeons. I did indeed contact an independent surgeon and the STARTING cost is to be £25k+.

i just wasn’t expecting it to be that much but oh well. That isn’t doable… but I wonder how they really differ from surgeons employed by Transform, Harley Medical etc?

In need of advise?!

My (Now deceased) sister in law Lost 12 stone and got a boob job, then piled 14 stone back on. it was not pretty.

Whats your point?

InAMess2023 · 18/01/2024 15:20

These are mine after a mini lift and tiny (200cc) implants

LetMeOut2021 · 18/01/2024 15:23

Well this thread has now taken a turn….

penjil · 18/01/2024 15:27

It is advice you need, not advise.

redheadsaregreat · 18/01/2024 15:28

Look into fat transfer. If you have enough fat elsewhere on your body surgeons can transfer this fat into your breast area. The advantages are a very natural look and no chance of rejection, the capsule migrating, hardening etc. the disadvantages are limited how much size can be increased by if this is wanted

TheChosenTwo · 18/01/2024 15:33

OP I posted on the other similar thread that mine never recovered after birthing and feeding 3 babies! No volume ever came back and I have empty flat pancake boobs and have done ever since! I would say they’re like tennis balls in a sock but that would imply volume with the tennis balls, in reality they’re just like socks 😂
So although lots of people have come on to say they might bounce back, equally they might not. Mine weren’t big to start with and now they’re just sad!

And it really annoys me when people say "you should be happy with what you have, love your body"

Why?

I love my body now and think I look fantastic.

Looking fantastic contributes nothing to the world though. In fact it actively keeps those that don't subjectively look fantastic down and diminishes real achievements.
Consider Joan Collins. First thought (be honest)- looks fantastic for 90 or thoughts about how successful she's been? Then imagine her without wigs or make up - still the same woman, same career , same money in the bank. Why can't she look like she actually does at 90?

Backinthedress · 18/01/2024 15:40

I flirted with the idea of implants as I lost weight and they deflated, but I wouldn't want to lose sensation so I'll stick with what I've got and wear good underwear.

Calliopespa · 18/01/2024 15:42

ralpix · 18/01/2024 13:07

in fact, wait longer. They'll return to (almost) normal.
I promise!

Keep waiting till menopause. Many women find it’s ba-ba-boom: Mrs Doubtfire.

More seriously, I’ve come to realise breasts can fluctuate enormously through life. It’s all the school ironing-boards I knew who suddenly looked very fulsome during breastfeeding. Menopause will change things again.

pontipinemum · 18/01/2024 15:45

I stopped breast feeding last Aug/ Sept I completely understand the 'wtf are these things' thoughts. Boobs were one of my best features also before having a baby. But I have got some very nice bras, learnt how to properly bend and scoop them in and it does make a difference. They were starting to look a bit better recently.

I'm pregnant again though so that'll make them bigger, I plan to breastfed again so idk how long it fully takes for them to 'recover' but I'll still bf baby no 2.

mambojambodothetango · 18/01/2024 15:49

No advice about the price, but just ask yourself why you think you need to alter your body in such an invasive way, let alone the vast sum of money required? There's nothing wrong with slightly saggy boobs. Really, nothing. Perhaps you could think of other, less expensive and drastic ways of boosting your confidence?

There's nothing wrong with natural hair but people still like to colour it and cover their greys (not me 😁). There is nothing wrong with natural faces but people still like to wear makeup. There is nothing wrong with lots of things but people are entitled to make decisions about themselves regardless of what others think.

So everyone should go bare faced not colour or style their hair and leave their legs unshaven because some old people do and we need to make sure we don't make them feel bad. Ok

True. Gaining 14 stone would not be pretty in anyone

InAMess2023 · 18/01/2024 16:09

@Backinthedress that's exactly what happened with mine and why I got them (losing too much weight) - I've lost no sensation at all, in fact I have the opposite problem!

I don't mean to be rude or unsupportive, but I do think that it is better to accept aging and progressing to the next stage of life. Society is so fixated on everyone looking like a pert 20 year old, even if they are 50+. It makes people embark on surgery and all sorts of unnecessary beauty routines.

Be free. Live in your body as it is - there is nothing at all wrong with it.

Leave women to do what they like with their own bodies, whether you approve or not.

redheadsaregreat · 18/01/2024 16:13

Whatsgoingonwithmyhead · 18/01/2024 15:05

Honestly? I think the money would be better spent on therapy to learn self acceptance and build some self esteem if you are that insecure you’d actually pay £££££ and undergo massive surgery for the sake of “better” tits

Yeah how about you go shove that attitude somewhere else. No one gets to tell a woman what they should or shouldn't do with their bodies or that they need therapy

NotARealWookiie · 18/01/2024 16:18

My mate had hers done at Nuffield brighton about 3 years ago for £6500 -it’ll have gone up but won’t be £25k

yeah but when you say "people" its really women isn't it?
Countless men don't feel the need to colour their hair or wear make up. Those that do are considered bit vain or doing it for personality reasons not because looking young is the only way you get taken seriously.
Every part of a woman s body has some fix. From cankles to grey elbows to eyelashes to bottoms. Mens bodies are fine with or without hair coloured or not, with or without make up.

The more I think about it the weirder I find it that a man would open Mumsnet, find a thread on breast implants, reply to it talking about the feel and TASTE of our breasts before and after surgery and think we would give a flying FUCK on his opinion. Ew. Leave us alone.

Yes, please do, XY Guy.
How would men feel if women were commenting on a men's forum about a man considering if he should be considering 'Private' circumcision or not?.

Notintherealworld · 18/01/2024 16:24

My advice is don’t go with Harley medical group….

Feelingcrappy2 · 18/01/2024 12:56

Thanks ladies. Stopped breastfeeding around 4 months ago, never knew that they could potentially change (although they are literally completely empty I’m not holding too much hope!).

It’s just the fact that I can’t wear certain things, nothing low cut because the gap between them is crazy and soo noticeable saggy right from the top of the boob. So low cut tops/dresses are an absolute no.

Unfortunately push up bras don’t do it either, my boobs literally fold over in a push up bra and just go the most unusual and unattractive shape?!

4 months is nothing! Wait 2 years before doing anything. Mine went completely back to normal between year 1 and 2 post stopping bf.

bettynutkins · 18/01/2024 16:25

I read a thread the other day and I reckon 95% of the answers were that they returned after a couple of years (some even better off). Not many at all were worse off.

Ha! If I could pay to look like that then I would happily do so, but without a Time Machine it’s not going to happen! I am guessing you are a good twenty years younger than I am (I never had such pert boobs, but I did have the flat stomach way back when!) Looks great.

OP, be careful what you wish for - once I was done breastfeeding (three and a half years) my poor boobs were shot, but they bounced back rather alarmingly and I still don’t feel they are completely within my control! No empty socks here, in fact I’d rather like a reduction - and that is without any major weight gain elsewhere, though I am getting on a bit (late forties). No idea why Mother Nature seems to want me to have massive boobs when they will have absolutely no function. But I can’t imagine how ridiculous I would look if this was on the top of implants.

redheadsaregreat · 18/01/2024 16:27

@Marchintospring whilst I agree it is more often women than men who are focusing on beautifying themselves, Botox, fillers and hair transplants are much more common amongst men that you might think. Also covering their greys. It's evident on TV with presenters and also in the corporate world where men are struggling with the repercussions of looking old and grumpy now.
