It's 4 o'clock and I'm awake again. Granted, I slept from 9-330 but I was hoping to sleep till about 6, especially as I hadn't slept at all Monday night.
I'm away for work so an currently lying in posh hotel room, which is very nice but still awake. So come join me for a chat if you're awake too!

3.30 to 4.30 seems to be my wide awake time, hopefully get another couple of hours in soon 🤣

Guibhyl · 17/01/2024 04:17

I’ve just had a baby who is not a fan of being put down 😬

sleepdeprivedma · 17/01/2024 04:18

11 month old has a cold his nose is terribly Blocked bugging him x

thebabessavedme · 17/01/2024 04:22

Too much on my mind. Its all whirling and swirling around my head so I have given up trying to sleep for a bit in the hope that exhaustion will shut my brain down.

Sunday12 · 17/01/2024 04:22

The cat vomited in my bed again
im only going to get a few hours sleep tonight. Went to bed late then couldn’t sleep

I know that feeling. Have you tried watching asmr videos or shopping channels? I find that helps sometimes

thebabessavedme · 17/01/2024 04:25

@Guibhyl &@sleepdeprivedma Oh ladies, I bet you are tired but just cuddle and smell those little heads, I know its said so often but this time passes so quickly, I would love to go back (just for 5 minutes though) Grin

rockingbird · 17/01/2024 04:25

Wide awake.. up at 4am 🥱 I went to bed around 9.30 hoping for a good nights sleep.. hey ho

SerotinaPickeler · 17/01/2024 04:25

My 60-something OH has developed late onset snoring. I have moved into the spare room again. It's a 4:00 am thing now.

keojam80 · 17/01/2024 04:27

19 month old is ill. Hasn't slept a wink the whole night, the whole night!!!
I'm due up for work at 6.30.
I left work yesterday because I was unwell. Boss called yesterday to ask if I would be in for today and I said yes. Fast forward to now and I've had no sleep what so ever, about four hours sleep in two whole days.
My partner works away so cannot help.
Give me fucking strength

thebabessavedme · 17/01/2024 04:28

@SerotinaPickeler I am being serenaded by the sound of my dh in the next room, if he tells me he didnt sleep well in the morning I my kill him.

thebabessavedme · 17/01/2024 04:30

@Sunday12 I am just off to do a little shopping!

we modern women do a lot dont we? I feel I’m living many roles concurrently. I’m sure life was hard for many women before the advent of working mothers being normalised but i do feel its an incredible pressure

My daughter has autism and has been so disregulated she has been pulling my hair out and eating it all night. I keep waking up to handfuls of my hair being snapped out.

Baby has tossed and turned and whinged all night. Normally she sleeps through.

I'm feeling totally overstimulated, absolutely shattered and well, just fed up 😢

Stressedgiraffe · 17/01/2024 04:31

Sorry didn't see the replies. I'm using the mn app on my tablet. I think the worst thing about 4am wake ups is if you need to be up around 6ish there doesn't seem to be any point in trying to go back to sleep incase you then oversleep if that makes sense?

@Sunday12 I am just off to do a little shopping!

Gemporia is my favourite for the soporific shopping channel. They are mesmerising. The ladies are always so enthralled by the jewellery they are selling and it’s so relaxing to watch. Might not be on now though normally late evening to nighttime

rockingbird · 17/01/2024 04:33

Yeah I'm the same, my alarm goes off at 5.50 and I get up by 6 so no point trying to get back to sleep.. ds1 leaves for school at 7.10 so no chance of a lie in. I'm doing the weekly online shop and checking emails.. would love baby cuddles!! Appreciate however the stress of those early parenting days and the sleep deprivation 😬

Nice to know there's a fellow sufferer somewhere out there right now, being saved by MN.

My 6yo has an ear ache and sore throat, she has never had medicine in her entire life.

She is in pain and screaming, I'm frustrated because she will not take anything to help it.

Not fun at all.

Yes exactly. My alarm is set for 7 but i also have to feed cats at 6 so realistically i may not get more sleep than the few I’ve had. Then busy day as usual

keojam80 · 17/01/2024 04:35

@Sunday12 yeah I've been thinking about that all night. I'm embarrassed and feel unreliable at work. I have already moved from five days to three and I'm still struggling. The baby doesn't sleep when she's ill. I'm sorted for childcare but I can't send her into nursery like this and as much as i could send her to my parents, I cannot do a whole shift then parent on no sleep what so ever.
I'm hoping they grant me a day in lieu. I cannot afford to have no pay and I'm already on a warning for my attendance since I came back from maternity. It's impossible.

vodkaredbullgirl · 17/01/2024 04:36

Night shift and I've got a banging headache, hate this time of night.

The day in lieu sounds a good option. Then you could try to sleep with your baby today. I was always too embarrassed to take time off when needed. I wish i had done though. I hope you can work that out for today at least.

Tooth pain here after quite an epic session at the dentist yesterday. Anaesthetic totally worn off and have been awake since 3.30. Will probably get up in a mo in search of painkillers but have been holding off as I'll likely wake dp and the dog. Did find some orajel in my bedside table and tried that but it's not cutting it.
