It's 4 o'clock and I'm awake again. Granted, I slept from 9-330 but I was hoping to sleep till about 6, especially as I hadn't slept at all Monday night.
I'm away for work so an currently lying in posh hotel room, which is very nice but still awake. So come join me for a chat if you're awake too!

Another one with a baby that doesn't want to sleep 😬

Gizlotsmum · 17/01/2024 05:40

Dog! Trying to stop him thinking he starts the day..failing miserably the last 2 days! So might need to be an even earlier start tomorrow..not looking forward to that but needs must!

Deathbyathousandcats · 17/01/2024 05:40

Evil dreams, worries about parent in their 70s, worries about kids in their 20s….

BCBird · 17/01/2024 05:40

Hot flushes me. Thought I could avoid if didn't eat carbs at night- nooooo. Hat trick of hot flushes this week.. I feel your pain ladies.

fungibletoken · 17/01/2024 05:42

Six month old baby DD has decided she will only sleep if she's being held tonight. The whole night. The second I even hover her over her bassinet she starts whining. Today is going to be a sloooooog.

19 month old is ill. Hasn't slept a wink the whole night, the whole night!!!
I'm due up for work at 6.30.
I left work yesterday because I was unwell. Boss called yesterday to ask if I would be in for today and I said yes. Fast forward to now and I've had no sleep what so ever, about four hours sleep in two whole days.
My partner works away so cannot help.
Give me fucking strength

Oh 💔

That's really tough. Don't go to work today - you've been ill, baby ill & not sleeping. It's not workable.

@Sunday12 yeah I've been thinking about that all night. I'm embarrassed and feel unreliable at work. I have already moved from five days to three and I'm still struggling. The baby doesn't sleep when she's ill. I'm sorted for childcare but I can't send her into nursery like this and as much as i could send her to my parents, I cannot do a whole shift then parent on no sleep what so ever.
I'm hoping they grant me a day in lieu. I cannot afford to have no pay and I'm already on a warning for my attendance since I came back from maternity. It's impossible.

Send baby to parents & get some rest.

In our workplace, you'd need to take annual leave but it wouldn't be a problem.

Cat had surgery yesterday morning, so is up and down pacing as she doesn't like the cone. Her purr is exceptionally loud after her surgery and she woke me up by standing at the side of the bed purring and wanting up for a cuddle. She's now snoozing on my other pillow and DH is breathing rather deeply which may turn into a snore.

Can hear toddler stirring but upon checking monitor, seems to be sleeping still.

Alarm set for 7:15am, so might try snooze, but I doubt it...

EarringsandLipstick · 17/01/2024 05:53

I'm up as I leave to train (gym) at this time every day. However, I've just realised one teen hasn't done something that needs to be done before school so I'll have to skip my session & go straight to work at 7.

I never miss the gym so will need to get a session in tonight - with 3 DC training in 3 separate locations for their sports, that's nearly impossible (single parent).

Honestly considered getting said teen out of bed at 5 to do said task!

janbaby24 · 17/01/2024 05:57

Labour 😅

3under · 17/01/2024 05:57

Another overthinking one

Baby is snoring fast asleep next to me, alarm set for 6:30 and been awake since 4:50

I have a cold. It wasn’t really bothering me at all and hasn’t disturbed me until I was woken up by DP getting up for a wee. Now I can’t stop coughing.

Chickenwing2 · 17/01/2024 06:24

I woke up around 5am and can't get back to sleep due to stressing about work and dog being in the middle of the bed so I'm stuck in an awkward position around him Grin it's basically morning now anyway I suppose! Hope all you tired Mumsnetters make it through the day! Flowers

Stressedgiraffe · 17/01/2024 06:27

Hope you all have a good day! Now off to eat breakfast!😀

I’ve been awake pretty much all night because my son is teething and only breastfeeding every hour helps apparently.

Boymum2104 · 17/01/2024 06:28

My baby has been asleep on me since 3am.. I'm wide awake but he's cosy and content!

keojam80 · 17/01/2024 07:25

@EarringsandLipstick it's unpaid. My boss is a dick. Won't grant me lieu or holiday. Argh

Rowgtfc72 · 17/01/2024 09:10

@Sunday12 I'm about to turn 52.
I bike 9 miles a day and walk 2 with the dog. I'm on my feet for 8 hours in a manual job so I should be tired enough to sleep!

That’s a lot of exercise and activity yes. I went swimming before bed last night. Still hasn’t really helped. My stress, ruminating, anxiety and I suspect ADHD is ruling my life

And I’m a few years older than you. I’m a busy person but clearly nowhere near as active as you. I hear people outside walking their dogs and I feel exhausted just thinking about having to do that. I love animals but my cats interrupt my sleep nightly
