It's 4 o'clock and I'm awake again. Granted, I slept from 9-330 but I was hoping to sleep till about 6, especially as I hadn't slept at all Monday night.
I'm away for work so an currently lying in posh hotel room, which is very nice but still awake. So come join me for a chat if you're awake too!

I'm sorry about all those up with babies and ill children it's really difficult at that age. I'd like to say that it does get better but now I have teenagers who like to come and talk to me in the middle of the night.
Just made a coffee and am now eating posh biscuits.

Go to bed at 9.30. Wake up at 1, 2, 3. Get up at 340am as I like an hours peace before I bike to work.
Last night I saw 12 something so this morning I'm knackered. Nothing new, I'm 2 years into this now.
I'm that age unfortunately.

MinnieMountain · 17/01/2024 04:40

I woke up for a wee and can’t get back to sleep.
DH and I sleep separately, so at least he isn’t a problem.
I’ve got coffee, put a podcast on and the cat has just joined me.

Kirstylvsya · 17/01/2024 04:42

Pregnant and miserable. Need a drink, need to pee. Can't get comfortable. 😂

Is it an age thing? Do you get a rest during the day? What age are you if I may ask?

Resisterance · 17/01/2024 04:47

Had some 4am toast just now after the cat woke me upand raised my tummy was rumbling. He wanted some cuddles but only ever seems to want them in the middle of the night.

My 10 year old has climbed into bed too and is gently snoring next to me. Got to be up in 2 hours and ten minutes!

Stressedgiraffe · 17/01/2024 04:49

I'd love some toast! Need to wait till lovely hotel breakfast!

Also went to sleep at 9, woke up at one. Have to be up at 7 and the stress of so little sleep and working all day is keeping me awake.

But my children are bigger so that is a small mercy. Sympathy to those still in that war zone.

Not so D H is snoring beside me which kept me awake the night before so ut might be time to move bedrooms.

Pollywoddles · 17/01/2024 04:49

22 month old with a cough who has me up since 03:15 and now I’m properly awake.

Trusttheprocess1 · 17/01/2024 04:51

After years of lone parenting whilst working full time I thought being older would mean more sleep. Sadly the menopause plus pain in the ass cats equals very early starts! Need to walk the dog then be at work by 7.45am. I have a meeting that doesn’t even start until 6pm! I need some sleep!

Same here! Stressing about not sleeping and working is making me sleep less 🙄

It's not my first rodeo though, my sleep is generally poor when stressed so I should know how to handle it by now really....

WavyLines11 · 17/01/2024 04:53

Seems to be a few common themes here- kids, animals, pain or work keeping us awake....

Sunday12 · 17/01/2024 04:59

I’m lucky in that I might be able to get a nap at some point today so that will help massively. Just the thought of it helps

Stressedgiraffe · 17/01/2024 05:04

I was hoping that by having no animals or children last night I'd sleep more but no.
Usually it's the cat waking me up by screaming at me for food early in the morning combined with teenagers talking at me in the middle of the night means little sleep. Maybe tonight will be better. I'm staying at the hotel for another 2 nights.

6 months old, who decided for the first time in about 3 weeks that he wanted to have a 5am bottle. They cry had me jumping out of bed.

Wearegettingfedup · 17/01/2024 05:10

The dog has developed a 4am habit to explore the garden . Stayed up until midnight hoping she would sleep in a bit later!!
she is now fast asleep and I am wide awake! Hope to sleep a bit later ,not working until pm .

Anisette · 17/01/2024 05:23

I've got a fairly horrendous cold/cough and a combination of coughing, wheezing and very snotty nose are keeping me awake.

Hmm, hadn't thought about toast. But I'm worried that random toast crumbs will set off yet another coughing fit.

Does your hotel do room service? When do they start serving breakfast?

Mammma91 · 17/01/2024 05:31

I’m another pregnant miserable one. Hope you all get some rest soon!

Stressedgiraffe · 17/01/2024 05:32

Unfortunately breakfast is not served till 630. I've stayed here before and they do a great breakfast- fruit, cold meat cheese smoked fish, cereals, pastries and hot breakfast all buffet so can eat as much as I can. I'm so hungry. I only had lidl bakery mini pizza for dinner last night.

My elderly dog needed the toilet and then I had a 5 minute stress out about the stray cat outside in my garden in this weather (-5 here) and had to lure him into my utility room by feeding him and now here the fuck I am. Wide awake and up in an hour 🙄

doodlepants · 17/01/2024 05:33

Snoring husband.

SillySquirrel · 17/01/2024 05:35

My 7 week old just had a feed and I might as well get up for the day now!

BiddyPop · 17/01/2024 05:36

I've only picked up phone now but have been awake a couple of hours. Sleeping on a camping air mat, my 2nd night in new apartment, quite cold (but better than yesterday morning).

My truck with furniture, clothes, crockery etc arrives this morning -assuming the snow holds off another while!

sanityisamyth · 17/01/2024 05:37

I always seem to be awake. I average 3 hours of broken sleep a night. Constantly massively stressed.
