Do you wash your hands after a wee in the night?

It’s the middle of the night and you’re up for a wee. (Assume you’ve just dabbed yourself dry with loo roll, no other bodily fluids present!) Do you do a full 30 second soap and water hand wash vs after? A quick water-only rinse, and pat dry? Not wash at all and go straight back to bed? Something else completely?

I’ve often wondered what others do but too afraid to ask in real life 🫢

Yes. I rub my eyes a lot and don't want to do that with pissy hands.

saraclara · 15/01/2024 23:13

I'm amazed that most of you will go near a penis, frankly. Given that your so revolted by touching your own genitalia through layers of paper. And of course blokes don't wipe their dick after they've done a wee

MumoftwoGranofone · 15/01/2024 23:15

No, as I use toilet paper my hands don’t get dirty … I don’t touch anything else

🤣🤣🤣🍸

Flossflower · 15/01/2024 23:17

I don’t. I only touch toilet paper. I have really dry hands and washing them too much causes them to become very red and inflamed. If I flush I use a piece of toilet paper to hold the flush while I do that.

Wetblanket78 · 15/01/2024 23:17

Err yes of course I wash my hands. What minger doesn't?

Bobbotgegrinch · 15/01/2024 23:18

Nope, have a penis. Entirely capable of peeing without touching anything with my hands.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 15/01/2024 23:21

EbonyWood · 15/01/2024 23:11

Just to add - these people that must wash their hands before going back to bed so that wee germs aren’t transferred…I hope you aren’t putting your handbags/wallets/phones/coats etc on your bed. There are THOUSANDS of poo particles on the bottom of your handbag and your mobile has more germs than a public toilet seat.

I also wonder about this. I also see so many people putting their bags on the floors of toilet cubicles in public places like pubs and shops.

Is your penis freshly clean before you urinate? Or do you go around touching things with manky penis hands?

Rewis · 15/01/2024 23:21

I do a quick splash.

ChronicallyConfused · 15/01/2024 23:21

This! It takes hardly any time at all.

I hope the non washers aren't having sex after. 😬

We live in a old house and it takes a few mins for the hot water to get hot, I'm disabled and in a lot of pain and don't sleep well at the best of times, shit sleep equals more pain for me and I'm not putting my arthritic hands under a cold tap causing even more pain and making me wide awake. I actually limit what I drink in the evening to reduce the chances of needing the toilet because the getting out of bed and walking to bathroom is painful enough. It might only be an extra 30 seconds or whatever for some people but for many with sleep disorders or disabilities, it's not.

As for sex, we don't wake each other to fuck because we prioritise sleep because but assuming you don't get piss ok your hands when you wipe, do you and your partner also wash your genitals after middle of night urinating in case you have sex when you return to bed? If not then surely there's more piss traces on your minge than your hands.

NashvilleQueen · 15/01/2024 23:22

So I'd say it's about 50/50. Given that significant numbers of non-washers (of which I am one) dont appear to have been struck down by any terrible diseases through their approach I think we can safely assume that there's no risk.

CactusMactus · 15/01/2024 23:23

Nope.

TeenLifeMum · 15/01/2024 23:24

No… but I also don’t make dh wash his cock before I put it in my mouth 🤷🏻‍♀️

I mean, if I actually got a drip of wee on my hands then yes but I use a load of loo roll when weeing in the dark so it’s not an issue. I do always wee first thing and wash my hands then, before making lunches etc.

New2024 · 15/01/2024 23:24

Eeek imagine rubbing the sleep out of your eyes in the morning 😟 Yes, of course I wash my hands

AboutYouTalk · 15/01/2024 23:25

? Can’t believe you even have to ask? As for those who say they don’t… wash your hands 🤢

SeriouslyAgain · 15/01/2024 23:26

No

chillin12 · 15/01/2024 23:26

Ew, I’m disgusted that so many people don’t wash their hands! Even just water would be fine.

Hermittrismegistus · 15/01/2024 23:29

No… but I also don’t make dh wash his cock before I put it in my mouth

Now that is truly disgusting.

Sandals12 · 15/01/2024 23:30

Urine is sterile so no harm there, unless you're handling the toilet seat a lot I don't see the big deal to not wash. A lot more bacteria on most door handles etc and people dont wash hands every single time they touch those. But each to their own but I wouldn't put this in the totally disgusting category.

saraclara · 15/01/2024 23:32

I'm amazed that I've got to my age (late 60s) without dying of since terrible wee particle infection.

I've actually got a really good immune system, so I've been doing something right.

kkLeeNex · 15/01/2024 23:32

I'm more concerned about the people not turning on the light- what if there's a huge spider lurking?!!!!

Snowflakesonhisnose · 15/01/2024 23:32

AndThatWasNY · 15/01/2024 22:48

Are you all weeing on your hands?!
I touch nothing but loo paper. I definitely don't get wee on my hands. I don't even shut the door or flush so no problem.

I'm also wondering about this. I do flush, but wash my hands in the night? No, not in my own home. What's disgusting about that? Loo roll isn't inherently full of bacteria, my house is clean, my loos are clean. What will happen if I touch my own skin after touching loo roll?

Now money - I always wash my hands after touching coins or notes. We swabbed lots of things at school (including loos), and money was the dirtiest thing by far.

Wetblanket78 · 15/01/2024 23:33

UnctuousUnicorns · 15/01/2024 23:04

Please, don't anyone in our 1930s house, using our only toilet hey, it was a luxury at the time ever neglect to flush it after using, no matter what time it is. I don't want to walk into our only bathroom the next morning and get a nose full of the whiff of your eight to twelve hour old piss. Just sayin'.

Edited

Some relatives of mine do it all the time to save water. Oh and they don't put bleach down their toilet their that tight.

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 15/01/2024 23:33

Paw2024 · 15/01/2024 22:35

Why are you scrubbing the toilet and changing underwear?

I can't decide if that.post is a wind up or not.

I'm another no washer.
